Using Adobe Animate for roughs, clip studio and cacani for clean up and in betweening, and cacani and opentoonz for color, and open toonz for comp is the best way I found to work. Seriously, the bridge for clip to opentoonz that the clip team has in their program goes so far beyond useful especially if you work with a team. The palette in opentoonz helps keep the clean up so refined for me when I import the cleans from clip into OT. And the antialiasing tool in OT is a life saver. This shouldn't be clip vs OT but how awesome they work together as intended by the clip team 👏👏👏
@@kraphdragon anything works really. I animate in multiple programs depending on what I need. I think you have a better UI for 2D animation in opentoonz plus a more anime friendly pipeline to use.
Open toonz isn't a creation of studio Ghibli at all. First it was one of the standards animation software used for exemple on Don Bluth's Anatasia and back in those days its name was Softimage Toonz, then, with the american majors canceling their hand drawn production units, the license was bought by an italian society who decided to turn it into a free software. Ghibli, like other studios developped some specific tools for their needs that were added to Open toonz and through a deal with the italian society offers paying formations to anyone in need as Toonz is a very complicated software. Clip Studio Paint on the other hand is an evolution of the anime standard software Retas which was combined with their manga software which itself had an add on for illustration tools ( basicaly, it's a photoshop like soft ), well, 3 sotfwares which share the same architecture putted in all together. Both of those softwares are designed for a professional use but, Clip Studio Paint is much more versatile and easy to use and, if you want to produce an animated movie it will do the job as well as Toonz.
@@godslayerreginaldToonz is opentoonz, what happen was that "Digital video S.p.A" open source it along side Dwango and Ghibli. That's what it says on their page, even if you open the program it says "This open source program is developed from Toonz"
@@kraphdragon I think Opentoonz is a pretty complicated software to master compared to Grease Pencil. Maybe you should consider using something like Krita, which is free as well and is pretty close to Clip Studio Paint.
I was wondering if it would remain a mountain studio after Miyazaki's departure from it. I heard that he would present his latest work, so would it be useful for Ibn Tunz to learn to join a mountain studio or what would branch out from it or cartoon studios?
