What I found so interesting is how current these studies are. How much we are still learning and changing the narrative. Fascinating. I'm glad we had video in time for this episode. It really added to the experience.
I am an interior designer and I've been talking myself out of recommending to switch out your coffee table! Super SIM. In terms of form and finish, the new one works so much better!! ❤ (Aesthetically it complements the stain of the wood on your shelves rather than causing visual friction.)
I love having the video of Dax and Monica now! I wish the camera angle wasn't shifting so often though. Its disorienting to follow how complex this conversation is when my eyes are readjusting, literally, every 2-4 seconds.
I think it would be cool if they gradually replaced the staged books with ones written by their guests. They could even remove the dust jackets from hardcovers to maintain a similar aesthetic
Dax I always thought the face you’re making in your main podcast photo seemed kinda fake or odd but you actually make that face when you laugh and I LOVE IT
PLEASE READ STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND! Heinlien wrote it in 1961 and was so ahead of his time. I recommend listening to supertramp crime of the century while reading. Ps this is a binge read. Enormously captivating with also the head scratcher which has never been solved. Love you both
I have an analogy here. I think that what he portrays in his work, which is how the brain of all beings is the same, but on an evolutionary path, is akin to himself. I feel like he is so similar to all of us as human beings, but on a really beautiful evolutionary path!
the part about the poster on the wall is so funny. dax says it so nonchalantly and monica’s reaction is perfect. armchair expert needs a tiktok - some of these moments would be SO GOOD clipped❤️🤞🏼🍒
Question for wobby wobb. Do you handle the cuts and the transitions of the video? Do you do it live with a stream deck or later in software? Or does wondery have someone who handles these things now?
Interesting call out of Robert Heinlein book STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND, since this is the source of the word GROK, which is what the Elon Musk company xAI chose to name their LLM chatbot. The book defines grok as a Martian concept for a deep understanding of something, which is far from our current understanding of human intelligence and AI.
@@Jordan-jv1tz as someone that is 6'2" as well, I respectfully disagree. Whatever the case maybe for dax, I just thought that the chair looked a little small on him.
At this time I am trying to avoid any type of political debate/ argument. Your podcast has been a great way for me to do that. Until lately. In the past couple weeks you guys have gone on about ideology and candidates many times. So I guess I will have to avoid your podcast until after the election. I am so fed up with all the ads and banter. I guess I will be back to you guys in 6 weeks or so.
I’m sure Dax and Monica can’t control the commercials on RUclips, but knowing Dax’s political lean he probably wouldn’t be happy knowing this video started with a TRUMP advertisement. I don’t like that guy either and I’m wondering how it’s even popping up here. Going back to the traditional podcast
Hey Monica, ya might want to do a little more research on ASU before you make up things that aren’t true about its campus 😬😬😬 not only is it one of the biggest public schools in the nation, but also the leader in sustainability and innovation. Not just a party school!! Lots of smart people here!! Also there is one singular floating river in one small apartment complex… sincerely, a proud ASU grad! (With honors, and a big girl job) 😁♥️

Had this same thought, it made me kinda nauseous. I think if they used both cameras in a split view or quad view it could relieve some of that!
3 minutes in and I just bought Max's book on audible based on the high recommendation ❤ and yes he's a babe..(straight man recognizing beauty)
love to hear it!

Love getting to see Monica roll her eyes at Dax when he does impressions of others 😂
