#MWO (#MechwarriorOnline) by Piranha Games. Free to play at mwomercs.com. MechWarrior Online is a free-to-play vehicular combat video game, officially launched during September 2013 by Piranha Games for Microsoft Windows. The game takes place within the larger #BattleTech universe. In MechWarrior: Online, players takes the role of aMechWarrior who pilots large bipedal combat vehicles known as BattleMechs (Mech for short). Players can customize their BattleMech with an array of weapons and equipment, and engage in 12 versus 12 battles, the outcome of which earns the players experience and c-bills for future BattleMech purchases and customization. There are currently seven game modes that involve protecting and attacking a single base (Assault), capturing and holding several points (Conquest), take and hold the center of the map (Domination), attacking a space defense system (Siege/Counter-Attack), protecting and attacking field bases with turrets and walls spread across the map (Incursion), and team death-match (Skirmish)."

Artillery is artillery. The skilllords have a place in the battle, too.

to be honest the LRM boats provided great value to their team. While TTB was punishing the enemy team from Timbuktu they took advantage of the locks provided by their shortranged weaponry allies to shoot TTB with barrages that forced him to take cover and stop attacking enemies that cant really punish him with the range advantage. Is it a tactic that lacks skill? yes, but it is a important one. Maybe one day we might have a target sharing rework with the introduction of C3 and then it really becomes a game of tactics.

IMO the real problem with people running pure lrm builds is that most of them are sitting in the back not sharing Armour or contributing in any way except to fire on targets somebody has locked onto while they are out of harms way. selfish assholes. so I see why people get pissed off at them.
what I find is way more effective is to stick with the pack or some assault mechs providing them cover as they get in range to lay the hate down. I find I do way more damage and contribute more to the fight this way as I'm not afraid to take some hits and I'm gettingy own locks on mechs that are actual out in thd open so I'm not wasting missiles and softening up targets for others. I also don't play pure lrm builds cause it's nice to be able to do close in damage when I need to.
I'm far from being the best mechwarrior player but playing like that I can usually get 500 plus damage matches with at least 1 kill. I'm happy playing like a team and contributing that way.
my fav non archer build is a highlander IIC with 3 lrm 15s with artimis, a tag, 2 ultra ac 10s and a couple ermedium lasers. it's a little hot but it's effective at almost all ranges. I know it's not meta and a very battle tech type build but those er mediums sure come in handy towards the end of a match and I'm shot to hell without much ammo left. 😂😂
anyway if your not sharing aour early and running a build with lrms your just making yourself a farming target for the end of the match. Who thd hell finds that fun? I love pairing up with some brawlers and pushing through a line somewhere. that's when I have the most fun.

@@williamjago8630 I don't always LRM but when I do I have priorities. Deny dakka positions. Deal with pesky fast lights. But you have to keep moving. Assault boats are great but playing something like a Catapult is more rewarding.
The worst are the guys who say, "Press R and I'll make it rain". You need to be getting your own locks. Same with assaults, you need to be using your armor to allow other mechs to advance.

0:50 A few months ago, in the chat of a mw5 live, there was a guy saying that he didn't want to play MWO coz he was old and didn't have the reflexes of a younger person. So, I suggested him that he could be an LRM support guy, if he wanted. I don't know if that convinced him to join or not. I wouldn't shame on "skill lords".
I still remember that annoying but funny granpa mechwarrior voice in Battletech complaining that you woke him up when it`s his mech's turn :D

I need to learn how to LRM correctly. I don't want to be that asshole sitting in the back slinging shit at 900m.
I want to play a Catapult in the role it's meant to: Fire support, but like I said above, I don't want to be THAT kind of LRM player.
I wanna move with the pack, engage what my teammates are engaging, sharing armor, etc.
Is that ^ the proper way to go about it?

    • @Drgunzo616
      @Drgunzo616 Месяц назад

@@SLDFSpectreSix yes Catapult is great for that. Use jump jets to get positions and locks. Deal with pesky lights and deny mechs good firing positions. Use a tag and keep moving.
Playing a lrm boat to it's real strength is a skill. I like thunderbolts/atms as well more as an intermediate range fire support.

Lol u complain about “lrms skill” while standing still and pressing one button to shoot at the enemy dealing a lot of point damage. That is so absurd man
mwo is broken by one buttoned alfa assaults and u have no obvious right to complain while abusing the game
