    Appreciate the channel and glad to see this video. Will just add my experience. Ordered LCP for the 12 pro max with intention of adding moment lenses and/or sirui lenses. Seemed like a dream case for my purposes. Received LCP first and was digging it, but a) it bent the admittedly fragile sirui lens bayonets almost immediately, b) couldn’t get the moment lenses to turn all the way despite a significant amount of applied force, which is more of an issue with anamorphic, and c) then was informed by moment customer support that they specifically do not recommend LCP as it was not officially part of their partner program and there have been reports of breakage, especially with the anamorphic. So returned the LCP. Bummed to lose the easy filter system and grip, but not up for damaging lenses that could otherwise have some solid shelf life. Most LCP reviews on RUclips aren’t saying much about this issue, but it was pretty obvious that something was not right. One other observation - I found the moment MagSafe case to have a noticeably stronger hold to the tripod mount than the LCP case.

      Interesting. I’ve used every Moment lens extensively on that case with no problems. Actually worked great. It was a snug fit at first but after a few uses the mount loosened up, but I actually prefer a tighter grip as I thought some of the mounts in the past have been too loose or almost flimsy. But definitely thanks for sharing your experience that’s good to know and will keep a lookout for any issues like that. Thanks for watching!

    Must admit purchased a previous Moment case until the lens case are broke up into bits as it was so thin. So a little afraid of buying any new version...sorry Moment

    Already beat you there! I fiddled with my case for 1/2 hour or so until I realized that wasn't trim! BTW The Beastcage for the iPhone 12 Pro Max is quite good as is the updated DOF adapter!

    Great review! Is it possible to mount 58mm Moment M Series lens onto a Polarpro Iphone 13 pro case?

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Год назад +1

      No, the 13 they went with their proprietary mount. But then on the 14 they went back to the Moment mount.

    Good comparison. I was curious about the Moment case but as the LCP case came out sooner, I never bothered. That said, I don't like my LCP case as it's quite flimsy when compared with my favorite case, dbrand's Grip case. I wish they made a version of the Grip case that also supports the LCP's camera grip and bayonet mount. For me, that would be the perfect case.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  3 года назад

      I have found it to be solid, but if you’re used to that one or bigger cases like even OtterBox then yeah it’s more of a thin style case that is of course fairly feature-packed especially for mobile video and filmmaking. But yeah, there is no perfect case. :)

      With the 12 Pro version, yes you can. With the 13 Pro, no - they changed the mount.

    What cameras do you use when filming your RUclips video indoors and for the overhead product view? (and what lens if applicable)? 24fps? 30?

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  3 года назад +1

      Here I’m using a Canon XC10 for the overhead shot (built-in zoom lens) shooting 24p. The side angle is a Sony a6400. But I often use my iPhone or an Osmo Action or my Blackmagic Pocket 4K. Just depends on my mood. ;)

    So the PolarPro LiteChaser uses the same interface/mount as Moments M-series? I have a Moondog Lab lens in use with a Moment M-series case. But i am gonna switch to a newer model iPhone, thus in need of a new case. And importing a Moment case from the us is quite expensive.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  2 года назад

      The iPhone 12 pro version did, but not the 13 Pro. I wish I did, but they changed to their own proprietary lens mount. And oddly the lenses have not shipped. Or at least last time I checked. They were having trouble with supply chain issues. So for getting a 12 then yes it would work, but if you get a 13, no.

    Hey Blake
    How about the handle/grip thing on the Polar Pro. Is that not one of the great features on the PP.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  3 года назад +1

      Yes I like that. Although recently I tend to just leave it on a tripod or a gimbal more than anything. But it’s a nice feature.

      @@iphoneographers Since you're a trained professional YMMV. How about putting yourself in amateur boots who is simply using an iPhone as a phone et al and takes the occasional photo/video. Does the LiteChaser Pro grip seem more useful for the casual user going for a stroll on vacation (few pocket - shorts and T) so no desire to pack or even own a lot of gear? (which in the end for most people is the main draw to using a phone as a camera)

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  3 года назад

      The grip could be nice because it also comes with an optional Bluetooth shutter and so doing photography is easy that way and almost feels like a traditional camera. But like I say in the video here, for casual users and every day carry I would probably go with the Moment case.

    Thanks for the video. Actually I am curious about something, are there any anamorphic 1.55x lenses that can attach directly to any of these cases with the Moment bayone-style mount? Thanks again for the review :)

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  3 года назад

      Don’t believe so. The two 1.55x I’ve seen are the Sandmarc that has a proprietary mount or maybe a clip-on too - and then the Beastgrip which if memory serves is a 37mm screw on mount.

    • @iphoneographers

      Yes there are a couple ways. Personal favorite is to use the Moondog Labs Multi camera filter mount. Link for it is in the description of this video.

      They fit on it fine, and they work ok depending on the scenario. You’ll still get some aberrations but they can be hidden. For example, if you’re shooting a long lens shot with shallow DOF you may not notice it.
