Nice rifle!!! I have that exact action in single shot on order. Im having it chamberd in 6.5 PRC 30" Brux 1.250 straight barrel in a Cyrus stock.

I would say the blind hole on the handle end of the bolt is likely there for the addition of an aftermarket three position safety shroud similar to the Winchester model 70

$2000 for the action? I’d rather have a Borden at that point and save $500-$700 and have an action that is perfect!

agreed! ...Defiance are pretty over priced IMHO. Nice actions, but still, a lot of similar/better options for less $$$$

Hey John! I just developed them over the years to suit my needs. Simple stuff. Brownells has a good starting point in their documents section...

It is a pure shame the weak 6.5 NeedMoor kicked out the up and coming 6.5-284 Norma which is far superior to the 6.5 NeedMoor .
Around 9 years ago I started to add to the AR 10 uppers I build and sell the 6.5-284 Norma which has become one of the better preferred ordered AR 10 uppers I build and sell.
One of my own AR 10s I hunt with is in 6.5- 284 Norma so I have allot of hunting experiences with this cartridge.
The difference between a bolt rifle for the 6.5-284 Norma and the AR 10 is the AR 10 for 6.5-284 Norma is bullets need to be seated in the case, so the cartridge fit into the AR 10 magazine which shows no change in accuracy and also don't let inexperienced gun owners repeat the garbage when using heavy bullet the powder charge has to be reduces not so because using correct load data for loading 6.5mm 156 grain bullets show powder to the case Shoulder and can't take any more or that is an over pressure load going to flatten primers and cause case sticking in the chamber.
Using all load data for the 6.5mm bullets of any weight and follow the recommended powder charge to bullets weigh won't case any issues should bullets be seated slightly deep in the case.
For hunting I am a Barns copper bullet all the way but in 6.5 mm there is no heavy bullets in copper expanding bullets I am using the Norma Oryx and Vulcan bullets in 156 grain and by using these weights of bullets my 6.5-284 Norma loads can match the 270 Winchesters 150 and 160 grain loads.
I feel to be on the safe side of shooting deer to Elk is 300 yards max range I would take a shot and if shooting might be further then I own 2 rifles in 300 Wby mag and a 338 win mag and a Rare Brevex Mauser in 8mm-378 Wby mag so I am using the right tool for the job at hand.
I will add that I am using for all of the AR 10 and AR 15 builds is Pac Nor super match barrels.

@@pitts3219 I bought the video cameras then I haven't a clue how to make the videos.
With the sales of the AR 10 and AR 15 uppers now gaining sooner or later I need to get this done on videos of what I build in video's.
I am sure many gun nuts would like to see the AR 15 upper I build in 7.92x33 Kurz or 17 Remington fired and the AR 10 uppers I build and sell in all of the WSM magnums - 6.8 Western - 6.5 PRC /- 6mm-284 win /- 6.5 -284 Norma /--- 250 Savage and 358 WSM and a 375-300 WSM .
One of my own AR 10 uppers I hunt with is in 375-300 WSM and to show gun nuts this AR shooting would really get peoples brain gears turning what they could do with an AR in 375-300 WSM.
I just got the new Pac Nor super match barrels 2 days ago to do another AR 15 upper in 7.92x33 Kurz - one 6 mm barrel to do an AR 10 upper in 6mm-284 win - one 25 cal barrel to do another AR 10 upper in 250 Savage and a 30 cal barrel to do another AR 10 upper in 300 WSM all will be for sale soon.
In 25 cal and 30 cal I ordered the Polygonal rifling to try something different.
Another of my own AR 10 is in 6mm-284 win and that is really amazing shooter out doing even the 240 Weatherby mag.
The AR 10 cycles the 6mm-284 win like the AR 10 was designed for the 6mm-284 win.
Once the adjustable gas block is adjusted for proper operating pressure the AR 10 cycles the cartridges like a champ !
packs of running coyotes don't stand a chance in hell against this auto loading 6mm-284 because 70 grain 6mm bullets are leaving the barrel at 4200 FPS.

@@pitts3219 If someone is in the Pacific NW and has a new business or starting a business related to outdoors or hunting and that person has skills to make videos, I will make a deal with them if they make my videos then when I go to trade shows to sell my AR rifle uppers this person can use part of my booth to promote their business.
I need videos or my AR uppers being used in hunting trips as a promotion video's.
These booths can cost $300 to $700 or much more like the Alaskan great outdoor show I attend is now $1200 so this could be a good trade
