- 👉 Learn how to find the partial sum of an arithmetic series. A series is the sum of the terms of a sequence. An arithmetic series is the sum of the terms of an arithmetic sequence. The formula for the sum of n terms of an arithmetic sequence is given by Sn = n/2 [2a + (n - 1)d], where a is the first term, n is the term number and d is the common difference. Where the last term is known, we can use Sn = n/2 (a + l) where l is the last term.

I'm in 11th grade and were studying this in Financial Algebra. I learn't more in 1 minute from watching this video than a whole period which is about an hour and a half. I Wish you where my teacher you made it so easy to understand.
so happy to be able to help you out Sebastian!!
Im in eighth grade and they making me do this,i dont understand the adding to the syllable thing to get to the end so im hoping this vid helps 😔😔
I am in grade 7 and I finished learning these simple equations, and I finished learning quantum physics and college courses and now I am learning calculus to finish it, also python in programming....🐟🐟🐟
@@smartscience5305 i just put on my glasses and i still can't see who asked
@@smartscience5305 you're telling us you learned everything about quantum mechanics at the age of 13? in that case, either you're a gifted child, a delusional kid who learned about quantum mechanics from a 10 min youtube video, or you're lying
Imagine gen alpha kids growing after years and studying the "sigma" rule
lol I’m an early Gen alpha it’s going to be cringe/funny to see all the snickering in class

Good thing im part gen z part gen alpha. This shi gonna be funny asf
I’ve just spent 20 minutes re-reading my BEng course book trying to understand what you explained crystal clearly in 1 minute. Thank you!
Damnit Gen Aplha we just had this lesson, my classmates and me nearly bursted laughing, teacher noticed it, no one explained why they laughed, she got mad and we had a quiz lol
Thank you for having a 1 minute video to explain this. Straight to the point and easy to understand.

This was not taught in my school.
They simply get into the syllabus, holy crap.
Thanks for the information.
You're an amazing teacher ! That video was quick and extremely clear ! Tank you so much ! I wish you were my math teacher
THANKS!!!!
Best 1 min 21 sec spent the day on youtube~

started watching these vids in hs for pre calc now im in calc 2 for college still watching them lol MCLOGAN THE GOAT
Love it, so happy to be there for you
I think I'm the only one who learn math for fun and not for learning
but if ill learn this on the future, that's good because I already know that, thanks :)
and by the way this video is exploded with a lot of views I see, you deserve it
keep learning, that is the best gift you can give yourself. Happy for any of my videos to help
Thank you so much! I am trying to get into neural networks and when I saw an equation using a Sigma I was confused and thinking I would not be able to do it. You simplified it wonderfully and gave me confidence!
was the video from tech with tim? lol
I'm in my first year of high school, and I've always been passionate about mathematics
Sigma notation was one of the things I was most curious to learn, thank you very much!
You are very welcome!!
This dude explained it better in 12 seconds than my precalc teacher did in an hour
actually very simple... it kind of reminds me of a 'for' loop in software programming. Thank you very much :)
this guy got me through 2 years of calculus. im coming back for nostalgia xd
Simple, understandable, and quick. Thank you, sir!
This was the only 1min vdo in my search results and more useful than those 20 mins... thanku sir☺️
love it
im in china, and im studying ahead for grade 10 IB. this was the fastest and also the most clear video i could find. thank you for making this

I’m in 7th grade, I understood this fully.
Thank you so much for this, I had an hour and a half lecture on this yesterday and was completely confused. Your video helped me grasp the basics of the concept in 1 minute!

You explained it in *one minute*
And I've got it 👍👏❤️
Even a sixth grader could understand this, thanks
Super simple, I understood in the first 30 seconds
Sir thanks a lot for these simple explanation videos. Absolutely love all of your videos. Great respect for great teachers like you❤❤

You did a fantastic job. Quick and easy explanation.
So it's like a repeating function where the variable changes until it becomes the final number in this case 3?
Thanks sir.

thank you so much Mr!!!!!
It's a for loop basically
it was awesome ! thank you !
Thank you so much sir
thanks, after seeing this symbol in desmos I always wanted to know what does it mean.
The correct answer is 14 not 13. If the question was (3i - 1) it would be 13. But for 3i -1 it would be 6+9 - 1 giving us 14.
Thank you.

I'm at 2nd year uni. Have 6 subjects every semester, from which atleast one is math that uses a ton of this type of formulas. Took me 5 seconds to realise how easy this formula actually is... Math is a joke sometimes. Or me. Or teachers.
Just need to keep at it
I saw this and my small brain couldn’t comprehend what was he doing
is it possible to notate an inclusive or exclusive sum?
sigma 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
Ok now tell me how sigma notation works, did you listen to the video?

Finally a crystal fucking clear explanation. How can people make something this simple complex? Sometimes i wonder if it's done intentionally, honestly. Thanks a lot, i'm a software developer, haven't had to deal too much with maths up till now digging into cryptography/cryptology, needing to work with some intimidating looking equations, will be definitely coming back to this channel to look at some more advanced areas.

@@PlutoNeptuneUranusSaturnr is 1 and n is 20
Ok but you didn't at any point actually explain that you have to add 1 to the value of i. I had to extrapolate that from what was happening on the board, this is kinda what i find annoying about so many maths teachers is that they leave out explaining the most basic function of how a thing works and just expect everyone to extrapolate.
I feel that legit just changing the notation to have the i at the top as well might clear up alot of it
S=13i. ans.

I literally found this because my kid is talking about how sigma his friend is. No offense my kid is a dipshit. Now I'm like the fuck, excel formulas. When did kid slang turn from nerd shit sum + 1

Sigma😎
i got my answer wrong 😐
This is incorrect. You need to put the argument of the summation in parentheses, especially when part of it does not contain the index, so as to group it with the parts of the argument that does contain the index.
Written the way it is, the answer should be 14.
i only need exactly 1 minute XD
