    Some very nice cars, Laszlo! I have a flatbed truck by Lion Cars, Holland. The text on the sides of the DAF 400 is of course Dutch and not German. It says: 'A new solution for slippery stairs.' Looks to me like a promotional vehicle that was given to customers.

    The Skoda Octavia is really looking beautiful. So much nice stuff.
    The russian van START is really cool looking - first time I saw it I was actually thinking it is something American.
    The decals on the DAF van are in Dutch. Looking like an older model with the metal base. Great unboxing!

    The Opel Blitz furniture van is from the huge "Opel Collection" - the series consists of over 150 models covering the entire history of Opel, including some oddities from the GM-connection badge enginering (Chevrolet, Daewoo, Vauxhall etc) - all models were regular cars, with the exception of 4 special- or bonus models: 2x 1952 Opel Blitz (aka Weich-Blitz = soft-Blitz) - one of them a fire truck and the other a curtainside and two even older Blitz like yours, the other one being a dropside tipper. Your model is the only one of the entire collection that didn't come in a display case. The packaging consisted of a simple neutral white cardboard box with a front cutout window and the model itself encased in a clear plastic clamshell. The reason for this is probably to save on weight, since it was part of a bonus package, also consisting of a quite heavy Opel dealership street diorama. Since the series was subscription based, shipping costs were quite important.
    There were quite a few commercial van collections by IXO/Altaya, mainly covering Spanish, French and Italian models and brands. I'm pretty sure that some, if not all of yours are from these collections.
    Some of the others are from 1 or 2 big DeAgostini collections for eastern Europe. These came in very simple packaging consisting of a cardboard base with a glued on bubble-top. The models themselves were not very impressive, but there were quite a few that were totally unique and not available anywhere else (at least not at the time) like Syrena, Warszawa, Yugo 45, Skoda 105, Wartburg, Volga, Zastava and a myriad of Ladas, including your Samara.
    All in all, a very nice package of really interesting models. I imagine many of them must be pretty hard to find nowadays,

    Half remember the Skodas. Half remember the Opel from war films, but the rest are rarities to me. Except the Lads Samara. I actually owned one of these. Ranks alongside my 1954 Ford 97E Popular as an awful car to drive. Lovely selection of rarities. Nice one Laz

      Lada was never a pleasant car to drive but there was no choice around here so we liked it ,Skoda was better but less powerful. Thank you Ian for watching

    • @ianhow100

      @LaziLowcollectables Also remember having a Lada Riva & the Skoda Estelle. . Youre right about speed. The only car to leave a silver trail lol. Actually better to drive than the Samara, (more comfortable) remembering them to ba 1960s Fiat 124. A bit of a white knuckle ride at anything over 60mph. Enjoy the rest of your weekend

    • @LaziLowcollectables
      @LaziLowcollectables  Год назад

      I think the Riva is the 2102 and the Estelle was the face lift Š120 130 here in mainland Europe ,pardon ,outside the UK .No matter how good the cars are now to me they are not comparable to the 80's cars imho,it's probably sentimentalism

    • @ianhow100
      @ianhow100 Год назад +1

      @LaziLowcollectables I will agree. Too many on-board toys with new ones. Just had one old boy say his car was immobilised to to the computer flagging up a security alert. It wouldn't unlock the steering column.

    • @LaziLowcollectables
      @LaziLowcollectables  Год назад

      Too many electronics in these cars ,bulls@.t ,the only reason for that for you to use the garages for repairs so you pay good money and they get a lot of profit ,again Imho

  • @lotharrenz4621
    @lotharrenz4621 Год назад +1

    that was very nice of them. :) interesting collection there.
    can't help you on the skoda models brand, never heard of them. since I tend to spend my money on new models based off Ford, some brands just fall off the shelf for me, since they don't offer what I want. (sometimes I fall for some interesting hot wheels or matchbox model, they have revved up on old originals as of late).
    the Start vehicle looks like they tried to create a personal luxury mini-bus, I suspect not for the masses like the other luxury limousines. :P if it wasn't for the protruding rear end it would have looked like somethign they could have sold world-wide.
    a friend of mine used to have a Samara, they were sold in germany as well (until Lada Germany went bankrupt). nice car, cheap, not too thirsty... but never try to pull a large camper. especially not up the hills on the autobahn A8 between Stuttgart and Ulm, which is a challenge when your car doesn't have many HP, and much more when there is a big trailer behind it... if large trucks take you over you know you are SLOW. XD
    the Opel Blitz was developed late 30's, and it was pretty fast for it's time. Opel put the 2.6litre straight-six engine under the hood. I think it was lowered to 70HP, but it had enough torque to push that truck forward. this model most likely shows one from right before WW2, or one that survived and was used right after the war. that triangle above the cabin was supposed to be folded up if there was payload in the back, maybe to signal the truck being extra slow? the nazis had some funky rules in that regard...
    Lion Models used to make little 1:65 scale cars and light trucks during the 60's I think, but reverted to 1:55 scale and big trucks for collectors later, like EFSI did. That DAF truck ought to be pretty old methinks. 80's or something...
    the Citroen Mehari had a fibreglass body with the 2CV axles fitted to. german authorities couldn't fathom that, and came up with questions about how long will it last, and what if it caught fire? they of course ignored that the Chevy Corvette also had(has) a fibreglass body on a sturdy frame, and nobody asked that from GM... so the Mehari was never officially sold and registered in germany. there are still some around nowadays, imported from other european countries, which makes registering them here possible.
    long live bureaucracy.
