    We done Swiss alps last august planned loads of hikes but was a heatwave of at least 34 degrees most days so took cable cars and trains and just took walks along tops

    Great video. I’m heading to Chamonix on Monday and hoping to hike the Lac Blanc trail. The insight you’ve provided with this video has been very useful. I’m only there for 2 days so the smaller walks you mentioned will be just the tonic to warm me up for Lac Blanc. All the best on your future adventures😀🥾

    Thanks for this video. I'm going in September and need some ideas of where to hike. Question - is there a way to get a train that gets you closer to Lac Blanc? Asking if we don't have a full day to hike there.

    • @MikeandLauraTravel
      @MikeandLauraTravel  2 года назад +1

      There is not a train but there is a cable car I believe. Hope this helps! Thanks for asking Rhanz

    Thank you for this insightful video! If you don't mind me asking, do you think hiking is still an option in April? We're planning a trip towards the end of April 2023 and can't seem to find much information to help us decide if we should add Chamonix to our itinerary. Thanks in advance!

      Great question! We didn't get the chance to be there during the month of April, but from the looks of it, there will be more rain then as well as mostly cool days. Going outside for hikes would be limited. I assume sunshine in general may be limited. We would never discourage anyone from going to such a wonderful place and there were rainy days while we were there. There is so much to do there! If you go, safe travels!!!

    Thank you, the app you are mentioning is very usefull. Question, what is the name of the honorable mention lake? I didnt catch.

    • @MikeandLauraTravel
      @MikeandLauraTravel  Год назад

      I believe we were mentioning more of a park with a small lake. Promenade du Lac des Gaillands, very nice day walking area, you'll find a lot of people enjoy this area. very pleasant park!

    Thanks a lot for this video guys! I'm headed to Chamonix mid-May, and was worried I wouldn't be able to hike much, given that lifts don't begin operating before June. Now I know of atleast 5 hikes I can do without needing lifts!
    1 question - was that the Petit Balcon Nord, or Sud?
    Thanks a lot!

    • @MikeandLauraTravel
      @MikeandLauraTravel  2 года назад

      We had to double check, but we think it's the Sud. We hope you have a great time there! Thank you for the kind words!

    Lovely video. Can i ask for some advice please? I will go this summer to Chamonix but i hate planing anything.
    a) Is it possible to camp somewhere in chamonix or around and do small treks and adventures every day while my tent and some personal belongings will be at the camp?
    b) Do you have any information about guided via ferratas maybe that you could share with us?

    • @MikeandLauraTravel
      @MikeandLauraTravel  2 года назад +1

      These are great questions Giorgos! Unfortunately during our visit it wasn't exactly camping season. Hopefully someone else can leave you a better more informational comment here so that we can all figure that out.
      Also, if you end up getting into these experiences please share that with us here! That would be amazing! Safe travels!

    Hello guys,
    I watched all your videos from chamonix and I would like to ask you why you choose to start from the city and not to take the gondola and spend more time on the mountains? It was about money? There are to expensive? Any advice would be appreciated, we travel on a budget and is good to know before arriving there :)

    • @MikeandLauraTravel
      @MikeandLauraTravel  2 года назад

      There is an easier way for sure, and most people do come from the side with the Gondola. We stayed in Chamonix for an entire month and honestly we just love hiking. The hike is totally worth it, and actually someone just commented a few weeks back that they had done the hike and that it was amazing! You can do it! saving money for the gondola is also a plus! (No pressure)
      How long will you be there? It is a fairly pricey town... we would suggest shopping at a local grocery store named Carrefour market for the cheapest groceries.
      Thanks for asking Mariana!
