I think you nearly got the real meaning of this song. In fact "Marlena" is the band' s (or just Damiano's) inspiring muse.
Very good reaction : you are an intelligent, sensitive and well educated boy!

I just explain a thing you study at high school in Italy: italian was born in 1200 from "dolce stil novo", which was a language developed to tell poetry in public. Problem is , in 1200 poetry was not just "talk", the mesestrel had an instrument and was singing the poetry. So Italian has the music built in in the core. This is why many germans tell me that when we speak it seems we sing...

the crazy thing about them is that they are amazing but they are also very very young, it's unbelievable. Damiano the lead singer is only 22, Victoria de bassist is 21 and Ethan the drummer is 20 and Thomas the guitar player is also 20

Hola is spanish :) In italian it's Salve or the more informal Ciao, but we like mixing it up, spanish are our 'cousins' after all. I suggest you to learn languages because you have a very good pronunciation and if you're a natural to identify the right tones (and that also means you're good at music) it's gonna be smooth.
2:01 applause to that attitude, I've noticed people already get you in the comment section.
When you're saying it's a poem plus rapping plus singing, here is common to have them all mixed up because we're used to talk and get passionate to make you part of our experience, and they're singing and playing music like this: they're gently telling you a story but mostly their feelings. Torna a casa have not the only meaning of 'Come back home', the way they're saying it it's a soft almost romantic plead perceived as 'please, please come back to me' and they're playing it accordingly, and if someone you know tells you 'torna a casa' in that way (not singing it but with that tone) in that moment you can feel their heart, and yours, drop.
13:57 there is when people may think italians are often angry, but he's desperately pleading his loss and hope and love to have his saviour back (a person or an inspiration), he's suffering in a soothing way (as when you need to cry and finally let it go to feel better)
Their video is not really following the words, they're two complementary stories dancing together, they're showing art (the place they're in) and something beautiful broken inside, trapped in the body she has, unable to express herself like he is without the muse he's talking about, but she's not 'him', she's more like 'the muse', they're both broken and lost, and later in the video she's there standing up between them and they don't interact (even if they seem to do it because they're in tune with each others) and in the final plead he has his eyes covered by her as he's telling us: my muse (singing and art) is here with me but I cannot see her, she's the one I miss, she's the one that makes me dream, and she's the ones who blinds me, who fogs my mind because I need her so much to find myself.
You know it says italians spoke with hands, like we're saying the same thing with them...but it's not quite right, we 'add' something new to our story with gestures. With facial expressions and tones we're telling you something, and with hands we're adding a second layer that can have a very different meaning. For example: we may not sound sarcastic at all, but with our hands we're telling you we're lying because we are indeed sarcastic; so people who learn italian and our gestures may think they get it at the beginning but usually they only follow our words and sees our movements as confirming that same story, but when they live here for a decade they really start to catch the duality of our communication. That's why italians seem to ask you to really pay them attention, because you have to to understand not only what they're telling you but also what they don't and only suggest, like a secret message between you, and for that reason when you bond to an italian you're f*cked for life XD Italians who speak english (or italo-americans) lose the soft duality because english is simpler and more precise, more direct, while in italian it's more like you have to build a phrase around what you mean, we tend to use more words and be very articulate and 'paint a picture' with them instead of going straight to the point...we don't really have 'straight to the point' words, everything can be interpreted, everything is a journey to understand one another, italians needs constant interactions, we're sharing ourselves and we don't say the exact truth (or we subvert what we just says) so you have to follow us and show you care. That's the reason why you feel that music so enticing.

Yes U're right about the words with A-A, We some time cut one vowel wend are the same but not wend we writhe, just wend we spoke. But after we have a lot of abbreviations even in writhe like: "Poco - po', Male - mal, Dimmi - Dì, quello - quel, etc".

Usually their songs are really soft like "la guerra di Piero" by Fabrizio de André, but the lyrics is beautiful. Or "tanti auguri" by Raffaella Carrà, which talks about women love independence, actually she was the first Italian singer who talked about women free love and free sexualty
