  • EagleNest Wildlife Sanctuary, nestled in the serene Eastern Himalayas of Arunachal Pradesh, India, is a biodiversity hotspot renowned for its rich flora and fauna. Spanning approximately 218 sq km, the sanctuary is a haven for bird enthusiasts, housing over 450 bird species, including the rare and enigmatic Bugun liocichla. The varied landscape, ranging from subtropical forests to alpine meadows, supports a diverse array of wildlife such as red pandas, leopards, and elephants. Besides its ecological significance, EagleNest also offers breathtaking vistas and tranquil trekking routes, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
I happened to visit this heaven during 2024, thanks to all the arrangements by Dilip Gupta from AvianTrips and of course our wonderful guide Micah Rai who also doubles up a researcher post summer and supports many scientific organisations doing primary research in Ornithology.
Please enjoy the wonderful birds and landscapes and let me know in your comments your thoughts and opinions !
