Ive always wanted a massively co op wildland firefighter game... Hotshots, smoke jumpers, planes dropping retardant and water... Engine crews for protecting structures.... The ability to work the line and clear brush as a hotshot and deploy fire shelters if need be.... Ability to start back burns....A true firefighting simulator based around forest fires.... I think it would be super fun personally..... Could play out like Arma 3 co op kinda... Instead of the base you have the fire station... Fires dynamically pop up and are driven by weather and you have to respond.....

What a great mod that once more expands the world of Arma to include something we may not have thought fun....fighting fires. What type of waterbombers? Bush planes, or is it flat enough for them to be able to fly the larger ones low enough to do some damage?
801 Airtractors mostly....the LAATs (Large Airborne Attack Tankers) C130 MD11 and others have specifically trained crews. Rotary wings self fill as DDG showed.
This was really interesting to watch. I'm currently living in Montana, and currently there are wildfires all throughout the state. One in particular actually started about 2.5 miles away from my house. Fortunately it was spotted very early on and was contained very quickly. The fact that we have a DC-10 Supertanker stationed at the airport here in town, as well as many helicopters equipped to deal with the threat probably saved my house (and potentially my life I suppose).
One thing I would like to mention is the fact that it takes a lot more to putting out a fire than just dowsing it with water. Sometimes it's better to just focus on containment and letting the fire burn itself out in the area you've contained it to. It would be really nice to see this mod focus a bit more on how to properly put out a forest fire.
I believe that it would be really interesting to see this in a multiplayer setting where you would designate players to be either part of a flight crew or maybe even a ground crew even that would be tasked with rescuing potential downed helicopter crew. The people flying planes could focus on containment while the helicopters focus on the actual flames. On top of that, an air traffic controller could help maintain order in the air and prevent mid air collisions.
While I understand this would all be an absolute nightmare for frames as well as a logistical shit-show, I'm curious to see people's thoughts on this.

I'm a wild land firefighter (hotshot) and this is pretty cool, even the way the color and visibility changes is pretty darn accurate

I never thought I'd see the day, devil has played arma again.
If only the forest service was actually like this... I live in Oregon right next to the biggest fire currently taking over 128,000 acres with only an estimated 5% containment. Forest service said they will have substantial containment in about mid October.
Coming from a family of firemen and forestry firefighters I approve.
Devil, there is a Speedbrake/wheelbrake button for all planes in Arma 3. Check plane settings and start brakin! Good job landing that big girl without any brake ;)

I live in northern CA my city the air port is the main air attack base for this Region pretty cool watch them in real life .
I saw this mod and thought "totally useless". I had no idea that it actually added new gameplay effects and shit... Now I'd like to see this paired with a SAR mod/mission too.

Here in California to put out forest fires we use D.C.-10's and C-130's. No joke
I live near Sacramento and see C-130s painted in red and white flying out constantly to go fight fires
