This canopy is a unique and functional design! As always, you are the king of recumbent trike inventions! I recall watching your music speakers videos a while back (yeah, it's been a while, haha). That's okay though, because it's even more exciting when you come out with a new one. I like that the canopy does not have any frontal attachments, for all the reasons you stated. Nothing out front to interfere with entry, exit, or vision ... makes more sense to me. And with that brilliant day-glow yellow color, it really helps being seen by motorists.
Scorpions are great trikes! I love mine, which I got new in June 2021. I run the Schwalbe Marathon PLUS tires however, because I spend more time on pavement than I do in the dirt and backwoods. Of course, I do not enjoy the traction that you do with the knobby tires, so if I'm on soft ground, at times I have to get off to make it through.
Thanks for the "heads-up" on this video! I watch so many riders' presentations over time that I know I do not make the rounds completely, and probably end up missing some.

    Inspirational design & execution.
I've been pondering how to do something similar for my Catrike 700.

Thank you for the kind words!
The design and execution were relatively easy and straightforward due to the HP seat frame design. The little bit I know about the Catrike 700 seat and frame design, it seems this approach could work, although nesting and securing the torsion rod assembly may be a little more involved. Also with the Catrike 700 being touted as a speed machine, this canopy setup will add some weight to your trike, albeit not a significant amount, probably around 2 to 3 pounds!
