So many fallen flags and so many named passenger trains which never existed during my lifetime. It's nice to see the variety there once was, and very nice to see railroading in general before every degenerate with a backpack of stolen spray cans defaced every car and locomotive.
2:31 That is Missouri Kansas Texas RS3M 142, that same engine is preserved. Nice seeing colored footage of the M-K-T, wish there was more footage of their steam engines.
I'm 30 so all I know is modern railroading. St. Louis had so many road names coming in and out of the city back then. Kind of a shame Union Station is now a shell of its former self. Still some good railroading action to be seen here today though! Mitchell and Kirkwood is where I railfan the most.

Sad to see once long passenger trains shrivel up to such short trains. Greetings from Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
I Railfan in Mitchell all the time and it’s so cool to see these old trains running through there
I railfan there sometimes too!
@@JDERailCorp nice
Interesting film! My stepdad worked in St. Louis and all over the mid-west!
Cool. What kind of diesel locomotives did he work on?
