  • We are stoked to present the 4ocean Mobile Skimmer! We custom manufactured this vessel to expedite the process of collecting accumulated plastic out of the ocean. We've been testing the vessel locally, and are excited to deploy it at our international locations where it can have the most impact. The Mobile Skimmer will have a crew member dedicated to monitoring the conveyor to ensure that organic matter and sea life are returned to the ocean before making its way to the super sack. While we know producing these machines won't end the ocean plastic crisis, it will do a great job at combating the plastic that already exists in the high impact areas in which it will be deployed and help raise awareness about this global problem. Stay tuned!
    For any information requests on the Mobile Skimmer, please reach out to 4oceantech@4ocean.com

      This machine doesn't "work" in real life. They even say so. The organic matter cannot be removed. We can build passive collection systems for floating debris. The hurdle is separation of marine life and organics before the plastic is removed.

    • @evana1900
      @evana1900 5 лет назад +6

      These vessels are already mass produced and used through out the world. They are called aquatic weed harvesters. Used to clean areas of sea weed. It’s not custom made for anything. It even says in the video it collects to much organic matter. That’s because it is designed to collect organic matter. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquatic_weed_harvester

A Florida man made fish food things (can't remember the name of the thing). If we just follow that idea and spread it around the world, we would be able to save this planet.

      @noah lawrence you know how much fucking money these things cost (they dont get the money from taxes) im a mechanic and by understanding the build i can tell you it is NOT cheap, they might make money, however they are cleaning the environment a ton and saving marine life, what about the clothing companies you probably cave into that dont use the profit to build more machines to help this cause, im almost positive that they use the money to build more of these and work on new ones to help the environment.

I think it might be better to have one's this size or a little smaller but design them like Roomba's that are autonomous and have a big mother ship that can deploy them. That way they can go out, fill up on garbage, unload on the mother ship and back at it again.

    I LOVE you 4ocean so so much because you guys are making a very big effort to take care of the wonderful ocean. It makes me cry so much to see the coral reefs getting bleached from pollution from humans, and all the garbage that is in the ocean and you guys help remove that trash. And that means so very much to me:) Also, everybody that sees this comment, next time you are on a beach vacation or something, take some time to take care of our wonderful ocean.

      Hi there! The Mobile Skimmer will have two individuals running the vessel at all times. One person will be driving the vessel, and one will be sorting through the collected materials as they come up and over the conveyor belt to return seaweed, any sea animals, and organics that do not belong in the super sack, back to water. 🌊

      Hi there! We actually do utilize boats with crew members and nets, and we have been since we started operation in 2017. We've invested into creating this revolutionary ocean-cleaning technology because it's going to speed up our cleanup process and allow us to collect more trash. It does have an EPA-compliant fuel tank system and we are on track to be carbon-neutral for 2019, just as we were for 2018.

      While there is a pivotal role for government to play in the ocean trash crisis, we're proud to be bringing a business solution. With that, our aim would be for local governments, communities or associations to see the value in having the Mobile Skimmer keeping the water clean and are open to discussing with any and all. Until then though, we're stoked to be bringing this new technology to high impact regions in Haiti and Bali in the near future.
