So pleased so see you using our old caravan! Will be great to follow its adventures with you!
Take out the carpet,, it holds smells and spills. Put down lamenet and use area rugs that can be washed easily.
Holy crap, this like a 17 minute DJI power station commercial! 🥴
Yeah, not the first recent video that’s basically one big commercial either. All power to them if it works to maximise their revenue but I do sometimes find it super annoying tbh. Often hard to watch as well. But again, gotta make money, so I can’t blame them.
more like 11 minute sponsorship + 6 minute vlog
I love your vision for the outside. It currently looks perfectly presentable. I would concentrate your time and resources on making the inside and outside(awnings etc) more functional. As far as the flooring, I’m with you that carpeting is more comfortable but less cleanly. I would go with some sort of laminate and throw rugs that can be shaken outside.
DJI is such an amazing company, always producing the best gadgets on the market: power stations, mics, drones, what an informative video!!
Can't wait to see a full tour of the caravan and your plans for it!!!
We use my dads hymer motor home which is a 90’s retro beauty! Think you should embrace the the retro interior it looks great!! And most probably way better quality than newer stuff. Maybe change the old 3 way fridge for a compressor one or just run it on gas!
I have a caravan and would agree that I feel like it’s the best of all worlds. You have your home behind you and can still drop it off and drive around to nearby places with an easy to park vehicle. It’s tricky to park but it just takes practice. The trick to a smaller caravan is to keep things simple and avoid clutter whenever possible. Have an awesome time with it and I look forward to the build videos. Not sure if you have thought about it but as a Tesla owner as well the 12v plug in the Tesla has quite a high output and can be used with a good converter to power your basic caravan electrical! You are literally driving a MASSIVE battery bank so utilize it to the fullest.
I love the proposed colour so the two vehicles match. Ditch the carpet and put in the lino so you can sweep and wash easily, but if you want the warmth of carpet in the winter, lay down a bath mat. It’s washable and comes in any colour you can think of. Happy caravanning! 🚘
It's honestly the perfect size van, I absolutely love it!
Replace the dining table with a Solar panel!
And utilize the roof with panels
I'm so excited that you’ve got a caravan! I have one too, along with an EV, and I had the exact same reasoning for getting it. We’ve got an EcoFlow Pro, and I’m planning to permanently install it in the caravan. Glad to hear you're working on this project!
Regards to the fridge in 12 V. Because they’ve got such a high draw, the older fridge is like what have in your caravan.
Will Only allow to use the 12 V whilst the vehicle is charging it also the 12 V on older fridges doesn’t tend to get a fridge cold but just helps maintain it. It’s more used for whilst in transit not to run the fridge hence while you’re plugged in on the move.
Our camper/caravan as you call it has NO carpet! We don’t need carpet in ours because we usually go to a lake and carpet is too hard to keep clean. We have linoleum, which is so easy to keep clean.😊❤
Did the old close to the video, love it
I love power stations. They are so handy. Also definitely take out the carpet. Replace all the lights with LEDs.
We have a self-converted, electric 2013 VW Crafter, and it turned out, it fits our full-time van life perfectly. But I totally see the point of a caravan.
Keep the carpet , it’s very echoey without it, also you can just shake the carpet outside and because it’s nylon you can wash it outside with a hosepipe and dry over the line
Omg I need one of this power station!!!
Ever thought of trying an e axel off the shelf caravan regeneration? They also do jockey wheel electric motors to move a caravan.
Eriba’s lightweight pop top is a great idea. As it’s more compact that many touring vans, I wouldn’t waste valuable real estate on a shower & toilet. Unless you’re wild camping, there will always be facilities you can use.
16:05 American plugs do have it, but its not always bridged on power stations, thats what it is sensing. the ground-neutral bond. Powers stations are being equipped with them now.
Great vlog, excellent info on the power station, I really like the fact you tried over a few weeks in different situations really thorough thanks
Infinite Power! 😀
The fridge won't pull 110w continuously, it'll be on a thermostat to activate the compressor.
Even with the smallest model x batterie pack, it would be less than 1.7% not considering charge losses. Which would be around 15% at such low speed. For the biggest battery it is not even charging 1%. However always nice to have a backup. And run an extra 2 miles maybe
8 miles.... amazing
Id recommend fitting a motor mover to your caravan if youre not to good at the reversing like me. Also surprised your fridge doesnt run on gas, most caravan fridges do.
We love our electric campervan but an EV + caravan combo makes a lot of sense for the type of travel you're describing. If you want to wild camp loads like we do, an electric campervan's great, but if you want to stay at campgrounds and use them as a base for a few nights or more to explore the area, a caravan's much better suited to that.
We can also use our house battery to charge the traction battery of our electric campervan if we're ever really in a pickle. We haven't needed to yet (though we have gotten close a few times 😅), but it's great to have the option to get us to a charging station or someplace with electricity
For your caravan, you can put 800watts on it. 400 on the top and 2, 200 on each side that folds. Have you heard of a solar panel awning. Slides out from under the one on the roof.
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste .. 🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤ 🕊
You are the only person that makes ads interesting
Loved the video Louis. I love tech! You've picked just the right van. Always wanted an Eriba. Brilliant, compact caravans. Can't wait for the upgrade to the van. Cheers, John.
Ha ha, I had to chuckle at your calling the third prong on a cable an "earth." Here in the US, we call it the ground prong. Just another interesting linguistic tid bit based on where people live
Make it like a gypsy wagon. Those are always beautiful and made from recycled materials.
Replace window curtains and throw pillows.
I am so glad you posted this, i am looking for a travel trailer and this is quite helpful 😊
Did you get the caravan from around Brighton? Check for rust due to sea air!
Love a good Louis upload always going to be a good video 🤟🤟
I would take the carpet out and put laminate down as it is easier to clean in such a small space like a camper van or caravan
Sweet set up , plus new types of vlogs great idea
excited to see you demo the dji neo drone
Most eriba peeps use gas which works best off grid for gas
I know you've ended up with quite a few power stations from lots of different companies would love a bit of a comparison.
if your battery is completely full at 1kwh it will charge your car 1% and not 3%
Yes being able to drop and go. Yes it can take 3 points turns to maneuver. Do you go through the Tesla charge faster towing or about the same without towing?
If you use that induction stove twice a day to boil a water for just 2 minutes(time it takes to boil water using induction stove), It's just like you're consuming worth 1.5p out of 180GBP worth of stored watt hour battery. I would buy one.
Would definitely put a vinyl floor down over laminate
Oh crap this makes me want to buy a power bank so badly 😅
try a concordia centurian motorhome at 26 ton on a actros chassis with a garage at the rear thats opens up thats what im driving now as i retired from hgv1 trucking
When travelling with the EV and caravan combo, how would you get on at charging stations?
Most of them seem very small to me.
Unhitch the caravan to recharge?
Love video
if the power station is 1kwh, ignoring losses, then you are going to get ~4miles - you'll know your miles/kwh
Is it not a three way fridge? 12V, mains and gas.
And this is why your have no money, I’m sorry guys but you can’t have it all. I know it’s hard and it’s great you both have ambition and I admire that. But the reality is this. You have son now and travelling is still gonna be fun, but financially if you want to get your family home Bulit try stay in Costa Rica until it’s Built and get your son settled. You can do other content in Costa Rica maybe show us more about the local people etc. I wish you guys the best. But you can’t have it all you need to be more financially responsible now. Good luck.
Hi having had a caravan there is 2 things your missing. It's a set of extended wing mirrors .you them by law
where did ya get the cup?
Would be nice if you could make it stainless steel or chrome like those airstream trailers
One big ad! Rubbish
Could you let Neo review the new DJI NEO next time?
What happened to Jack and Finn the twins? Something happened in India that caused them to break away from youtube.
It is again simply long advertiesment :-(.
Interesting but....
Maybe a pop up roof to bring in extra light and allow you to stand up fully? Otherwise it's amazing. Would love to see toilet and shower too.
All Eriba’s have built in pop tops.
💜❤️
Caravan is a good shout. Never understood motorhomes, you have to pack up every day just to drive somewhere. Why not go to a campsite, unload everything, then spend a week there, and have a nimble car ready to go at all times for that week.
In NZ we see lots of motorhomes that tow a small 2-seater car. These aren't tourists but locals.
@@idlewise you know electric motorhomes which pull electric cars ?
@@jane-fw4nh personally no, but if the car is a small, light two-seater (like a Smart EQ), I see no reason it cannot be done. I wonder if the car battery could be (regeneratively) charged whilst it is being towed.
@@idlewise the point if the post is that a small caravan can be towed easily with an electric car , no diesel or petrol needed at all. Motorhomes are not electric so it’s not comparable

At last, first one
Nahh 😅

Another long ad😢😢 Had to fast forward most of it.
One heck of a title 😅
Why do they want a caravan?
☮☮☮
It is way more expensive in Germany, so makes no sense for 1000€...
We love our caravan - we have 4 kids and being able to set up a base to explore from is amazing rather than packing up all their stuff all the time.
Caravan fridges don’t run off 12v batteries - many have an option to run off LPG gas if you don’t have hook up instead.
either you are super tall or that caravan is tiny lol
Definitely a mix of both, lol
