Norma was just like their mother, and if the other one, Ruth Ann wasn't careful, she wasn't going to be too far behind. She was ignorant and couldn't stand Netta either, but she didn't hate her enough to hurt her like Norma was going too. My parents always use to say it starts in the home and in this case, it all started with Rosie. She needed to take responsibility for herself and what she did to these girls.

That would not be a good idea for Nettie to fight Norma. Norma wants an excuse to fight her. Plus Netta isn't the violent type. She did the best thing to protect herself. Netta has has a lot to lose.

I know that Norma and Ruth Ann were acting lick bytches to Netta and Manipulate Billie Jean but through the movie I would have to place the blame on the Mom. Moma Rosie always played favorite to Netta. She wanted her daughters to achieve just like Netta. But basically they got pregnant and dropped out of school. That can cause any resentment towards the mom and takes it out on the wrong person

It's sad. The sisters haven't gone anywhere in life...and with their bitterness they are also trying to keep Billy Jean from going anywhere
