i get why everyone is talking abt oikawa, but put some respect on kags name too! he might be a prodigy but good serves require a lot of practice and in this context, lots of concentration. he worked really hard to get where he is

It's true that he learned how to serve by watching oikawa, but don't ignore his effort. Oikawa didn't teach him, he always promise that he will teach him but he didn't, kageyama just watched him. His teammates before always run away from him if he ask them hit some of his tosses, so he always practice alone with his serves instead, one of the reason why his serves is one of the safest serves in Karasuno. He learned it by watching, but he's the one made effort to improve it, just like hinata in the training camp. He just watched them, but he's the one who makes effort. Put some respect on his name. He's the one who works hard for it.

I hate how the comments are only talking about Oikawa when this video is on and is about Kageyama. It’s so immature.
While Oikawa had a lot of influence on and even taught Kageyama where he just set an example, none of that matters if Kageyama couldn’t follow through with it.
He also put in his effort and hard work that deserves to be acknowledged. A person’s influence and teaching results to nothing without putting in the work for it.
Kageyama was the one that got 2 no touch aces in a row against Inarizaki, a team that’s been in the nationals plenty of times.
Kageyama and karasuno beat shiratorizawa and made it to the nationals at this point in the show, not Oikawa and seijoh. Karasuno and Kageyama rose above Oikawa and Seijoh but achieving something they never could have and did.
Kageyama is an amazing setter and server who has results to prove it. He deserves to be given credit and acknowledged. Not to be brushed off at all.
This is Kageyama’s ability, talent, execution and results alone, not Oikawa’s.

It's was stated as well that he is good in any position. I don't know if Coach Ukai said that i forgot but It was stated in one of the episodes. but still, hoshifumi wins more cause he is shorter that makes people will amazed more on him
He's a lot like Rukawa from Slam dunk since they are often the best in all aspects of the game and are the only one to be able to play in a certain role but can play in any role
the thing is Rukawa had both a personal struggle with his limits and a rival struggle since he had players who take his exact role but he could not match them and were always a step above (obviously they are Sendoh and Sawakita)
Kageyama on the other hand has no match. Even Atsumu sometimes fails Kageyama's consistent minus tempo because "I can't be as precise as him". Also when Kageyama is playing like his usual self no middle blocker in the story can shut him down to the point the team can't rely on his strongest moves.
So in a way Hinata has a most intresting relationships with his rivals because eating the dust makes you really change the way you play. Kageyama never really need that because he was that good from the beginning and needed to mature.
The third serve from the episode looked a lot like how oikawa was serving
