    Hi guys, I am enjoying your videos (Bulgarian here)! Can I help with one clarification - in the Orthodox church when they are not speaking modern Bulgarian they are speaking Old Bulgarian language, which is also internationally used by some Slavic churches and also known as Old Church Slavonic - that is also why modern Bulgarians cannot clearly understand most of it, especially when being sung by monks.
    I am sorry to hear about your experience with the smaller bank offices in smaller towns - the reason for that is the lack of English speakers with a pinch of bad manners and lack of professionalism.

    Congratulations guys I like your videos and I'm really happy about this big move.Im originally from Bulgaria and now im in Scotland Glasgow the last few years.the beginning its always hard,i was very happy over here but the last few years have been a nightmare for my health wise. I got a reaction from my COVID-19 vaccine in 2021 and now I'm vaccine-injured with bad health and no help from the government and NHS and really difficult because I believe all these lies about how safe they are.Im thinking back home a lot and im really miss my country.Im watching random videos in RUclips about Foriners' move to Bulgaria. Good job guys keep going with the good work.

      @dieselpete4053 Hi 👋🏻 Good Question! 👍🏻.. We have been here 5 years and each winter has been slightly different to the last... It's fairly similar to Edinburgh but when have a big snowstorm we get over 12 inches of snow.. Check my video from last November.. that was nearly 18" and destroyed a lot of trees...

    The people who are not nice to you are just not nice. I am Bulgarian who isn’t living in Bulgaria and somehow I am always shocked when people are not nice there for absolutely no reason at all.

      Hi Vihra, Thank you for your comment, I've had other Bulgarians that we know and don't know say the same thing and are really surprised and disappointed with their fellow people.. I think it's maybe the way they were brought up with that anti foreign attitude... Hope it changes in a positive way .. Thanks for watching! Dave x

    I know 3 other Americans here in Sofia....I don't associate at all with them. I consider them friends but, all my friends that I associate with are Bulgarian. the head shake and head nod really threw me off for a few months. But I got use to it now after almost 5 years. The language is REALLY hard for me since I have a heavy southern accent so some of the sounds I cannot pronounce properly...but it's great for laughs.

    If it was an Orthodox baptism, they would not have understood. Church books are read in Old Bulgarian, however, and this makes it a bit difficult. Otherwise, the priest explains and preaches in Bulgarian.

    So there is a BG toll on top of the road tax (sticker)?

    • @ScotsmanInBulgaria
      @ScotsmanInBulgaria  Год назад +1

      You should have 2 stickers .. one for the MOT for your car (placed above the mirror on windscreen) and other is for Car insurance which is placed to the side of windscreen. The BG Toll is separate and you just need to keep a printed copy in your car.. You MUST have evidence of these or you will fined.. Hope this helps! 🙏🏻.. Please share my channel! 🙏🏻👍🏻☺️

    When returning the plate from the banitsa back, put something you made yourself in it : ) Never give it back empty. I think that the people in the banks didn't speak any English, more than being nationalist

    • @ScotsmanInBulgaria
      @ScotsmanInBulgaria  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, we have learned that trick with the Banitsa plus when you visit a neighbour you always take something... They certainly do when they drop round... We even took an interpretator with us to the banks but said No foreigners... We said your loss .. less a customer...
