Unbelievable Fernando. You continue to surprise and impress with radios that the majority of people have never seen before. Thank you for this!

Hi Fernando, I still have the AME 7G-1680 MA. I was lucky to buy from a guys in France in 1982. Never changed a tube since then. Al l tubes in my knowledge are original. I spent this mid day listening to Radio Romania, China International. I really miss the glorious days of shortwave broadcasting in the 70s to 90s. That was a period I enjoyed listening to broadcasting stations like Radio N'djamena ( Tchad), Nigeria Broadcasting Corp, Ghana Broadcasting Corp,. and many other stations. This radio is so sensitive that one may have the feeling of hearing a mosquito flying in the rain forest. Well gone are those days of shortwave apogee.. Hope to leave long to see DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) Boadcasting and receivers become widely available on the market.

Thank you Roland! Yes, it’s true that so many of the shortwave broadcasts aregone. But there is still plenty to listen to. I am listening right now to Radio Thailand in English, booming on 7475 khz. They sound great on the old AME. Many stations, including the BBC, Vatican Radio, Radio France and quite a few others have increased their transmissions on shortwave very substantially, as of recent, because of the international situation. Thanks again Roland, best regards.

@@jonglei I will find a user manual for you. But it covers the 7g series only. I will send you a link off RUclips. Just spent sometime listening the evening broadcast bands. Don’t sell or get rid of your radio. They are too precious😁😁😁

Really perfect! Very rare, never seen this one and looks so solid. Sounds wonderful. The next days I have to pick up a Rohde and Schwarz EK07. Also very heavy. 65kg. I have to look how to carry it... All the best! Regards.

It is indeed a rare find, and I am very glad I found it. Be careful with the EK07 and get some help to carry it. Don't attempt to do it alone!

Fernando that is a Beautiful Receiver . You are lucky to find it in great shape. What kind of antenna do you use? I am always looking for Radios any time I am in a thrift shop but no luck so far .
Great Rig Fernando. Thanks for the video

Thanks a lot Duane. The antenna I was using when I shot the video was a piece of wire about 20m long. This radio was a lucky find indeed, here in Spain. There are at least 2 military surplus dealers in the south of France who still have units of the AME 7G in stock in different condition, and they are not expensive at all, but they won’t ship them because of their massive weight, so it’s collect only and of course that is an issue unless you live nearby.
