This brings back memories to my military service as a conscript soldier... Swearing the military oath and seeing this beautiful flag swing with the wind as we sing this song 💪🏻🤩

Wirklich wunderschönes Lied, Danke! Der Klang erinnert mich irgendwie an "Nun danket alle Gott".

May I have a question? What does "Lippulaulu" mean? I assume that "laulu" means "a song", but no idea in regards of the rest... xD

It means "Flag song", this is a song dedicated to the Finnish flag.

@@PatriotFinn Oh, that's hilarious! That would explain, why the song is so majestic... As far as I am concerned, there is no flag song in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿 where I'm from. However, the Czech President has his own flag called a "standard". Does the Lippulaulu have an official status in Finland or is commonly used nowadays?

@@dernochjungenoergler Not really official, it's just sung when the flag is raised on Midsummer and Independence Day

@@PatriotFinn Wow, interesting to find out, thank you! The Midsummer in few days must be a terrific experience... In CZ there isn't really such a holiday, but the independence day on 28th of October is perceived as the most important national holiday, since it commemorates the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918. On this day the President also ceremonially awards the state decorations.
