The new roads are pretty useless because by the time you unlock Ziplines the cost of building these particular roads becomes rather pointless as the standard roads in the base game go to the same place, stop at/are closer to more Preppers and these raods don't take you anywhere new. It's just an alternative and slightly faster way to get from the Eastern Distro Centre to the one of the mountain and as I said the standard roads get you up there anyway. It’s not gonna get you to the palaeontologist, geologist or evo devo biologist. Even going to the first prepper is still a challenge. The road is quite obsolete.
Do other people build roads? So far I built the entire road to South Knot myself and have about 1/4 of the mountain roads done. Some of them had a few materials already, but I put in at least 90% for each one. It just doesn't seem right.
They do just you have to be the player to finish them in your worlds, the most they can contribute to your road is about 50% half way there, but you have to be the person to press the button finish them and build them. Roads will never just finish in your world.
I built 2 sections of road in my playthrough of the game (completed first time last week). I didn't find them that necessary...I got to know the best ways to jam the truck through various paths and exploit the jump to get through crappy rocky areas lol. Don't get me wrong, I see the convenience appeal. You also get used to where BT's spawn and can easily avoid the areas --most-- of the time.
My question is, what are those things that look like an incomplete stargate? I know they’re not ziplines or any other structure the PCC can build, at least the one I have (lvl 2) is it a PS only thing? A director’s cut thing? What do they do?
Now us PC users just have to wait another year or two for the Director's Cut to come to Steam. I hope current owner's of the game will get it eventually.
Hey I can understand why these roads exist, sometimes you just wanna take it easy and go for a ride, exploring the beautiful apocalypse world. Instead of continuous walking, why not help Sam out a bit?
I’m considering getting this game, is it good for someone who’s slightly impatient and gets confused when there’s a lot of stuff on the screen but likes scenery and stuff
You do not need to worry about being confused with stuff on the screen as it’s mostly just keeping balance and watching your stamina which you don’t need to go crazy over even on very hard. But if you’re impatient I don’t think this is your kind of game especially the beginning chapters 1-3 before you unlock anything, then again you also say you like scenery so if you like taking the visuals on your way to your destination then maybe it is. I’ve got a playlist of all orders no story spoilers if you want to check out gameplay judge from that.
If only roads connected most of the outposts and not just a few of them... I don't know if these new roads are worth the time to build them. They just connect Mountain Knot City with the central area of this zone. This doesn't help all the people's mountain deliveries, you are still going to need to build a massive zip line web to connect everything properly.
@@WindmillProductions57 I'm going to make these roads because I already have the platinum trophy and all I have left to do are the Director's cut new missions.
I honestly dont know if at this point im gonna miss out on the experience of playing this game with the basics only if i play online. But then i dont know how it all works. Do these roads show up or do you have to choose to have them? Im thinking of playing offline so its just the game as it started out.
Players can contribute to a certain point with the roads, maybe about half way with the resources but you have to be the one to get the rest of the resources and build it so it appears in your game.
The placing is a pain, but the upgrading is way worse hauling all those XL containers across the mountains. Which reminds me I have to repair mine soon.
Wait that wasn’t in the og? I did the whole thing in directors cut, and got no achievement so I figured it must’ve been there originally, I know it isn’t an achievement but it feels like one. Cool to see other people’s UCA’s
I have no idea, a lot though. In the weeks since this was talked about on Twitter leading up to directors cut released I basically stashed everything I had in the mountains.
Damn... That road not only cuts straight through some good pathways (pre directors cut) but it also adds another 10 hours of mats grinding lol... I seriously don't really see the point in that stretch of road.. Idk.. Maybe I should get my hands on it and actually play with the road to judge it.. I mean.. I guess it does cut some tedium from driving the old route.. Yet now my sneakily placed tried and true pathway from mountain knot to weather station and beyond is redundant lol
Me either. I remember a long time ago when the game released they talked about a road in the mountains and I was sad it was cut. Now we have this one I realise it’s quite obsolete. A zip line network is still the way to go.
This road and the Jetpack (idk whats it called) Takes away the fun of Hiking through dangerous terrain imo This game is meant for walking through beautiful sceneries
Unfortunately not as much as you think, the geologist, palaeontologist and evo devo biologist are still gonna be a real pain. Keep your zipline networks!
@@WindmillProductions57 Good, was terrified that game will be too easy. I managed to build pretty much all necessary roads offline, just taking resources from bases and repeating some missions. They did not mention anywhere that they will add even more roads :O
Kojima did on twitter but that was in a thread I had to dig to find it and was starting to think I imagined it, I found it and stashed all my materials in the mountain a day or two before the directors cut released. Don’t worry about the game being too easy this road is far from a game changer contrary to belief.
I don’t suppose anyone can tell me if to play the directors cut, you have to delete your previous game and start again? I’m so so so close to platinum on this game- I just need to bump up my delivery time stats but struggle doing the mountaineer delivery from the doctors and this road would massively help. Obviously I don’t want to have to start all over again though. Can I take advantage of the extra features in my current game?
Back in the day, the true pioneers worked together to make a zip line network to make deliveries. Building roads around the mountains was the only option. Going through it was meant to be difficult. Another game pandering to the panzies who couldnt cut it.
I was worried that the road would kill the zip line network I built. Built it solo and people added onto it to make little short cuts to cut corners. Trust me the zip lines are still unbeaten.
Didn't use the new roads that much, but it's very convenient. Was too busy trying to be one of the first to get 540 LoLoL. It’s not gonna get you to the palaeontologist, geologist or evo devo biologist. Even going to the first prepper is still a challenge. The road is quite obsolete.
Built the entire road system twice over two saves.. Would just listen to podcasts over game audio. Good times
This is amazing. I was completed it yesterday.
Its nice..built it myself but ziplines are still masters of quick delivery.
Ziplines are faster but I'm glad this is an option.
Yeah! They can keep their asphalt. We’ll reverse trike through BT infested territory like an episode of RIDE with Norman Reedus. Hell yeah.
Esse video me deu um prazer e uma satisfação incrível.
Lol the driving looks good awful? Is it magnetized where it can’t leave the track or somn?
No, but you get infinite gas if you're on the road.
My question is, what are those things that look like an incomplete stargate? I know they’re not ziplines or any other structure the PCC can build, at least the one I have (lvl 2) is it a PS only thing? A director’s cut thing? What do they do?
Can you put a time stamp? I think maybe it could be the ramps?
@@WindmillProductions57 3:12 above the road, slightly right of center
@@WindmillProductions57 if it was in the original release who do I need to deliver to to get it?
@@davelister2 that is the new ramp structure, lets you jump off it and eliminates all fall damage if you hit it.
Now im hype to complete those roads too..
Was wondering if these roads where new was like dint build this last time would have been handy lol
Now us PC users just have to wait another year or two for the Director's Cut to come to Steam. I hope current owner's of the game will get it eventually.
its coming this year
Hey I can understand why these roads exist, sometimes you just wanna take it easy and go for a ride, exploring the beautiful apocalypse world. Instead of continuous walking, why not help Sam out a bit?
Roads are nice but a well build zip line network can pretty much get you wherever you wana go so much faster
I’ve got a playlist of all orders no story spoilers if you want to check out gameplay judge from that.
i love driving thru bts and mule camps. it’s like sams looking out the window waving
Yeah exactly, a lot of people think these roads are better than they are. This won’t get you to any of the mountain preppers.
@@WindmillProductions57 I'm going to make these roads because I already have the platinum trophy and all I have left to do are the Director's cut new missions.
Yeah, no job unfinished.
Where was this when I was working on my platinum?
You’ll find this happens a lot in platinums. You run to hell and back then they install the escalator.
Kojima should add wallmart serves as cantina, where we can play games, trade or gamble with rss, safe place from bt can be build anywhere.
@@WindmillProductions57 ah i see. So its still a case of i have to do some work to get these things?
Exactly, and believe me even half way the later roads to the west start to get extremely costly.
Excellent. Cheers. Ill go find a copy then!
I spent the longest time gathering resources so I could build a series of ziplines throughout the entire mountain range...
It was not in the original or even in the PC version. This is a completely new road that I assume was cut from the original.
how tf did you unlock that , im playing the directors cut and im still hauling shit up hills
The markers are not appearing on your map, follow the route in the video and the Auto pavers will be there.
@@WindmillProductions57 oh damn thanks 🙏🏻
how much time and materials did you use to make those
I have no idea, a lot though. In the weeks since this was talked about on Twitter leading up to directors cut released I basically stashed everything I had in the mountains.
Did you build this? Or is this already in place on the servers for everyone to use?
You have to build this like all the other roads, one section mid mountain is already built
@@WindmillProductions57 Got it! It had been some time since playing but good to know the game lets you do this!
Wow I remember i made such a great zipline system through the mountains, that was so satisfying
So when is roads being added to our version?
*no*
so, this road only available on the directors cut ?
This road and the Jetpack (idk whats it called)
Takes away the fun of Hiking through dangerous terrain imo
This game is meant for walking through beautiful sceneries
This game still has the best snow effects imo
you probably haven’t played rdr2
aww this makes the snowy mountain delivery so much less challenging
Unfortunately not as much as you think, the geologist, palaeontologist and evo devo biologist are still gonna be a real pain. Keep your zipline networks!
also delivering all the materials needed for the highway will be a huge undertaking in itself
Zip lines trivialize most of the challenge already.
Is this prebuild or players have to build them like normal roads? 1:21 driving model still sucks :/
You have to build them like all the other roads, cost around 5-8k metal and ceramic each.
Don’t worry about the game being too easy this road is far from a game changer contrary to belief.
why does my game not look like that, I just have a small map
I had a feeling this road was new Cause i Contemplating whether it was originally there or not
Watch out. The road in the mountain... it's a separate reality.
The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you?
I don’t suppose anyone can tell me if to play the directors cut, you have to delete your previous game and start again? I’m so so so close to platinum on this game- I just need to bump up my delivery time stats but struggle doing the mountaineer delivery from the doctors and this road would massively help. Obviously I don’t want to have to start all over again though. Can I take advantage of the extra features in my current game?
You do not you can export your save from the PS4 version to the PS5 version from any delivery terminal and continue right where you left off!
Oh, so these roads are new? When I played back in 2019 I used zip lines to link all preppers in the montains.
Didn't use the new roads that much, but it's very convenient. Was too busy trying to be one of the first to get 540 LoLoL. Took me a few days since you lose all the structures of the contracts you had. The road came in handy when doing the timed Mountain Knot to Timefall order. I feel this directors cut is easy mode to bring in more people. Ingame: Two_Chicken_Soup
Days Gone, Horizon, GoW and Death Stranding have by far the best looking environments. Even TLoU 2, RDR2, 2077 and AC Valhalla are a tier below imo.
the disrespect on rdr2 ....
@@keane2160 still an elite catevory but I always found that the lighting was a bit too baked in imo. Everything looks a bit hazy. The top 4 have a crispness to then even without RT
I enjoy this game even more nowadays
How did you build two sections in the middle area? Are there new preppers added to that area or you just built them offline? they are expensive af
I had all preppers connected to the UCA, there are no new ones. They are quite costly 5k or there about. Gotta hit those MULE camps!
@@WindmillProductions57 I just had a search and found out about the First pepper..I thought that area on the ridge is meant to be offline so I was gathering full materials (4k crystals, about 7-8k metals and ceramics for each) and it was pain. Thanks buddy!
Oh man, sorry I forgot you could miss him! If there’s any area offline there’s a porter somewhere in there, you’ll need lost cargo in a set location to get them to open and begin taking orders from them. Every time its that or story related.
@@WindmillProductions57 wow thanks that helps a lot!
@@xingwu7446 Be warned! That First Prepper likes to play hard to get. Took me FOREVER to convince him to join!
Do i have to start from beginning or is all i had made on my ps4 still there?
Basically everything you had on PS4 is still there. Other players structures are gone. You can export your save from the PS4 version from any delivery terminal.
@@WindmillProductions57 ok cool
Na minha sessao ninguem constroi nada, tem so um trecho bem pequeno construido. =[
Only you can construct the road in your world, people can get the resources about half way then it is up to you I think. You have to press the button to build personally.
@@WindmillProductions57 Nao sabia, eu achava que uma vez construido todos da sessao teriam acesso a rodovia. Em alguns locais de construcao estao zerados de materiais.....principalmente nas montanhas de gelo, muito material para coletar sozinho lol
@@deGajdo Stash your materials at mountain knot and the Distribution Center south of Lake Knot. From Mountain knot get a truck and drive this route and you’ll get it built in no time. Make sure you got all Preppers connected to the UCA in the area so it’s a bit cheaper.

I fucking love the directors cut.
Who knew that building infrastructure is so satisfying?
Unfortunately or Fortunately, I made this game Platinum January 2020 ... I wish the trophy system was updated... i Love This Game
When you boot up the directors cut you’ll get all but 3 trophies because of the new items and structures.
Whats going on with the lights flickering on your video dude?
We've all got our switches, lights, and knobs to deal with, Striker. I mean, down here there are literally hundreds and thousands of blinking, beeping, and flashing lights, blinking and beeping and flashing they're flashing and they're beeping. I can't stand it anymore! They're blinking and beeping and flashing! Why doesn't somebody pull the plug!
Do you mean the lights in the back of the truck?
That frame rate cured my cancer.
