    I have them. I keep the heat at medium as the site says and so far everything is well after 3 months. I get a decent char on things that need to have that. Easy to take care of for me. For most things I use the Caraway, but for steaks I use cast iron, carbon steel or stainless steel. I don't throw any of my pans in to wash right when they are hot. I always wait for them to cool down before I wash them whether they are stainless steel, ceramic, carbon steel, or cast iron.

    I would probably agree regarding the cookware set. Those reasons are why I swear by my all clad stainless steel. However, I do have the caraway food storage container set and a few of their bakewear pans that I was missing from my collection. Those products are excellent. Plus customer service was awesome and threw in a free organizer even though I didn't buy the entire bakewear line. Glad she gave credit where it's due to their customer service team. It just goes to show before you leave unsatisfactory feedback, just ask and you may be surprised.

      @@melissab.3377 it's always great to try before you buy. If you consider trying an all clad pot I put cleaning directions. I suggest an All clad skillet of any size you choose. The all clad model I use is the D5. The only set-back is maintenance. In my opinion, it's worth it because they will last for a very long time. The best way I found to clean them is to let it cool in the sink, next use bar keepers friend (liquid form not powder) and scrub the heavy food off. Do that with your favorite sponge. I like the Scotch ones because they have both a soft and scrub side gentle enough for the finish. Next do a quick pass with bar keepers friend on the bottom in case of spilling on the range. Just be careful to be quick about using the bar keepers friend; or else it will tarnish the finish if it isn't rinsed thoroughly and right away. I learned to make sure to rinse around the handle joint carefully when I first used these. The last thing is that I do a final pass all over the pot with dawn dish soap. (I use a foaming pump for my dawn soap because I think that it's too concentrated on its own) This really makes the finish like new and removes excess bar keepers friend. Once thoroughly rinsed, be sure to thoroughly dry it so that any remaining drips don't tarnish the finish. It seems like a pain at first and they are heavy but to me it's worth it. They cook beautifully and look stunning. These are just things that I wished I knew. I ended up purchasing a second covered skillet because I tarnished the first one. Both are still used 😊 one is just prettier than the other. One last thing, it's helpful to wipe the range prior to use. This prevents anything being cooked onto the finish from the stovetop.

    I recently bought 3 pieces of Staub cookware, a Dutch Oven, Frying Pan and Traditional Skillet. It cost me more than $1,000 those tree pieces of cookware. To be honest it do not matter if you buy a higher end cookware because all of them have their pros and cons. My first disappointment was that food sticks, you can’t cook with heat more than medium low because it would burn the food, and when it come to cleaning, it requires time and care because of the fragile ceramic exterior and inner enameled. The Enameled stains very easily and don’t come out completely spotless after washing it throughly a few times, I’ve to add boiling water with 2 to 3 tbsp of baking soda per manufacturing instructions to remove the stains every time I used the cookware, the stains come off, but the time you have to put into caring the cookware is a headache. If you do not have the time to baby sit and care for such a expensive cookware is not recommended either. And for the things a have read about the Le Creuset, the cookware also has it’s pros and cons as Staub.

    • @jeffhoward1423
      @jeffhoward1423 6 месяцев назад

      Staub really can handle high heat, but you have to maybe a but liberal with the fat. Let the pan heat fully, add fat and let that heat fully, then add ingredients. Im not precious with my staub pieces. They get used on high and washed in the sink 🤷‍♂️

    This was the most useful review of these pans. Thank you! I was thinking of buying these cause they’re so beautiful but I can’t use pots/pans that I have to be soooo careful with. Also, fyi the claims they are “safer” than other nonstick pans are about PFOA in Teflon pans which are now irrelevant as since 2013- manufacturers of nonstick pans meet the federal standards for safety so Caraway is marketing something that is no longer an issue.

    • @LoveLikeaHurricane
      @LoveLikeaHurricane Год назад +5

      that may be true, but..... however other materials used for nonstick in the pans used these days will possibly be claimed to be not good for you in the future. Like Asbestos now being no longer on automobile brake system, that doesn't mean the other materials used now in current brake pads won't cause health hazards.

  • @bailyjepsen5988
    @bailyjepsen5988 2 года назад +33

    Any non-stick pan/pot should not be used with high heat. That is the most simple rule about them because you do end up breaking down the non-stick layer over time. Just like how you can’t scrub them. It’s not just a Caraway flaw. So I think it is a little unfair to put them through the ringer for this one detail.

    • @EmilyPerrySLP
      @EmilyPerrySLP  2 года назад +23

      I don’t think I put them through the ringer. Just gave my honest feedback as to why I ultimately didn’t keep them in case others out there are like me, and prefer to cook on high heat. Part of Caraway’s selling point is that the pans will retain and maintain heat due to their design. I just didn’t find that to be true for my dishes.

      @@EmilyPerrySLP Yeah you didn't put them through the ringer. LoL. For me if I get a good 5 years of use out of them I'll be happy. Ceramic isn't the only type I use. Sometimes I use carbon steel, stainless steel, or cast iron depending on what I'm making, but I use my ceramic for most things. So far I get a good char on my veggies and things like that when I need it on my Caraway using medium heat and either olive oil or avocado oil. Sometimes I'll use duck fat or beef tallow for things that helps with getting a decent char. Nothing like cast iron or the others but good enough. I usually baby all my stuff anyways so it's not a big deal for me to wait till my pans get to regular room temp before I wash them. I do that with any cooking material cookware. But that's just me. I've gotten good at it so doesn't take me much time.
