So I'm currently struggling to kick alcohol. I've been successful kicking the meth (near 2 years now), and I did it on my own. I thought I was trying hard, trying to get my drinking down to 1, maybe 2 times a month. That went well for about 7 weeks, and I've been back to drinking 3 or 4 times a week again (used to be 7 days a week). Anyway, I always try to do it on my own. Hearing these two talk about being in recovery amongst others, and they speak so positively of the experience....has encouraged me to decide to reach out & find a local group that might help me with this battle. I'm grateful for candidness of both Theo & Dax. I'm so glad I came across some clips from this! ❤
It's so refreshing to hear men speak the truth about how they viewed a break up and their romantic mistakes. I don't think I've ever heard a man talk about it candidly until this video. Thanks guys. I really wish you all the best in your relationships. Keep up the good work. 😊
When Dax talked about how he wanted to be amazing at sex, “I need to give her that thing in a way that she will never go, need it or leave me for it..” That completely blew my mind! I never knew that men were capable of feeling that way. I thought only us women did that 😱
Being around other sober people, when you've been there yourself, is a level of understanding and openness, without judgement, that is very comfortable and its hard to find that with people who aren't recovered yet, or have never experienced it. You can learn so much from others in the same situation that could be very helpful in your journey, and vice versa.
I really appreciate that Dax actually looks into, watches, or at least researches who he does a pod with. Even if he's a guest, still makes it a friendly pod and not like an interview.
All of the comedian “friends” have somehow never seen any of their specials. Like we’re not even friends and I watched them all lol. So fake and no one ever calls each other out.
Theo, I love you. You Rock and always will in my world. Dax, very fun and interesting. Just now finding out about your Podcast. Only thing that detours me is the BG / Rockefeller thing. Sure cool w Johns Hopkins research and whatnot but no mention of complete control of petroleum and and therefore the execution of natural remedies/native cures and the Now existence of Big Pharma and Pills pills pills. Like I said... Theo you da bomb diggity and Dax....still got some learnin' PEACE and LOVE!!!
The part about how we line up with breathing and heartbeat when we connect and how we don't when we don't is so huge! It is why so many of us can feel so isolated so much of the time. Not having anyone that is in that space or connection is like living on an island alone.
That moment when Dax, all bright eyed, mentioned building his house in Nashville and them being best friends-then Theo’s nervous laugh-killed me. It was sweet. 😂😂
It’s really beautiful to watch these two guys talk about such an awareness. So many people live their life refusing to acknowledge these things, and these guys are putting it all out there live.
He is.. but really how can you NOT just love Theo?? He has this innocent quality about him and he is so unaware the effect he has on people because of it ❤🥹
I'm literally driving through charlivoix as they were talking about it. Headed home to Petoskey. Moved up here to be a part of the recovery community and start a new life. 32 months goin strong . Their right, the beauty up here makes it so much more worth it.
Good for you. We use to go to our family reunion every 7 years or so, up in Charlevoix. Definitely a nice calm beautiful area up there. Congrats on your recovery & new lease in life. Hope you find everything you're looking for.
Thanks for talking openly about 12 step in your videos. It’s been a life changer for me and I’ve been sober 2 months 3 days today and not looking back.
Congrats. I cleaned myself up a few years back. Feels good to be clean & free from all the withdrawals & other b.s. addiction brings doesn't it? Stay strong.
Thank you for saying that. When Dax pulls up to the funeral at the gravesite on a Harley and yells “is this Billy’s funeral? “where’d you guys park?” Is an all time funny moment.
This was also one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. I actually just watched it again the other day it is free on RUclips. Still 20 years later it’s such a good movie!!!
Dax "We were skateboarding on the beach in the sand. I know a lot of people listening aren't gonna believe it" Theo "yeah I don't believe it." 😂 I always love how unapologetically honest he is.
The best part about this is Dax and Theo being excited about starting a new friendship with each other. Neither one of them acted like it was old hat, or not a big deal that they met someone cool. And the episode is less interview, more fly on the wall with two guys getting to know one another.
As a relatively recent listener of this podcast and a long time listener of armchair expert I’ve never ran so fast to RUclips when I heard about this. Amazing stuff!
Especially if they interrupt in the middle of something I wanted to hear and then he's off topic and doesn't go back. So I'm like "Come onnnnn....what were you saying?"😕
It's so nice to still hear nick on the podcast glad theo kept him around he is a huge part of making this podcast what it is , gang gang to the pre mature baby
As a female I appreciate them being aware of the impact their decisions and actions in their past relationships had on the partner. Few men will admit to that! Great episode so far! These two are great!!
Well, 80% of divorces are initiated by the woman, and women typically use children as pawns in a vindictive game after divorce, so they absolutely need to realize the harm they cause. 800k men around the world unalive themselves each year and no one cares, if the genders were reversed, it would be a world crisis.
First time I saw him was in the show parenthood that show truly changed my life just in terms of how I perceive life and how valuable family really is. Cool to see him come back in my life like this.

All of the comedian “friends” have somehow never seen any of their specials. Like we’re not even friends and I watched them all lol. So fake and no one ever calls each other out.
@@bigbrudda96dax researching about theo before the pod “really changed your life”? Weird.
Theo and Dax as BFF’s is the friendship we never knew we needed ❤
Listening to these two as someone in recovery too is cool. Well done, boys. You've both crushed it.
Addition - Bloody loved the podcast. Always a fan of theo, I'll now be looking out for Dax. Both great guys.

“I even seen the movie” referring to Justin Bieber obv. Theo : “The blindside?” 🤣🤣🤣
“I never had dyslexia, I don’t think” - Theo Von
The part about how we line up with breathing and heartbeat when we connect and how we don't when we don't is so huge! It is why so many of us can feel so isolated so much of the time. Not having anyone that is in that space or connection is like living on an island alone.
Dax: "I was drugged to church..."
Theo: "You were drugged?"
lmao
Just heard this and went to the comments to see if anyone else caught this lol 😂
@@herbieburbie I’d watch that compilation.
hes drugged right now lol
Yep. That in fact is what they said.
especially when he's talking to Joe Rogan
That moment when Dax, all bright eyed, mentioned building his house in Nashville and them being best friends-then Theo’s nervous laugh-killed me. It was sweet. 😂😂
In fairness, Dax comes off like he has the potential to be a leader of a cult.
I think Dax was flirting
Haha I caught it too. Theo, our nervous king.
Is it just me or does Dax not blink? His blink rate is almost non existent. 😂
@@sarb88omg I’m
Watching and you are so right! He doesn’t blink, I wondered why I found him intense but that’s it. Theo blinks every word 😂
The fact they met for the first time is hilarious! They talked like they were life long buddies. Great podcast 👏 Gang Gang!
It’s really beautiful to watch these two guys talk about such an awareness. So many people live their life refusing to acknowledge these things, and these guys are putting it all out there live.
Man Dax and Theo should be best friends, they’re both national treasures.. Glad Dax reached out
NICE TO SEE A CELEBRITY WHO IS NOT CHASING THE CARROT.. JUST BEING REAL. VERY REFRESHING!
Dax is interviewing Theo. Best interview ever! 🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️

He is.. but really how can you NOT just love Theo?? He has this innocent quality about him and he is so unaware the effect he has on people because of it ❤🥹
so infatuated it's hard to hide LOL
Feeling like an employee in your family but not knowing what your job is actually very relatable
I love how self-aware Dax is it's super inspiring to hear stuff. I've never heard before. His discipline is amazing.
I'm literally driving through charlivoix as they were talking about it. Headed home to Petoskey. Moved up here to be a part of the recovery community and start a new life. 32 months goin strong . Their right, the beauty up here makes it so much more worth it.
Good Carly. Keep fighting g the good fight my friend!

Good for you. We use to go to our family reunion every 7 years or so, up in Charlevoix. Definitely a nice calm beautiful area up there. Congrats on your recovery & new lease in life. Hope you find everything you're looking for.
No doubt my favorite theo interview to date. Dax is so damn genuine and Theo is sharper than ever. The blind side comment still has me rolling
I’m so glad Dax Dmd him bc this was one of the best episodes. What a great conversation.
Thanks for talking openly about 12 step in your videos. It’s been a life changer for me and I’ve been sober 2 months 3 days today and not looking back.
Good for you! Be kind to yourself. ✌️❤️
Congrats. I cleaned myself up a few years back. Feels good to be clean & free from all the withdrawals & other b.s. addiction brings doesn't it? Stay strong.
For anyone who doesn't know.....Dax Shepard's podcast, Armchair Expert if probably the best I've ever heard. I can not recommend it enough!
Without a paddle is one of my all time favorite movies!
I got that shit on dvd when I was kid and I watched dozens and dozens of times.
same bro, kinda gives the nostalgic child hood feeling you know
Thank you for saying that.
Free to watch on RUclips right now!!
Dax is such a G. What a charismatic guy. This was a fun convo thanks Theo.
Dax is such an amazing host, I wasn't sure how he would be as a guest. 10/10 to Mr. Bell
I'm currently 74 days clean from licorice and junior mints. Thank you you Theo, for the laughs, and even more so for the inspiration 😊
sugar is more addictive than cocaine, so I will commend you.
Dax talking about Martha’s Vineyard and Theo just brings up Daytona beach is hilarious
100%
dax is a very intent listener with great follow up questions. i’m so used to people being interrupted 1.5 seconds after speaking on a podcast.
I used to listen to Theo and Dax’s podcast while working a delivery job so this feels like world’s colliding! Sober conversations bruh gang
My man Theo was trying to say Berkshire Hathaway and started with Baskin Robins 😂 love the way his brain works
He also said blindside 😂😂😂
He is the Benjamin Button of words. If u give it more time, it will unravel
Yup, and that Dax made the connection for him…🎉
I love the honesty here. Doesn’t seem like Theo or Dax are trying to be anything, just being.
100%
“Gaslit the shit out of her” 😂 I love how honest these two are together! And I also love (but am not surprised) that Dax did his homework.
Dax "We were skateboarding on the beach in the sand. I know a lot of people listening aren't gonna believe it"
Theo "yeah I don't believe it." 😂 I always love how unapologetically honest he is.
Hahah what Dax said about the rich friends having a second fridge just for drinks was wayyy to relatable 😭
I LOVE that you two finally have met! A beautiful friendship is brewing. And then when Monica meets Theo, it'll all be incredible!
I feel that a new, genuine friendship has blossomed and I couldn’t be happier. Please have Dax back. Really enjoyed y’all’s energy.
These two are practically on the same frequency. They totally get each other 😆
This is a collab I had no idea could happen, but I'm here for it, big fan of both of these fellas!
Amazing stuff!
i feel like theo would teach dax a lot, he’s so grounded
The amount of people who have no problem Interrupting Theo drives me BANANAS
Especially if they interrupt in the middle of something I wanted to hear and then he's off topic and doesn't go back. So I'm like "Come onnnnn....what were you saying?"😕
7 minutes in and Dax is dialed in...a perfect pairing. Thanks!
we need this duo every week
It's so nice to still hear nick on the podcast glad theo kept him around he is a huge part of making this podcast what it is , gang gang to the pre mature baby
Long live the king and sting. It was funny. Gang gang buzz buzz.

Dax is a the kind of man you say: he's a actor in Hollywood but so humble and simple. He's just him and it's so cool.
As a female I appreciate them being aware of the impact their decisions and actions in their past relationships had on the partner. Few men will admit to that! Great episode so far! These two are great!!
as a man I wish more women would also admit to it, few women will admit to that
@@adrianharrison5208 very true !
Well, 80% of divorces are initiated by the woman, and women typically use children as pawns in a vindictive game after divorce, so they absolutely need to realize the harm they cause. 800k men around the world unalive themselves each year and no one cares, if the genders were reversed, it would be a world crisis.
I am an Arm Cherry so I am so excited to see my two favorite podcasters come together!
Yes! Monica, take notes and let's get some real-time fast answers.
First time I saw him was in the show parenthood that show truly changed my life just in terms of how I perceive life and how valuable family really is. Cool to see him come back in my life like this.

It is absolutely one of the greatest movies!
Nahh without a paddle was the one 😂
This was a fascinating interview from start to finish on BOTH Theo & Dax! I now have so much love and respect for both men!
The actual best two guys to hang out with! Loved this! I think Dax is a great friend for Dax! Loved how vulnerable yall were able to be with each other. That’s how friendships grow.
How someone could dislike this show is beyond me. But, 0.014% dislike vs 99.98% Like tells me I am not alone in appreciating Theo and his guest's honesty and relatability. It's second to none.

I don't like how he defended that creep Bill Gates whose wife divorced him cuz he was on the Epstein flights though😆😅 nobody can be cool with Bill Gates when he's buying up all of our farmland and saying he's going to send shrapnel into space to block the Sun....wtf!?🚨🚨🚨🚨👍👌🇺🇸

Oh I remember what I said I had mentioned someone whose name got deleted from the comments. (B.LLG4TES)... he has bought up all of our land in America around our military wants us to eat bugs and also wants to shoot shrapnel in the sky to block the Sun..... I'm sorry Dax didn't defend him that well
The biscotti rant😂…..

This was one of my favorite Theo Von episodes. Thank you both for sharing and btw Dax you have found your calling - Great job interviewing Theo, caring and curious about Theo, and asking the right questions - you might just be the next big Talk Show host. I listened to this episode twice :)
@34:08 Theo thinks Dax was calling him a "hyper vigilante" as opposed to hyper vigilant 🤣
Dax is great. A good mix of trash, sincere intellectualism, and endearing masculinity. I sorta forgot about the armchair after I left my last office job, so I didn't realize how much I missed hearing from him.
I miss hearing him say “uh-huhhh” lol

Only 45 mins in & gotta say, you two are way too relatable. God bless you both. Great interview.
I love seeing you two together! Been a Dax fan for so long, loved him in Parenthood !
Parenthood is so underrated!
I have watched it every time I’ve had a baby. Dax is incredible in it.✨❤️🔥
As a Michigander I cant believe I never knew Dax was actually from here. He always seemed like a funny, cool, down to earth guy so I'm excited to finish watching this podcast.
Also Theo please come to Detroit for a show this year. I just started going to comedy shows these past few years & you're pretty much the only one left thats on my "must see" list that I have yet to see perform live.
I love Dax so much this episode made me beyond happy. I love how honest he is with himself & others. I know it’s not easy to open up I’m sure it took years to realize his flaws but sharing it so openly is truly amazing & makes him so inspiring. Great episode for sure🫶🏻
