I greatly appreciate your videos on this thing! I just got mine yesterday and am sorting out, and yeah the hi-hat setup is not intuitive and the manual does not help, but this video certainly did. I have one question: can a new kit be created, instead of just modifying a preset one? On page 4 of the manual it says "A. Shows P1-30, which is one of the 30 preset kits. C1-20 are user kits imported via USB memory stick", but there's no further info about it. Thanks!
In hit the pedal plug it doesnt open and close even though i followed the step you showed to low the layer point to zero could you help me with this how does it work
@@demonicsweaters this is a great question as it's not really clear what to do after one selects "Copy" under a particular kit. How to "paste" and where? couldn't find the create new kit option
Regarding the split inputs, I've had no problem with a standard single-zone pad or trigger (currently use a Roland KT-10 kick pedal). But I tried a Roland PDX-8 dual-zone pad, and the unit only "sees" the centre zone, while the rim trigger is not registering at all. Any ideas? I know I could get a splitter cable and plug in two single-zone pads, but I presume a dual-zone pad should work!
I'm happy to correct both of us with this update: I now have both zones working from the dual-zone pad! The previous time I likely just didn't make sure the 1/4" stereo cable was fully inserted at one end. Doh! So, I now have the dual-zone snare in Inputs 3+4, the kick drum in one side of #1+2, and using a splitter will add a single pad to the other side. Oh of course have a synth pedal hi-hat footswitch in FS1. So many things to hit now! Also, one should check the various input types in Settings, as the very last one (CR...) only receives the centre trigger.
Hello and congratulations for your channel and for this video, of this percussion machine, so interesting; 1º, I would like to know what the touch of the pads is like? Does the drumstick bounce well? 2º Is the quality of the sounds 16 bits, 24 bits? 44,100 hertz, 48,000...? 3º can it reproduce sounds recorded at 24 bits-48,000 hertz? Thank you so much All the best PS, sorry for the English, it is translated by Google Translator
Looks like it competes with the spdx! ive got an option for a second hand spdx for $750 or this for $450 au (price with stand and foot pedals). is there functions or playability that I would be missing out on if I got this? I would be loading full of my own samples, I just checked and it is 512mb internal storage. That doesn't sound like it would be enough?
The SPD-SX is going to give you much better editing, sampling, storage, performance, durability, sounds, and basically everything will be better. So if you have the means, I'd get it over the PD705. That being said the PD705s are excellent for the money, and I'm happy with mine.
@@demonicsweaters thanks for the reply, I decided to get the spdx pro. Now I’ve spent so much money I don’t have much left for a kick pedal. Does the one that comes with the pd705 work good enough? Edit: I see you have recommended the Yamaha KU100 in another video. This fits my budget, thanks again
@@demonicsweaters Oh sorry I mis typed. I meant foot switch input. I just got this Avatar drum pad after watching your tutorial. Thanks so much, very helpful . This is a good addition to the Roland td27, I use it for timbales, congas, cowbell, woodblock, and crosstick sounds.

Excellent! Exactly the video I was looking for!
Cool little drum pads. Sounds pretty good to me and I like how you can change and tune the sounds as well as add a high hat and bass pedal.
Yeah, I really dig it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Is there a China cymbal here on the pd705?
Can you change the hi hat from pad 9 to pad 7 and still use foot switch to open and close it
Which is better for live looping? Avatar or Alesis Samplepad Pro?
Thanks man. Good info. 🤙🏽🫡

@@demonicsweaters Indeed it is! That vid cleared things up, many thanks.

Hiya!! Really good vid. Can you copy a kit and change it up and save as a new kit selection? Or are you always changing existing kits?
Yep, you can copy them to other slots

As far as I know, they are not dual trigger inputs, but rather made to be split to add more single zone triggers.
@@demonicsweaters Ok thanks. Time to buy some splitter cables!

Ciao, quale Kick pad usi con il tuo multipad Avatar? 😊
it will accept most standard kick triggers in a trigger input
Can't get to rename without bumping out of the menu.
Kick can be plugged into input 2, default kick trigger
No it’s not. Foot switch input 2 is default kick. The trigger inputs need to be reprogrammed.
