Best line in the movie.
I used to chat with Miles when he used pass by our lobby on the way to the health club/pool in NYC...he was cool and on top of his game right up till the end.... boy I would have taken a few steps back if I knew he was this gansta back in the day.... his father was a doctor and he got the mind of genius....cool cat... RIP MIles...
This is the role Cheadle was born to play.
Cheadle best roll Devil in a blue dress
This guy talks like everyone in the house is sleeping lol
That is how he talked in real life.
+Estivel Garcia He had surgery to remove polyps in his throat and the story goes that he didn't, or wouldn't, obey the doctor's orders to not talk for ten days. That permanently altered his voice for the rest of his life.
+CrandMackerel The smokes probably didn't help either.
+Estivel Garcia His voice was really raspy to the point that he sounded like he was whispering.
+Estivel Garcia
he inspired the likes of *Snoop Dog*
Don Cheadles portrayal of Miles is dead on....
+william Aggrey-Orleans was Miles a thug?
BRAD PITT He was an eccentric and quick tempered but a thug....i think not
william Aggrey-Orleans
did he drink Lean ?
+william Aggrey-Orleans From the IDGAF/I take no sh!t from anybody attitude to the raspy/slightly gravelly voice.
+BRAD PITT he did heroin...but heroin and lean are both opiates that kill you so...the same shit.
He has the high ground.
+Stannis Baratheon You underestimate his power
Only a sith deals in absolutes.
+Stannis Baratheon I thought you were dead.
+santaria19 From my point of view the.....wow, I can't even bring myself to type that.
You were my brother Anakin! I loved you! Agh Ewan saved the prequels haha
This is gonna be awesome!
Don Cheadle as Miles Davis...PERFECT CASTING!
I can't wait to see it!
+loveinspired7 Well he did direct it.
Black Jesus I did noticed he was the director as well! I think he's gonna be great in this role... he's an excellent actor!
loveinspired7 I agree
I wish he got either, Edi Gathegi or Michael K. Williams to play Miles Davis due to the likeness factor. But I'm still a major fan of Don Cheadle. He is one of the Greats!
I so agree with you, perfect casting. Don Cheadle is an amazing actor.
Don sends a Cheadle down my spine.
sorry I will see my self out
That was a good one, not going to lie 😂
lmbo
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Joseph Ben-Obasa You should Crazy Carl. :-P
0:58 Chills down my spine..
+ThisIsMyFullName Yes! And also 1:11 *sigh*
kind of blue, the best jazz album I've listened to so far.
infringedblue blue in green, one of the best jazz tracks ever
Don!!!! They picked the right guy for this role Hands down...
+Noah Cherry "They" picked the right guy? Why "they"?
+NaijaCINE The director picked Don.. because he's a perfect match..Don look exactly like Miles..
+Noah Cherry But Don Cheadle IS the director
+Roman Jotanovic Hahaha, that's why I was like , 'they?' Hahaha, you just gave me a good laugh
When you say they, what are you 'implying?' The 'they' referenced most likely was Mr. Cheadle, as he also is the director. They were really busy making this movie, holding down two essential roles. I mean he... :)
This will be the best biopic EVER.. We been waitin for this one.. finally Miles will be honored w the respect he deserves in a just depiction of his life.. A must study for any true artist
Sooooo excited for this movie! To say I'm a huge fan of Miles Davis is an understatement! I've read his biography several times, and I'm a collector of his music.
I've been following this movie since it's inception, and this trailer looks awesome. I'm ecstatic that this story is being told! Don Cheadle is going to kill this role!
+Melita Jackson Ditto! You took the words out of my keyboard.
I like everything about this trailer. Between the Miles Davis Biopic, the Nat Turner movie, The Jesse Owens "Race" movie, 2016 will be a big year for Black directors and actors.
+Hightop David Right!
And an even bigger year for the white ones, again. Quit making everything about race, movies with black actors/directors come out every year, lmao.
+Pillopants ...because people love hearing how things should "stop being about race" when, the projects themselves deal with race issues. Cool.
+SoulnSong Bigger issues are happening in the world, ones with race(especially in the movie industry), however, aren't one of them.
+Pillopants (...to you.) But just because you can't relate to those issues (in this case race), doesn't mean that they're insignificant. Oddly enough, that's the reason race relations in America are so bad, because the majority fail to empathize with the minority. This brief convo, is another great example of that.
Don Cheadle is one of my favorite actors. Years ago I thought about how awesome it would be if he played as Miles... fast forward about 10 years and _voila!_
Don Cheadles as Miles Davis = Awesome!
It was not awesome!
That raspy deep voice I'm waiting for don Cheadle to say, " I'm batman!"
+Matthew Livingston "I'm Black, man!"
+Matthew Livingston ...................lol
More like "I'm Kendrick Lamar"
+Matthew Livingston Don Cheadle nailed his voice.
Well...thats what Miles Davis sounded like
Dear Mr. Don Cheadle (I hope you see this). I just saw your film.
Really loved it. Miles Ahead flowed like jazz; bumps and starts, and
sudden intensities. I hear some critics thought the sub-plot was lame.
Not me, and a very clever way of making a very important point. Nice
editing too. Something you should be very proud of. Bravo. p.s. The
live band Cheadle as Miles plays with, included Antonio Sanchez on
drums, Herbie Hancock on keys, and Wayne Shorter on horn.
Just saw the Charlie rose interview with Don Cheadle. From the trailer Don you did good. Music sounds like originals. Seminal classics all. Can't wait to see this. Hope the movie has wide distribution and success. Black Classical music / Jazz / American Music - whatever. This stuff will be studied and revered long after most pop icons are long forgotten.
apparently music biopics are catching up to popularity. Straight Outta Compton, I saw the light, this
and who can forget Brown...
+ObvDull Jaliyl Beig The Brian Wilson biopic "Love and Mercy".
Don't forget Get On Up.
And most of them come out in August.
+ObvDull Jaliyl Beig They've always been popular
For years i have thought: if they've made a movie about miles davis, don should be the one to play him. Well...here we are with a movie about miles starring don :)
Miles Ahead + Born to be blue.
My films of the year.
I have been forcefully listened garbage sounds for too long time.
Oh god, I am going to watch these two films over and over, than buy the DVD, and send it to my father.

Don Cheadle is always amazing. .

Cheadle is a genuis and guru with this acting

That intro and that sax was beautiful
It feels like he's playing Captain Planet

"Don’t call it ‘jazz’, that’s some made up word. It’s social music"
My this looks promising. Don Cheadle looks really perfect for the role. I can't wait! I'm going to watch a Miles Davis concert video right now :)
Excellent film told from an interesting perspective. I've watched it multiple times. Plus that social music...
Don Cheadle movie, I'm there.
I love both of these actors and I'm excited for this movie. Yes!!!!!!
He's Oscar nomination (and probable win) will be well deserved. I only needed 10 seconds to realise that.

Cheadle was amazing in Talk To Me, one of my all-time favorite biopics, so this should be GREAT
Wow. I was so disappointed in talk me and I'm just hearing about this one so 🤔

They say Miles was a mean man but bad on that horn... Rest Mr. Davis...🤍🕯🕊

"Don't call it jazz man that's some made up word. It's social music." DAMN!
He got the voice down pat. I definitely want to see this.
Looking forward to this.
Finally Don Cheadle does something that suits his talent!
All your favorite artists: really f'n high
If you didn't know, his voice is raspy because when he got surgery to remove polyps from his throat. He wasn't supposed to talk for 10 day after the surgery, but guess what he did: scream at a member of his quintet, leaving him with a voice that remained throughout his life.
hoping to see it this week
The Greatest trumpet player ever
In your opinion, check out Lee Morgan
My father was big fan of him...RIP DAD...
Can't wait!!
this looks pretty incredible
Did Terrence Howard got replaced?
😂
Legend has it Ewan Mcregor is still dodging his calls to this day...
+Mohamad Shamel Terrence Howard is the only man on earth who can, and should, play Rick James when that movie gets made.
Kenny Bunkport and then get replaced by Don Cheadle if the movie got a sequel.
+Kenny Bunkport Fact!
Looking forward to this one.
I cant wait to see the goat my brother played my the last cd he put out in the 90's

In all the Miles interviews there are of Miles here on YT, never saw him once smoking a cigarette. What's the first thing we see on the movie? Miles lighiting a cigarette on a interview. Thank you, tobacco companys, for showing who was running the show....
A movie where War Machine and obi-wan kenobi meet? take my money!

Just watched lasr night at the riviera maya film festival, excellente. Great pace from beggining ti end
I read an article that led me to watch this trailer, honestly I had never even heard of it. Apparently Don Cheadle worked his ass off to get this movie made...I really hope it works!
Way to go Don
A movie written by Don Cheadle, directed by Don Cheadle, produced by Don Cheadle, and starring Don Cheadle- playing Miles Davis
I hope they have the scene when he was sitting at a table with Reagan and his wife, he made a funny remark that sums up his achievements.
I want to see this movie!
Eccentric pioneer!
This looks badass. They finally got one right.
I'm so excited for this movie omFG
