Back in 1987 I had a 1972 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Station wagon with a 455 4 Barrel 400 Turbo transmission. .My Dad and I pulled the engine and tranny and dropped it into a 1974 Chevy Spirit of America ,That car had a 3:73 rearend in it .....That car Hauled Ass back in my teenager years ...I miss that old car
HELL YES, i watch your videos every few months out of sheer enjoyment, so glad to see another one and the Yacht is still haulin the mail. Way to be sir!
My brother had a 1970 cutlass 350 motor. He told me to punch it at green. Light. Smoked tires for 30 yards no joke. Broke a fan belt and left off the pedal
Really any performance part numbers you have would be great, I can't seem to find anything for the later 70s GM b-body, especially Delta 88 and all the b o p parts are confusing please help thanks
I'm building a 76 Delta 88 455, th400 etc... I was wondering what rear end parts you used, posi system, even some part # if you have I'm, please and thank you
I used a rear end out of an early 70s chevy caprice. It bolted right in and takes standard 10 bolt gm differential parts. I installed a 3.73 gear set and posi out of an early 80s camaro. Bolted right in.
Stock. I own a 1970 four door, and it blows the doors off my 70 convertible, though it's the same drivetrain. I'm sending it to performance to find out the HP difference when I'm in LA in a month. You can "adjust" those Rochester carbs for performance or freeway gas saving mileage, for instance. The four door also has CAST aluminum wheel covers, instead of stamped. I think it's for the torque going around corners, otherwise you'd pop the wheel covers off, like the Charger in Bullit cutting off that OLds in the intersection chase scene!

Is it stock or not? I thought those cars came with 2 barrel carbs.
