Most badass drum major in DCI I saw Finals in person too, did you guys ask Brandt Crocker to have you announced as a Conductor instead of Drum Major? Either way it was super cool.
At Phantom we call ourselves “Conductors” because we pride ourselves in our more expressive, orchestral/concert conducting style. Both are absolutely correct and okay to say! My admin team put in a change to have it say “conductor” instead of “drum major” in the announcements this year. I had no idea they did that until I heard it at the first show!
I watched the community performance at Kentucky Wesleyan as a birthday celebration, and then saw you guys at the Evansville clinic. I may be a malletist, but you are a hero! You’re amazing!!

Some could say she’s the conductor because she uses a baton, but she still conducts like a drum major. Either way is technically correct!
