I have built about 30 miniature houses from Robotime and I have always used their glue. No issues, perfect glue, dries in a couple of seconds and since it is with the kit I don't have to get my own glue. Also I always have leftover glue from them and I use it for everything in the house. Even glass can be glued with it. Just because the bottle doesn't have a fancy label that says superglue, doesn't mean it isn't superglue.

Getting a set of cheap legos from the dollar store also helps to brace things and make sure they're straight while the glue on them is drying. This works for walls and furniture pretty well. Thanks for these tips on the robotime kits! Aliexpress is also a good place to shop for them but the shipping is super long.

I haven’t tried Aliexpress yet, but I thought it might be a good resource to stock up on a couple of kits for rainy days!
I love the LEGO idea, too!

All great tips-in the video and the comments. I have a few more that have helped me over the years. Someone said to copy the sheets with the pieces you need to cut out and I totally agree. And, if you are lucky enough to have a Brother Scan n Cut, it will cut out the tiniest of those pieces for you in intricate detail. It has saved me hours. If something should go wrong, you have the copies as back up. I also have a wire bending jig, available in any craft store, that helps with those weird wire designs often called for. I also purchased a Kotto third hand soldering stand on Amazon. It was not expensive and in addition to holding wires for soldering it is a great help for holding tiny parts for painting or glue drying. The arms are magnetic so can be moved to any position. I also agree that soldering is the way to go for the lighting. It is easy to learn. You can get a complete kit for $10 at Walmart. On more than one occasion I have had a connection come loose when the connection was just twisted and taped, even with heat shrink tubing applied when the finished model was moved and to fix it requires tearing all your hard work apart. I also get extra chip lighting kits from Evan Designs to keep on hand if the ones in the kit don’t work. When folding thick materials like card stock, if you lightly score it with an X-acto knife, it will fold cleanly. I use a number of glues, Beacon 3 in 1(which will glue most anything but is difficult to work with and has strong fumes), Art Glitter Glue which is a great all purpose white glue available on Amazon, super glue and a bit of the white glue for an instant bond, fabric glues and E-6000 when indicated. To affix some fiddly beads or findings I occasionally use resin and a UV flashlight which I order super cheap from Ali Express. I keep white glues in jars covered with Press n Seal while I’m using them and later use to insure a tight seal when I screw the cap on. I apply the glue with paintbrushes which I just keep in a jar of water between uses. While I love the fine tips, I hate the way they constantly clog and the brush accomplishes the task with a smoother, thinner application. Finally, I have 2 magnetic gluing jigs from Micro Mark which I have used for over 20 years but are still available. If you plan to do much gluing of mini wood pieces I can’t recommend them too highly. They are $30 each but money well spent.

I used the glue in the kit and loved it. It dried in less than a minute and did not stick my fingers together. The kit I did (Lisa's Tailor by Robotime) also came with white glue. The instructions tell you what materials to use which glues with.

Here I am a year later seeing this... I don't know why I haven't done a search for more videos showing DIY kit crafters. I love it. I follow Tiny Little Things... and have for maybe about a year or a little over a year. I purchased a kit that she showcased in one of her videos that I just could not pass by. BUT... it still sits untouched. I lack the confidence. But the more I explore RUclips for other DIY kit crafters... I am encouraged. The main thing that was holding ME back was the glue. I had NO IDEA there were soooo many kinds of glue out there. So today, on Amazon, I purchased a few different glues and hopefully be merrily on my way to completing my first kit. I intend to enjoy the process... not rush it. I think one of the drawbacks of seeing some of the kit assembly videos is that you are seeing a kit from beginning to end in less than 10 or 20 minutes *10 being top speed*... In reality, I believe it will take a lot more time than that!! :) I have all the other elements I think I need as far as tweezers, scissors, etc... etc... the thing that was kind of holding me back was the glue. Hopefully I fixed that. Thank you for this video. I AM moving forward... just as soon as my glue arrives. Hugs, Penny

I’ve put a lot of these houses together and a good tip is to use several different kinds of glue for it. Glue sticks work great for the paper items because it keeps the paper from warping. Wood glue or super glue GEL works well for the wood pieces. Fabric glue is good for when you are putting things like little pillows together, but for most things a super glue gel or fast drying glue works the best otherwise you’ll be sitting there holding pieces together forever. I don’t recommend hot glue for many reasons, trust me don’t use hot glue.
Another good thing to have are many sizes of binder clips, a REALLY GOOD pair of sharp, fine tip scissors for cutting those tiny pieces of paper. Other good items to have are a small ruler, tweezers, wire cutters, Xacto blade, paint brushes, and a disposable plate(to put glues on).
You can customize these stats to make them any way you want with the right extras, like paint, clay, etc… some of these kits are not in English but you can usually find someone on RUclips that has a video where they have already put one together that you can watch. I hope this helps ☺️

Yes i do know what you are talking about ....the missing parts in the kits ... thats why i always do an inventory .to check for missing parts ..i once got a dollhouse kit that had 8 missing pieces ...oh ...i was fustrated .....so they were wooden parts parts missing ...but small pieces ... so i though what if i used cardboard ..so i cut out a similar piece out of cardboard glued layers of cardboard to the thickness ...sanded it ..then painted it ... it worked ..i also had a complicated wood piece shape that was missing ...so i was thinking how do i fix this ..so went to micheals ..got fimo sculpture stuff ...roll out the dough ...and cut the piece out ...bake it ..sand it down.... and paint it ......alot of the times it maybe a small piece of wood part that is missing or a bead ,etc ...those are easy replaceable ....you know those wooden sheets that have some lazer cut wood pieces that you punch out ...i save those left over pieces ...why ....because they can be cut down and replace any of those tiny bitty parts ...plus i made ....dollhouse "food" out of them .... sometimes you have to think out the box so speak when making up these dollhouse kits...i hope this helps you

Yours turned out really nice. You can't ship batteries and glue overseas, but I do get some glue occasionally. I'd invest in some hobby wire strippers for the wiring if you plan to build bigger houses with multiple lights. You need strippers that go all the way to 30 or .25 mm.
