      You guys fail to understand that this is a power-grab. The media (left and right) are simply another branch of the government. The "mind-control" branch. It's all programming. By using these words repeatedly, they are preparing the populace for the idea that big societal changes will come out of this, and it won't be in our benefit. They fully intend to create a "new normal" out of this crisis. Just like 9/11, only bigger.

    • @azrnzala
      @azrnzala 4 года назад +2

      We will eventually got back to the 'same normal', most likely. But in the past, outbreaks lasted multiple years, and we could often get things under the control through a lasting immunity or vaccine. SARS-CoV-2 is also an interesting beast because of the asymptomatic transfer and ease of transfer. We also have very little information on how this mutates, how long immunity will last, how easy it can spread through droplets/aerosols, actual mortality rate (which we will understand better as testing scales) etc. As we learn this information, our response can evolve. But right now, the reality of it is we need to balance maintaining our economy without causing a secondary wave that could be as bad, or worse, than the current outbreak nationally. The "new normal" will be a thing until we develop heard immunity, and possibly a vaccine. The scary part is, we don't know how this will evolve over time. It may turn out the immune response to the corona virus is not strong enough to create a lasting immunity, with mutations on the order of a typical flu, which could make this seasonal. Swine flu caused a particularly strong response which made the host more resistant to other flu strains at the time. That doesn't seem to be the case with this bug. If it diverges into multiple strains, we could have a real mess on our hands where we have to start practicing intermittent social distancing for the perceivable future. The impact of this virus is not going away any time soon, and will likely impact the world's society and how we interact for the next decade at least. But what happens depends on what we learn. Our brains are our best weapons. The worst thing we can do is act irrationally and emotionally. Nature has wiped out civilizations in the past. Ours is not immune.

      They distanced us so we can communicate through social media (like right now). Now they know exactly from who and where resistance will come from to global government and economic changes. Whoever "they" are, are running an experiment and we are all the test subjects. We've given them all the information they need:what we watch on netflix, what we comment on youtube,Facebook and twitter, and what we txt close friends about our true feeling about the current situation we've been put in. Remember the 100k-240k that were supposed to die? We are nowhere near that number. Its all just scare tactic to keep us at home feeding "them" with info.

      the term "social distancing" is pretty synonymous with physical distancing. it was coined during the original SARs outbreak in 2003. Note that just physical distancing from other people is often not enough, and we also have to reduce our exposure to places where a lot of people travel (stores, etc.).

    I wish people would stop saying "normal life" what is normal? People were struggling day to day before this and will continue afterwards. Also, this pandemic has changed some lives in irreparable ways. Make a plan to help americans strengthen their health and personal income so we can all come out of this with a step forward in our lives.

    I was at Harborview, the main Seattle public hospital, today for an appointment and I asked every nurse and doctor I met how things were going and they all said there was no bed shortage or over-crowding and they cautiously think they've seen the worst of it. Most of the staff were wearing masks but a lot of them weren't. The problem I heard about was the shortage of gloves and masks. There was a prominent sign that said "Ask Us For a Mask" so I asked for a mask and was told there were no masks. One thing that clearly has helped is that we don't have knuckleheads for mayor and governor. They were both smart enough not to wait for the President to put his pants on. And I'd bet anything that neither one of them thought about the next election even a second.

    Living here for 32 years, I feel I am qualified to comment. What will Seattle's new normal be? It will be 9 months of rain with the same idiotic liberal leaders who have screwed up this once great city. I can proudly say......... I'm leaving.
