The song is from the Downton Abbey soundtrack and it's called "Did I Make The Most of Loving You", sung by Mary-Jess.
Supposedly, she wrote the song for the soundtrack with Mary and Matthew in mind, so a very fitting song for them I think. And thanks to eolivet for suggesting this song to me.
Let's hope the "endless, lonely days are through" in the Christmas special!

It's sad to see this video after last night's finale. It's hard to believe that they've designed such a violent means as Matthew's exit from the show. RIP Matthew Crawley, M/M fans like myself will always consider you as Lady Mary's soulmate.
Well Dan Stevens said basically at the last minute that he was leaving so they didn’t have the time to prepare and plan like with Sybil’s death and so this was the easiest way to do it. Also it aired on Christmas in some parts of the world so they wanted people to at least enjoy most of the episode. Still, they were my favorite pair on the show no comparison and it was absolutely heartbreaking. SPOILER: Mary’s second husband/marriage isn’t nearly as heartfelt and passionate. RIP Matthew. But just imagine if their child was a girl; the show would have been back to season 1 episode one.
This song memorizes M/M love story very well. Still missing you each "Downton Day," Matthew. DA is not the same without you :-(.

I watch Downton in a loop a couple times a year. It's my perfect escape from reality. I see new things every time I loop through. I love it!

Such a lovely couple. I hate to see Matthew (Dan Stevens) go next season as all the rumors stated in recent weeks. M/M are soulmates and Downton won't be the same without Matthew Crawley on scene anymore.

Hell yes! I was waiting for someone to vid these two to this song, and it's glorious! :D
The answer to the question, "Did I make the most of loving you?" is a resounding "NO!" So many times they dropped the ball with each other (eg. when Matthew suggests to Mary they should see more of each other....but there is no indication that they ever went on one date). Mary could have stayed in Downton when the family went to London - to spend time with Matthew after he proposed. Things like that... Radical move, I admit, but necessary. What do you think?
I feel Mary did NOT make the most of loving Matthew, or the love they could have shared. Would he have volunteered for the front lines, had she given him hope his love would be reciprocated?

I felt sorry for Mr Fellows having to completely rewrite the story after DAN decided to leave. I don’t think the series would have gone on for so long if Mary had stayed married to Mathew.

Watching this, knowing how their story ends, is heartbreaking. While I hate that Matthew died, I do think it made way for Mary to have the character development she needed.

It hurts because this song fits their story so achingly beautiful. My heart still weeps for Matthew and Mary and the longer time they were denied of. Gosh, they could've been so, so happy.
Thank you for this brilliant, creative video. The music is beautiful and so fitting for this couple, and the scenes you chose and the sequence works seamlessly and flows with the lyrics. Just wow. And wow again. And these scenes show again the great job these two actors do, communicating so much to us with such subtle face and body movement.
