Beautifull reaction. Do you know what will make this band special forever? The fact that they grew up together, from early adolescence to now, each of them bringing their own little baggage and developing it together with the others. It is this that allows Maneskin to always be credible, honest and full of different emotions, any of the thousands aspects of rock they touch.

It's awesome when you can hear the history of the band shine thru via their music, makes it a lot easier to connect with

But the lyrics even add so much extra. Damiano is truly a poet.

  • @vpersiana

And here they were just 17/19yo, and that's their own music and lyrics. Can you believe that?
This is a love song for music (Marlena is the name they give to their music and inspiration) and about writer's block (Marlena come back home cause I'm afraid of disappearing).
Another awesome ballad (better than this imho, more raw) is Coraline. Watch it with English lyrics and you wouldn't regret it ❤️

The genius of many Maneskin pieces is that you DON’T need to know every word to feel the song. I agree that a look at the lyrics can add more, and sometimes much more(as in Coraline). But, I listen to music for feelings and vibes, as much as the literal lyrics. You guys clearly get this about music also. Nice reaction!. Do a hard rock piece from them like In Nome Del Padre or Zite E Buoni, then “Coraline which is a true masterpiece of emotion

When you get around to “Coraline” (which is a must). Below is a link to a live version with a good translation. But, I recommend that non Italian listeners listen once through without focusing too much on the lyrics and then again with an emphasis on the poetic lyrics. Damiano uses lots of symbolism and metaphors which can’t be absorbed that quickly while also listening to the beautiful music.
Just me of course, but one of the most amazingly emotional pieces of music I have heard in many years.

@@randolphh8005 I believe that music finds its way into people's hearts in whatever language it is written. For example, when I was little I often listened to the soundtrack of Final Fantasy X (a video game). I don't understand a word of what the singer says, (I think they are japanese songs) but it conveys something ... the music serves to convey something, even if you don't understand the words. If it does, it's a master piece. :)

If you watch the video for Le Parole Lontaine the figure from the end in the bath- Marlena, appears again as a sort of extension of the series focusing on their relationship with the muse. I was the same as you, long before I found the English meaning this song just hit me with emotion anyway- i's one of the reasons I love this band that they can do that so well.

Here are the translated lyrics of Torna A Casa:
    Come Back Home
I'm walking through my city, the wind is blowing hard
I left everything behind, the sun's on the horizon
I see houses from afar, they closed the doors
But luckily I've got her hand and her red cheeks
She pulled me up from the ground covered with thorns
With a thousand snakes' bites, motionless through the coils
She didn't listen to those bastards and their cursing
With one look she convinced me to pack my bags and leave
And this is a journey no one's ever made before
Alice and her wonders, the mad hatter
We'll walk along this road and I'll never be tired
Until time brings white onto your hair
Just a paper sheet and half a cigarette are left in my hand
Let's stay a little longer, we're not in a hurry
Because I've got a sentence written in my head, but I've never said it
Because life without you can't be perfect
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, because I'm afraid I'll disappear
And the sky is slowly becoming transparent here
The sun is illuminating the people's weaknesses
A salty tear wets my cheek, while
She sweetly caresses my face with her hand
With blood on my hands I'll climb all the peaks
I want to get where the human eye stops
In order to learn to forgive all of my sins
Because sometimes even angels are afraid of death
Just a paper sheet and half a cigarette are left in my hand
Let's run away from those who are too thirsty for revenge
From this motionless land, because I'm feeling it stifling now
Yesterday I was quiet because today I'll be the storm
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, because I don't want anymore...
Before you I was just a lunatic, let me tell you now
I wore a creased jacket and cuts on my wrists
Today I feel blessed and can't find anything else to add
This city will look out when it sees us arrive
I was in the balance between being the victim and being the judge
I was a shiver that brings light to darkness
And sets you free from these bright shiny chains
And I'm in doubt, whether they were deaths or rebirths
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back, because I don't want to disappear anymore, ah ah ah
Ah ah, nai nai nai nai
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, because I'm afraid I'll disappear
