What a ridiculous comment. These are less than 1% of an entire season of attempts. Do you ever make a mistake at your job (do you even have one)? No one is getting fired for one bad day decision. They all could have gone the other way.
This is my stuff right here. In Little League I played Outfield for pretty much 7 years straight. I had a good arm but I couldn’t really hit very well. Crazy fast throws from a distance is always entertaining to me.
Why in the world would you send Albert Pujols home from second with no outs in the top of the fourth when you’re up one run? That guy for sure lost his job.
Ridiculous title. The point is that in most of these instances the thrower DID hit the cutoff man. Like they were supposed to. And the catcher probably screamed "DON'T CUT IT!"
There is talent to be able to throw a ball long distances without it curving. It is one thing to have the “arm” but the technique is just as important to accuracy.
Not a good collection. Any OF who can play beyond high school charging a short hit NEVER EVER EVER need a cutoff man. It's an exciting play, sure, but at least for a play at home, a cutoff man is for only necessary a ball to the wall in a real stadium. I knew when the first couple were basically deep second base and a guy trying to score from second there wouldn't be much to see here.
I LUV these videos and I LUV it when you as the plate official gets to look KEWL calling these guys out but what I LUV more is when you are in rotation and get to move down to third and make the call they need to make some of these videos and post them as well as the 1st baseman rotating to home and making the call. One thing that is funny as hell is when the game commentators are laughing at the runner for even trying to score and they know they are going to be out.
Not so much slow baserunners but cannons out in the outfield. I was a center fielder in college and begged the hitter to hit the ball to me with a runner in scoring position so that I could throw him out trying to score.⚾️⚾️⚾️😂😂😂
I know this is more modern footage, but how do you leave Dave Winfield (and I hate the Yankees) out of any film of 9-2 and 9-5 put-outs? Winfield was an absolute beast. Sammy Sosa and Bo Jackson, too. I think all 3 of those dudes should have had their arms registered with the ATF as class III destructive devices.
please, a list like this without Aaron Judge is incomplete. These guys were throwing from short right, and short left, Judge has thrown people out from the wall.
Just about all of these videos show the ball was hit into the shallow outfield. Most of these throws from the outfield were one hoppers before they got to the catcher. If people want to see great throws from the outfield they need to see some of the throws of Roberto Clemente. He would be almost at the outfield wall and the ball never bounced off the ground.
@@austinpuetz7750 i think i seen 5 over shoot it..most of them the cutoff man could of got it..or there wasnt one..or if the situation didn’t require it..like if it was late in the game and its tied
All I am seeing is a bunch of third base coaches that should be fired. Nearly every one of these throws the outfielder was charging in, making them pretty easy throws.
This is a stupid title. Cutoff men aren't there because outfielders can't throw runners out at home. They are there to freeze on-base runners, who would take the extra base if there was no one there to cut the throw.
As much as we're seeing great throws from the outfield there needs to be love for these catchers with great pick n' tags at the plate!
Yeah, it's not always easy.
Nothing beats Ichiro's right field gun to third. An absolute rocket and my all time favorite.
This should be called "When 3rd base coaches lost their job".
Thank you
They're supposed to challenge the defense, but some of those overweight players were barely trying.
What a ridiculous comment. These are less than 1% of an entire season of attempts. Do you ever make a mistake at your job (do you even have one)? No one is getting fired for one bad day decision. They all could have gone the other way.
You aren't lying lol half these dudes are out by 15 feet
@@claycthesunburntband7750 are you a third base coach?
Blackman @ 1:38 doing a 360 turn to throw after the sliding catch is The Exclamation Mark!
I love to see plays like this. Outfielders with cannons for arms.
Alternate title:
"When you shouldn't be sent home"
This is my stuff right here. In Little League I played Outfield for pretty much 7 years straight. I had a good arm but I couldn’t really hit very well.
Crazy fast throws from a distance is always entertaining to me.
wow! This was a great collection of MLB clips!
Most of these throws are not from very deep and the main function of the cutoff man is not to catch the ball and then relay it onto home.
Silly. Every one too shallow for a cutoff.
Yep.
That laser from Elier Hernandez to catch Upton was an absolute dime.
They could re-title this video "Bad base-running decisions" just as easily...lol.
01:21 the fingers reached home before the tag.
02:28 catcher on runner's line before having the ball.
Why in the world would you send Albert Pujols home from second with no outs in the top of the fourth when you’re up one run? That guy for sure lost his job.
I love the Jones throw where Rick and Matt are calling the play off the bat.
Nice compilation. Thanks!
That first one was funny. The runner was like "Oh shit....(gives up)"
Most of these are the result of 3rd base coach error... A lot of these balls are hit pretty hard.
Would have been great to hear the Phillies broadcast from the first one but Apple TV ruined that moment for all us fans
Ridiculous title.
The point is that in most of these instances the thrower DID hit the cutoff man. Like they were supposed to. And the catcher probably screamed "DON'T CUT IT!"
Ahh...to be throwed out from the outfield at home plate. The agony of defeat.
"Bad 3rd base coaching" would be a more fitting label. Looks like half the guys were safe anyway.
Yep, I just posted the same thing.
The 2nd clip is a too aggressive running cuz that’s the 2nd baseman who fielded that ball
Love you get the perfect throw on MLB the show
I am disappointed that it didn't include BO Jackson's throws.
There is talent to be able to throw a ball long distances without it curving. It is one thing to have the “arm” but the technique is just as important to accuracy.
I think 2 or 3 of those could have been reversed on appeal
Many of these videos will show Michael Harris II making great throws! He's the best since Andruw Jones.
I could make most of these throws in high school.
Not a good collection. Any OF who can play beyond high school charging a short hit NEVER EVER EVER need a cutoff man. Michael Harris is a legit future superstar

Throw me out at home?
Mad respect
You should have included some Bo Jackson highlights, like the time he finger-wagged a runner he had just thrown out.
RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
Jose Guillen and Roberto Clemente, too.
With the bionic hip!
That ursela play would have been safe if he knew how to slide away from the catcher instead of angling towards that catcher
That Seth Beer send might be the dumbest send I've seen in my life
Never send a slow guy

Same for me but I played left, great feeling ya know....
@@drowization no better feeling in the world than to throw someone out⚾️⚾️⚾️😂😂😂🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Aquino looks like he's throwing from his hip
routine throws
Most of these are from the shallow outfield, so there's no "cut off" to throw to.
It’s not like those were Willie Mays type throws from deep center field!
I’m literally pulling my hair out at hung these people not tags up for no reason and then running back to 3rd to tag just to get thrown out by a mile
It wasn't until the sixth clip that the throw came from any kind of depth. Accurate throws, sure, but they would never need a cut off to get the out.
1:21 , clearly safe
Michael Harris II is the man
Not when you have a cannon for an arm.
Cap.

Dave Winfield isn't a yankee, he's a minnesotan who happened to play for new York for a bit
@@poopmcgee2410 to those of us blessed enough to be Texans, everything north of the Red River is yankee country. 😁

That throw to get Marte doesn't happen if Marte is 100% healthy though, let's all be honest
Thats just good baseball...

These aren't long throws. They're easy outs - just really bad baserunning.
Most of them hit the cut off lol

For the most part, this should be titled Slow white guys thrown out at home.
what are you talking about? there was only 6 white guys thrown out in that video....
Most of these are situations where you wouldn’t cut off the throw so dumb title
Runner on third, no one else on base, fly out to right….. cut the throw off!?!? Stupid
Obviously Yankee haters, no other explanation for skipping Judge.
The cut off man is used to keep the other runner from advancing

Most of those were hit so shallow that it is obvious there isn't any need for a cutoff man. C'mon folks. 🤨😯
#1 - 4 No need to even LOOK a the cut off man.....CLICKBAIT.
every fundemental outfielder knows why you hit coutoff man.....you throw high home and batter goes to 2nd everytime
Not when the game is on the line.
really stupid premise...you should ALWAYS HIT THE CUTOFF unless it's the tying or winning run in the last two innings.
