when the ending credits rolled for the movie, this song came on and i freaked out bc the voice of the singer was so familiar holy shit i didnt knew k.flay would make an amazing and badass soundtrack for an awesome movie .
So me and my wife went to see this movie as part of a three movie marathon, it was a good movie, but as soon as it ended some guy sitting two rows behind us announces loud enough for the whole cinema to hear "I preferred the Angelina Jolie movies." Okay I have nothing really against those movies but to compare them to the new one doesn't make sense, in those movies it was the Lara Croft we all knew and loved from the old games, the new movie is when she was young, unsure, inexperience and not the tomb raider we know. Yet. It's like comparing bread and toast, you don't instantly get toast you start with bread and you have to apply heat to get the result that is tasty toast. You don't throw a girl who's entire combat knowledge is kick boxing and has been a courier for most of her life to that point on a hostile jungle island with people trying to kill her and instantly get a perfect tomb raider, you got to apply the 'heat' to even start that process.
It's like how many people fond of Joker shat on the 2019 movie. People don't stop to look at the fact that it's pretty much the "coming into one's own self"/"origin" story. The "turning point" of a character's development into someone everyone knows...
