Has there ever been a marque with more public goodwill but less ability to capitalise upon it than Alfa Romeo? How car enthusiasts have willed Alfa to at least get things partway right but instead have all too often been palmed off with prettified Fiats, second-rate dynamics and the clear imprimatur of accountants getting their way over engineers. There has been the odd highlight along the way but for an enthusiast marque, Alfa Romeo has all too often not just missed the bullseye, but studiously managed to miss the entire target.
That era ended with the arrival of the 4C sports coupe. Here is a car that seemed to promise so much that most just prepared themselves for huge and crushing disappointment. The wonderful news for sports car lovers is that the 4C delivers on its promise. It's revolutionary in the way it brings all carbon-fibre chassis construction to a sensible price point. And it goes in a way that those who demeaned it as just a 1.7-litre four-cylinder auto would never believe.

Admittedly I am a huge fan (and owner) of this remarkably unique 2 seater. The conclusion stating it will be taxing when driven for an extended period (true) BUT as you walk away you look back fondly as you get excited about the next time you will drive the car is so accurate. Excellent review of a wonderful car, I bought one new in 2015 (Launch Edition) and it is a very reliable and fun car to own. You are a reviewer who understands what is so great about this car. Brilliant review! Presenter was not only super informative about the car from A to Z, his delivery was polished. He doesn’t lecture, he’s not condescending, he does play the “shock jock” game by bad mouthing something to appear to an oracle to be awed by. Damned good job, sir! Well I drive a 4c spider, there is absolutely nothing like it for the money and I’m always looking for my next car, but there isn’t one for less than 100k (impossible). I’d be interested to see what you think of the McLaren 12c though. Cheers Jim

2015 owner, from new. Great car. Love the lightness. It's totally road spec, and never been to the track. The original Pirelli tyres, are not a good choice for the car, and I am so happy I went for the standard exhaust.

I have never seen a better reweiew of a car ever, Thank U. It´s so relaxing listening to a person not coloured by a German´s !
U`ve learned your history of this buildt, Stradale( my all time dreamcar, from befor I could speak), Lancia Stratos( my secret hero from the 70´s ( I never told any "Friend´s" about that Lancia, U are the first to knoW). And Allesandro Maccolini , catching all this ( maybe whit some help of input, I don´t want to know yet🤣). This Rewiew and all people behind this car, must be "totally sick"🤣, as myself. 2014/15 and U guys finaly build MY dreamcar, Affordable, whith My weightspecs, accelaration, beautie, consuption, WOW I starts to Cry now ( I´ve Bougt 1)........... only issue for me is at least in the US market we're given leather wrapped interiors, that 4C doesn't have that option and I think that's kind of discounting the car for value. the boot lid isn't even lined either like the US market. yikes lol
It is true that US has leather dashboard . But also they have extra weight +140kg 😉. So I think US version will be much less colectible and propably much cheaper 😊
@@lukaszmajewski2757 there's only about 2,700 units produced for the entire run of the 4C so they are all going to be valuable lmao why would the US one be less valuable when You got more for the money? Most of that weight was for crash test safety regulations as well so the 4C in the US is safer for an accident then the 4C in other markets.
@@wlteemo2734know in Europe , US versions of 4C are cheaper than EU versions. Price diffrence is about 10-15k USD .
