      @DivineDefecation Ok now imagine you produce orange juice and have extraordinary demand for it. You keep optimising your processes and machines to produce more and more but can't keep up with the demand. You even raise the prices substantially and have great margins now and demand keeps growing. In this scenario do you want to : 1) keep optimising your lines to satisfy demand while decreasing costs, hence being able to later reduce price and increase demand if it starts fading. Only when you've reached a nice equilibrium would you consider increasing complexity to enter new market segment and answer a new kind of demand. 2) Start selling apple juice, at much tighter margin, with new materials and processes and divert your ressources toward something obviously less profitable. What do you do ?

      Actually, it’ll be huge. If Tesla can make a robot for $30 thousand ea that replaces factory workers that, fully-loaded, cost $60,000-80,000/yr, they will sell millions. Other people already make phones. No one makes a robot factory worker. It’ll change the world.

    At its heart, Tesla is a hardcore technology company.
    I was stunned at how Tesla grinds performance and efficiency at every level, with design for manufacturing in mind. Chips, busbars, memory, data transfer, compilers, thermal management, etc...Dojo addresses every process. For FSD, the transformation of neural net architecture over the past two years reveals Tesla's willingness to abandon inferior strategies rather than double down. It is still very early on the bot, but I have no doubt that Tesla's design philosophy, and its computer vision and physical simulation engines give it industry-leading advantages in that space.

    The compute power of the human brain is estimated to be about 100 petaFLOPS. Put together 12 tiles, and you have a computer as powerful as the human brain. Make it 100 tiles, and you have a superhuman brain.

    • @bighands69
      @bighands69 2 года назад +2

      The human brain probably operates as an intelligence system with about 3 petaFlops. That 100 petaFlops is the whole brains capable operations but that does not all add to direct intelligence operations.
      So the area of the brain that operates in tandem with the human metabolic system is not required as are several other areas of operation.
      The issue with ai right now is not raw computation it is architecture that is the challenge and that is now what the research is focused on and that is where we will see the next generation of development.

Developing the hardware and software for that without a big power drain would provide an advantage for achieving autonomous driving, particularly in dense urban environments. Another possibility is to have a universal protocol that can be accessed and contributed to by any modern vehicle with camera sensing technology.
