You totally missed one of the weirdest and quirkiest features of this (or any) car. The rear muffler was shaped like an aerofoil and acted like a rear spoiler to provide down force. That’s what the gigantic air gap between the trunk lid and the rear bumper is for. It allows the air that flows over the top of the muffler/spoiler to exit the rear of the car

That time, it was produced, I was visiting the factory plant and I was able to see, who the Z1 has been produced. It was so cool. A lot of was made by hand. I saw the most of the available colors. Very pretty. You missed one thing, which is common on sportscars today: a defusor at the rear. The Z1 has a kind of that. Pay attention ed nation to the gap between the rear bumper and the bottom of the trunk hood. This is the outlet of the air. The rear muffler is formed like a wing so the air goes over the muffler through this gap and produces downforce. That is one reason why the opening of the trunk is not that big ;)

The exterior door handle on the Z1 is so that you can open and close the door manually in case the motor that lifts the door malfunctions or in the event of an emergency.
To be honest i was thinking the same. It seems more practical to me. Doors on cars at the minute are huge slabs of metal swinging out sideways, how many people get stuck in cars cause some idiot pulls up right next to them. Or them super tight parking spots. Can't get out, or it's a hell of a squeeze? Not with doors like that it wouldn't be.
As someone who actually deals with designing things like this, I can tell you it's extremely difficult. Surprisingly this isn't the only car to feature this and it's just ridiculously expensive, hard to manufacture for more than 1 or 2 models hence why there are so few, it's heavy, and it's just not practical from a manufacturers point of view. Come up with a good design that can be mass produced and you'll see cars doing this
Seriously 5 times faster than my 1993 Miata power windows. I really need to clean and grease the rollers but it's too much work. Maybe I'll do it after winter when I sell the car to make it a bit more desirable

8:07, I think I found one of the conclusion for the BMW Z1, this roadster isn't recommended for accidents or crash as Doug mentioned that the body panels are plastic instead of metals. While the panels may crack after several years, an unexpected accident or crash may make matters worse. In my opinion, this roadster should be driven with fully 100% caution for those who own of rent a Z1.

i want a car with doors like that, companies take note, theres a lot of people who want weird shit on their cars.
To be honest i was thinking the same. It seems more practical to me. Doors on cars at the minute are huge slabs of metal swinging out sideways, how many people get stuck in cars cause some idiot pulls up right next to them. Or them super tight parking spots. Can't get out, or it's a hell of a squeeze? Not with doors like that it wouldn't be.
As someone who actually deals with designing things like this, I can tell you it's extremely difficult. Surprisingly this isn't the only car to feature this and it's just ridiculously expensive, hard to manufacture for more than 1 or 2 models hence why there are so few, it's heavy, and it's just not practical from a manufacturers point of view. Come up with a good design that can be mass produced and you'll see cars doing this

Cars and tech it also has to do with arms/leverage if the raising/lowering mechanisms.
Get new Delrin bushings for the window. The process only took me an hour total and was so worth it. Do it before your motors die!
That sounds like a great plan, my friend. The other day while I was cleaning my counter tops I noticed a strange buzzing sound coming from my refrigerator - I listened carefully and had to stop wiping to make it out, but sure enough, it was buzzing away. Now, I don't know if it was just a fluke or if it was just working extra hard to cool down the delicious coffee ice cream I had gotten for me and my wife, but it made me realize the general good fortune I've had with this house. Not much has gone wrong, and the things that have - haven't been beyond my capacity to fix! Now all that could change in a heartbeat, but as long as I know god is looking over me and my family - I know everything will be alright. Come to think of it, I could probably stand to grease the rollers in my windows too. There's nothing quite like the function of a freshly greased window unit!

8:07, I think I found one of the conclusion for the BMW Z1, this roadster isn't recommended for accidents or crash as Doug mentioned that the body panels are plastic instead of metals. While the panels may crack after several years, an unexpected accident or crash may make matters worse. In my opinion, this roadster should be driven with fully 100% caution for those who own of rent a Z1.
