Its actually very helpful to see how you take the "mistakes" and make it work. I'm just always amazed at how straight your cuts are, I can't cut a straight line to save my life even when I use a paper cutter it's still all wonky lol. You're one of my favorites and I look forward to your videos, thank you for sharing them❤
Don't be so hard on yourself. It is good to not do everything perfectly. Gives us newbies a chance to see how we can always make it work out. It always comes out beautiful. Thanks for sharing everything.
Yay I'm glad you posted the video, all credit to you Tina. you carried on and made it work, it can always be covered if not. Also it means I'm not alone in leaving the mistakes and working them out on video for all the newbies who watch :). i had a nightmare one a few weeks back when i was sewing in signatures, could not poke the holes :):) My lovely subscribers were like yours and all said they liked to see not perfect as thats real junk journaling !! xx
Oh thank you so much Carol. I like seeing people’s mistakes too, it’s reassuring isn’t it? Although when filming it can feel a little stressful when things just keep going wrong! Lol. Good for you for leaving your trouble with the holes in, I’m sure many ladies could relate to it x
This is a great video. I love your not having and plan. Most of us are doing the same. We see something in the stash and just keep adding and adding. Wanting to hoard those most favorite pieces. Debating if to use or not use and save it. Being like a child again with a carefree spirit and using anything and everything would be so freeing. I love all you thinking out loud. Love this journal. Stay safe and sweet. Your art is wonder.
It's fine Tina, stop worrying, at least you're putting your ideas out there. More than many of us do. Great idea using an Amazon parcel. I get loads of those. X
Good Morning Tina, I really enjoy watching this video, you are showing us all how to work through the issues that I know I encounter as a newbie... I struggle sometimes and I put it away until I feel patient enough to work on it again, now you have taught me that it's ok and not to sweat the small things.. I thank you for sharing that we us... I know that journal will be beautiful when you've finish it.. Thanks for all you do for us wanna be junk journalers...♥️
Honestly Tina you should give yourself credit as you showed us an easy mistake we all do many times and you put it right we all live and learn I think your crafting is amazing I also agree with the mod podge I find it can be hard on certain surfaces to work with tfs .The journal will be lovely as they always are 💕
Thank you again Tina. Everybody has these problems and its great to see how you overcome them. Enjoying the series and its very good of you to demonstrate your ideas.
It's great for us to see how you negotiate the twists and turns of journal-making! We all run into the same issues, and are inspired by your ingenuity! You are the best!
Love LOVE this X Piles series. To watch you create with what you have on hand is so helpful for me. Your creativity amazes and inspires me. Cant wait to see how this journal progresses!
I'm glad you still posted this video. It's always helpful to see the whole process, mistakes and all. BUT I have a feeling the journal is going to turn out beautifully, your work always does.
Love watching you do the cover. I have a love hate relationship with mod podge, lol! It’s good to watch you work out problems in real time. It’s helpful to us all. tfs💕
I watch your videos everyday, thank you for crafting with me. I just want you to know...you are not rubbish, you are not boring, you do make a great job of what you make. Stop being so hard on yourself! I think you're amazing and very helpful with new ideas. Don't worry about what people think, every body is different and likes different things. I only wish I could use scissors like you do, I can't cut a straight line. I so look forward to your videos everyday, thank you so much for being here everyday. Have a great week.
Thanks for the mention, dear Tina! Please don't be so hard on yourself. It's actually very helpful when we make mistakes because everybody does and it keeps it real and the best is to then figure out how to fix it. Keep being so fabulous! Much love, Barbara
Love this I am going through bags off 12x12 paper and my scrap box. Making cards and envelopes and embellishments and 3d projects. Love how you using yours
I enjoy watching the process, warts and all. It's very genuine. Let yourself up! It's good to see the struggles and then how to overcome them. It always turns out lovely in the end. You have a marvelous eye. I like the idea of two spines, with the wider one to the right, because once you start filling up the pages, that side is always fatter. Makes perfect sense to me. Now, on to the next step!
Great tutorial and I really appreciate that you shared even the parts you felt were bad! It's gonna be extquisit when you are done!!! Love all your work!! 💛🐞💙🦋💚
I agree with Karen Lulay, don't be so hard on yourself and stop saying you are an idiot. You are most certainly not, you are a person who share your flaws with so many of us, mistakes are part of life and we are all learning from it. This journal will be just as beautiful as all the others you have made in the past! 🌸
Not awful at all!!!! Don't doubt yourself, we learn by doing. At least you tried, if you hadn't, you would not have learnt anything, and therefore, nieither would we!!!! So all is good. The sheet music looks so pretty next to the flowery paper. Looking forward to seeing this journal in the making and then finished. We are with you on this one especially.
Tina! I LOVED your video because we all try things that go wonky and wonder how we are going to save the project. Seeing it happen to you shows it can absolutely happen to the BEST of us! Thank you for soldieringing on despite the challenges. I have been enjoying your X-Piles, mass-making, and use-what's-on the desk series. Also the canvases were very beautiful and I love the using up the stuff you wish you'd never had series. Sending my best regards that you and your family stay healthy. From Andrea from Oregon in the "states."
Tina- there are so many things people can learn from your videos- including ways to cover a mistake or how to make something work when it doesn't quite work the way you planned!! Oh, how I wish others would post videos like this--because no way I am perfect every time I make something- believe it!!! No one is!! And here is something to consider- are these not supposed to be tutorials-- well-- what do we do when it doesn't work the way we planned?? This is an excellent video-- and how brave you are for posting it!!! Makes me admire you even more for being a "real person" who is not afraid to be vulnerable to her many subbies who are human and make all kinds of mistakes!!!
Thank you so much Brandy, I really appreciate your kindness and encouragement. I make many, many mistakes, but as you say it’s sometimes reassuring when watching others making mistakes. It’s a bit intimidating when everything is so slick and perfect and so disappointing when I try the same thing and it’s a disaster! After all, crafting should be fun not stressful and, most things can be altered, covered up or worked around 😉🤗🤭 x
I thought it was great to see your whole process whether you thought it was good or bad. I think it looked great. You are too hard on yourself. Looking forward to the next video! Thanks and take care.😘😘
I have had exactly those problems trying to adhere cardstock to both sides of a cereal box cover, and never did solve it in a pretty way -- just moved on, hoping to learn a better way before I try that again. Chalk it up to being human, and we're glad to be part of the same tribe. Thanks much. As COVID continues, with no end in sight, it's nice to have you as a constant to look forward to (at a good safe distance)! Be Well!
serendipity is wonderful!! I use it alot!!! - unintentionally - of course!!! LOL Love this, and please believe it will work out brilliantly, as yours always do!! Hence why me and others keep watching. x
Good morning Tina! Last morning watching from the beach. Watching you craft while listening to the waves. Super kool! I hope you all have a great day! Xoxo
I just love the projects that use the Amazon wrap-around packaging. They make great journal covers. Remember, there’s NO mistakes just new opportunities.😂. Let it progress and I bet it turns out great!
I love sheet music too for junk journaling. Your video is fine, Mrs. Tina. You are way too hard on yourself. We enjoy watching you, mistakes and all. It's good to show mistakes and whatnot and what to do to correct them, especially for those of us who are still fairly new to it.
I love the way you craft. When I craft I have a vague idea but I can't have a detailed plan. That doesn't work for me. I love seeing you work in this way and seeing how you work things out because that seems real to me. When everything is perfect on videos I wonder why I can't do my craft so perfectly. Please keep doing what you do. I love it😄
Thank you so much Catherine, yes I too find it disappointing when I am trying to follow a project and mine just doesn’t turn out like the one I’ve been copying x
Perfect Tina. Just found a similar packaging box and had already been putting papers from packs with random sheets left over together with the thought of a future journal and here you are with the help I needed. Yaaaay good on ya. You’re such an inspiration. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Scrap busting going great.💕👍🏻
Hi Tina, I loved watching this and will watch it again as I have Amazon packaging that I want to use and it’s been so helpful to see how it is done. I’ve got quite a few and I’m looking forward to doing mine now. I love all your papers and they sound so crunchy when coffee dyed. I’ve been shopping in your Etsy so I can’t wait to print the papers out and use them. Thank you for sharing.
You always crack me up! Just remember, we all make mistakes. I love watching you work through yours because it always turns out fantastic...which gives me hope that mine will too. This journal looks pretty ready. Now I'm mad for throwing out all my Amazon boxes. 😂🤣
Great way to use up the packaging and those extras sitting around! I think it's more realistic to include the whoopsies when you create and keep them in the videos. Nobody is perfect and we learn from our mistakes. So will others. TFS the inspiration!
I'm with everybody else, it's a treat to see your mind at work, whether you are happy or not with the outcome, because as you say, it's only paper. And we can think along with you for ideas and solutions. Good thing you can't hear us as I'm sure most of us are talking to you giving our opinions! Now I'm wondering if I can fold a piece of cardboard and shape it like yours, maybe with some slits then reinforced?? Make a great journal for a man. I love that fold over. Thank You!!
Loved X-Piles Episode 5. New at the junk journals and struggle with decisions and errors. Makes me happy to see others also are not perfect. I also know about the hoarding favorites as I hate to use things I love. Pam from from Paper outpost just goes for it so I’m trying my best to emulate her go for it. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I really like to see that you make mistakes too. So many edit their videos and it seems everything is perfect every time, and for some of us mistakes happen so often we get discouraged to even try. To see that it can easily be fixed without throwing everything out and starting again is very helpful. Your videos are very enjoyable... and not having a plan makes everything all the more interesting.
I thought I was the only one who lost track of what went where and folded things wrong! Thanks for showing us that everyone makes mistakes. I love everything you make and I know you'll make something beautiful out of this. Can't wait to see it! I've had problems with different glue not wanting to stick to Tyvek. Here in the U.S. we have a glue called "The Ultimate". It's the only one I've found (so far) that works.
I enjoyed watching your process. Don’t be so hard on yourself. ❤️ oh and I love that your desk looks just like mine. I end up with piles and stuff everywhere and less and less working space ! 😆
Everyone makes mistakes. It happens. It's no problem and I really enjoyed the video! I use Tyvek tape as well. What I do is use Fabritac or 3 in 1 and glue a piece of light-weight card stock over the Tyvek with that. Then, I procede from there. I don't use Mod Podge to make my covers. I always use either 3 in 1 or Bookbinder's PVA glue. But, honestly, the PVA is probably similar to Mod Podge. Another option is Weld Bond. Thank you for the video, Tina!
Tina, you are not an idiot. The Amazon packaging is just a long strip of cardboard and you can crease wherever you want. You can add some more creases to the flap side for a rounded flap. There is nothing wrong with experimenting! It turned out beautiful!
This has started off interestingly, but will look great when it's finished. I don't use the elastic bands because they get weak and then break. Blessing and Hugs 🤗
Hakuna Matata... means no worries. I know you will figure it out. You really put a dent in your pile on this project. I like how you are already thinking about coordinating the cut pieces into tags and tuck spots. I just bought a ton of paper yesterday and I have to figure out where to put it all. Much love to you and your family ❤
I had a lot of fun making this journal, and really did use up a ton of stuff! I’m sure you are tidy and organised already with your new paper. Love to you and yours too x
Thanks for this video and for leaving in your struggles. Now I will definitely not use Mod Podge with tyvek. Lol. It turned out well in the end and I have to say the music page was perfect with the floral.
Thank you for doing this video. It was refreshingly real and I appreciate your process! BTW, it is not crap! My junk journaling never goes as smoothly as the vloggers! I love your choice of papers and using the music sheets! If I glue over duct tape or tyvex I have to use Fabri-tac, otherwise it doesn’t stick! Can’t wait to see the next video! ❤️❤️❤️
Ok, first you are not an idiot. You are a real creator. I’ve been in that same predicament. Creating is not about being perfect. It’s about taking imperfections and making them beautiful to the eye. That’s the way life is. Starting out on a path, then straying off and realizing there’s more beauty to be found in places away from the initial intent. Thank you, Tina, for being real.
Don't worry, its great to see live issues, its just the same for all of us, there's never mistakes in crafting just happy accidents. At least we listen to you work it out, nobody listens to me lol
Stop beating yourself up! The object of tutorials is to teach! Today, I learned that modpoge doesyn't work very well on Tyvek tape. I have both of those products! This was useful information and I am grateful for that! It was a good thing!
I've used those Amazon packages and ran into the same problem. I ended up cutting a piece of rigid cardboard, covered it, and glued it down in the inside. It worked and wasn't too noticeable.
sometimes i feel like i'm the only one that goes thru this lol - its good to know i'm not alone - i have 2 of these Amazon packages - just haven't had the chance to do this yet - maybe i can use my wallpaper sample books as the covering - oh no more inspiration : )
No worries Tina! Being real means making mistakes and then thinking through the process to make it work. Certainly I have multiple times a day to be “real”! 😂🤣
Now you know why I have "recalculating" on one of my videos and "cover redo" on another. It's reassuring to know it's not just me, but I feel for you because it can be discouraging. I know that it will be beautiful in the end.
You must post right about the time I crawl into bed to watch a few videos while I slowly drift off to sleep eventually. I’m in the USA and so where are you?
Aw Tina, it didn’t pan out the way you had in mind. We have all been there, we will all be there again, and again, and again. This does not make you, or us, idiots. And if it does makes us idiots then all of us are idiots. And if everybody is an idiot, well that’s the normal so that means none of us are idiots. Besides I am sure you are going to make it work. ❤️
Tina I was thinking you had a second bundle of papers which would make sense of the smaller fold on the flap. No big deal if not. I’ve seen plenary of double folds on Amazon packaging Journals. I say stop being so hard on yourself. We want somebody who is not perfect every time. I love Tracy Fox but she’s so perfect all the time I feel I can’t do what she does. Perfection in junk journals videos bores me
Oh Tina… I hate to see you lose your confidence again. We all have frustrating crafting days and projects and it is always good to see the process which helps us see everyone struggles but everything works out in the end. Your journals always end up fabulous so no more fretting, go forward with confidence. We love your work no matter the process which by the way looks like the rest of us. Remember that creativity does not mean perfection. Enjoy! Big warm hugs! 🤗🌹🤗
Oh thank you so much Laurette, I really appreciate your kindness and encouragement. I especially loved your comment “which btw looks like the rest of us”, that is so reassuring to know 🤗😊🙃, thank you x
Its actually very helpful to see how you take the "mistakes" and make it work. I'm just always amazed at how straight your cuts are, I can't cut a straight line to save my life even when I use a paper cutter it's still all wonky lol. You're one of my favorites and I look forward to your videos, thank you for sharing them❤
Oh thank you so much. I am awful with a paper cutter too x
I love this video, this has happened to me and now I not to worry about it just keep going so thank you 🙂🙂👍👍
This is a great video.
Oh thank you so much for your lovely comment. Junk journals really are so freeing in their eclectic styles, anything goes and that is just awesome x
This was great to watch! Nice to see you work out the problems. Thanks🇨🇦
It is a great video. Lots of fun. Can’t wait for the next one. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you so much Donna, I always appreciate your support and kindness x
Honestly Tina you should give yourself credit as you showed us an easy mistake we all do many times and you put it right we all live and learn I think your crafting is amazing I also agree with the mod podge I find it can be hard on certain surfaces to work with tfs .The journal will be lovely as they always are 💕
It's going to be a lovely journal -- looking forward to seeing it all come together.
Thank you again Tina. Everybody has these problems and its great to see how you overcome them. Enjoying the series and its very good of you to demonstrate your ideas.
I love the way you wing it.
Oh Tina, it is so good to watch a crafter having some of the same issues we all have and leaving the booboos in the video ...love it!!!
Love watching you do the cover. I have a love hate relationship with mod podge, lol! It’s good to watch you work out problems in real time. It’s helpful to us all. tfs💕
Thank you so much Jo Ann, I love Mod Podge, but I think it’s maybe a bit temperamental in warmer temperatures x
Thank you so so much Loretta, I really appreciate your kindness. Big scissors really help with cutting btw x
It is always good to see a professional have a struggle, it makes us all feel so much better, always comes out amazing in the end anyeayxx
Thanks for the mention, dear Tina! Please don't be so hard on yourself. It's actually very helpful when we make mistakes because everybody does and it keeps it real and the best is to then figure out how to fix it. Keep being so fabulous! Much love, Barbara
Oh Barbara you are so kind, thank you so much x
Well, ... that happened 😂❤😘
I'm certainly intrigued to see your next episode now 😊
How wonderful that I'm not the only one who has problems! Perfect is unexciting, making mistakes teaches us so much! Great job, now I'm braver.
Lol, yes you’re so right, sometimes the best things come out of mistakes too. X
Love this I am going through bags off 12x12 paper and my scrap box. Making cards and envelopes and embellishments and 3d projects. Love how you using yours
I'm inspired by how brave you are, Tina, trying new stuff and moving forward to make something unique....always moving forward...:-)
I enjoy watching the process, warts and all. It's very genuine. Let yourself up! It's good to see the struggles and then how to overcome them. It always turns out lovely in the end. Yaaaay good on ya. You’re such an inspiration. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Scrap busting going great.💕👍🏻
Thank you so much Deborah, I am really thrilled that this has come at a good time for you x
😊 We can all relate! It’s fun to watch you figure it out. It’s like a cliffhanger on a tv show. I have to tune in to see what happens next! 🧐😆
Lol, thank you x
It's all good in the end, Tina! Keep going and I bet it'll be gorgeous!! 💖
I’m glad to see your like the rest of us. Not everything turns out as we hope. But all will work out.

Gorgeous choice of papers, tea dye really makes them all blend together beautifully!
You always crack me up! Just remember, we all make mistakes. I love watching you work through yours because it always turns out fantastic...which gives me hope that mine will too. This journal looks pretty ready. Now I'm mad for throwing out all my Amazon boxes. 😂🤣

Oh, I have never heard of that glue, I will have to check it out x
I enjoyed watching your process. Don’t be so hard on yourself. ❤️ oh and I love that your desk looks just like mine. I end up with piles and stuff everywhere and less and less working space ! 😆
Oh I actually like the journal with a wide overlap. I think it is a happy mistake. Love all that you do. Thank you.
Thankyou so much, Im new to crafting and Love your honesty 😊 ive watched a few of your videos, you do such wonderful crafts🙋💚
Oh thank you Jobeth, I have never heard of Wield Bond, I will look it up, tfs x
Tina, you are not an idiot. The Amazon packaging is just a long strip of cardboard and you can crease wherever you want. You can add some more creases to the flap side for a rounded flap. There is nothing wrong with experimenting! It turned out beautiful!
Thank you so much Anja x
I just wanted to say your struggles help us. Now we know not to use the tyvac and mod pod get together. I love that dsp too! Keep truckin’ on Tina 👍🏼
Thank you for the tip about your experience with gluing onto the Tyvek x
I love the look of the burnt vellum.... ;)
It’s great just add lace down the crease it will be gorgeous. I like the larger spine on the fold over, it will hide the alligator mouth. 💕
Don't worry, Tina, it's very helpful to see how you than make it work.
Thank you so much Diane, I really appreciate your kindness x
Don't worry, its great to see live issues, its just the same for all of us, there's never mistakes in crafting just happy accidents. At least we listen to you work it out, nobody listens to me lol
❤
great job!!
I thought you did fine on your video, it shows the true world of crafting.
Stop beating yourself up! The object of tutorials is to teach! Today, I learned that modpoge doesyn't work very well on Tyvek tape. I have both of those products! This was useful information and I am grateful for that! It was a good thing!
Thank you Rhonda I am really pleased that the mod Podge and Tyvek experience was helpful to you x
I've used those Amazon packages and ran into the same problem. I ended up cutting a piece of rigid cardboard, covered it, and glued it down in the inside. It worked and wasn't too noticeable.
Great idea for the extra bit of card x
Tina Hi - those sides are rounded so you can burnish it 2-4 more times to get that rounded side. Jackie
cool idea :)
sometimes i feel like i'm the only one that goes thru this lol - its good to know i'm not alone - i have 2 of these Amazon packages - just haven't had the chance to do this yet - maybe i can use my wallpaper sample books as the covering - oh no more inspiration : )
Oh wallpaper samples would be great for this, have fun x
No worries Tina! Being real means making mistakes and then thinking through the process to make it work. Certainly I have multiple times a day to be “real”! 😂🤣
It's paper, booboo's can easily be fixed, covered up and decorated. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Now you know why I have "recalculating" on one of my videos and "cover redo" on another. It's reassuring to know it's not just me, but I feel for you because it can be discouraging. I know that it will be beautiful in the end.
I enjoy watching you
I always wonder how on earth you manage to cut that straight!! I even fail when measuring and marking it...
I am much worse if I try to mark it out 🤭 x
You must post right about the time I crawl into bed to watch a few videos while I slowly drift off to sleep eventually. I’m in the USA and so where are you?
She is in the United Kingdom. I'm also in the US and she posts between 4a & 430a my time every day. Have a great day
I'm in Kansas. I should be asleep. I'm not
Lol, yes I am in the UK, a little town on the South coast called Chichester x
😂😂❤️👍🏻🎶🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏👏
Just keep it that way, it’s fine, I call those a happy accident. Don’t change a thing, you are so sweet 💐💞🙋🏻
Thank you so much Gwendolyn, It’s lovely to know that I am not the only one who does things like this x
You will need the extra space when you fill the pages.
It’s hard to watch you sorting papers because I did that yesterday for hours!
Lol, wow good for you for getting sorted with your papers x
Tina I was thinking you had a second bundle of papers which would make sense of the smaller fold on the flap. No big deal if not. I’ve seen plenary of double folds on Amazon packaging
Journals. I say stop being so hard on yourself.
We want somebody who is not perfect every time. I love Tracy Fox but she’s so perfect all the time I feel I can’t do what she does. Perfection in junk journals videos bores me
Thank you so much Sherry. X
Just a bit of problem solving. Nothing wrong with that.
I want that on a T-shirt!!
🙂🌜🇨🇦
