Had to tewak a few things before it started working for me, for anyone seeing issues make sure you confirm the following things: - tracks in max. ~120Kbp/s - tracks are in a simple folder like "C:\Users\Name123\Documents\MWMusic" no special chars or spaces in the folder path - tracks have simple names, i've renamed all my tracks to 1.mp3, 2.mp3 etc. (Bulk Rename Utility is your friend) - (optional) you can tag the files with a software like mp3tag to have the track name show up correctly ingame - make sure you dont use vlc to create the m3u playlist it uses a wrong format, has to look like this: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:255,ACDC - Back In Black F:/Documents/NFSMostWantedMusic/1.mp3 vlc always added "file:///" in front of the file path (file:///F:/Docu...) and therefore the game could not locate the files, ive just removed all the "file:///" entrys with notepad++ and it works now - dont use to many tracks in the playlist, my game stops starting if I have a playlist bigger than ~180 tracks
Hey ingenioes6, I wanna know how did you manage to get 180 tracks within a playlist? My limit is 45 with the Expanded Memory option set to true on both the Unlimiter & Extra Options Scripts. I did what up mentioned with the simple path, renaming the tracks and using a proper software to get a m3u file.
@@blissfulzane715 Just a few months ago I tried to use the Music Player Mod in combination with KryZee's Redux mod and sadly I also had a lot of problems. I gave up after a few hours of troubleshooting ... sry cant help here. (But big shoutout to KryZee Redux Mod, insane work done here!)
for those who are experiencing crash problems when opening the game or getting stuck in the INFO: Processing playlist Here is the solution! 1st - download Audacity or any other desired conversion program. 2nd - convert all your music with the Hz rate at 48000 and convert the bitrate to 120kbps. 3rd - install the songs in the documents folder creating a folder with any name, preferably without spaces. 4th - change the name of the songs to Song.mp3 like this! Song.mp3 Song2.mp3 Song3.mp3 etc... 5th - to facilitate the process of typing the names of the songs use the mp3tag program or audacity and add only: the name of the song, name of the artist and name of the album. leave the rest blank, save and place it in the folder you created in documents. 6th - don't forget to update the playlist.M3U to new changes! 7th - right-click on speed.exe, properties, compatibility, select Windows 98 and run as administrator, apply changes and give an ok. curiosity! - for some reason, this mod does not accept music with high Bitrate, example: 240kbps or 320kbps. And crashes a Lot If you don't put Windows 98 and Admin.
I did the latest version of this mod, but my NFSMW copy is the Redux mod. For some reason, everything works, but I go blind on gameplay. Is there a fix? I didn't add the dinput like in the tutorial, but it led to the blinding problem.
[Assuming the possibility of using 180+ songs as in my case] For anyone who is having problems, I did exactly what is written in @Repliroid's comment, but it still won't open. So, I decided to do it in parts: each time I update playlist I added 30 songs an open the speed.exe. (30 + 30 = 60 then 60 + 30 and so on, I did this in an attempt to find out which one was causing a problem). I followed this procedure to add all 186 songs that I had chosen and to my surprise, at the end of it all, none of them had any problems, even those with special characters like "ö" in Motörhead. For me it solved it. Of course it still causes some unexpected crashes, but this is minimal, and more so when I'm messing in menu.
Tried latest version, crashes with more than 20 songs, tried 1.3, it doesn't play them, shows in playlist but no sound comes, whether it's .mp3 or .ogg files... still searching for a working version.
Tried installing it, command prompt is just blank. Probably has something to do with the widescreen mod I already have installed? Removed the music player, game boots up, removed the widescreen mod, game also boots up along with the music player. How do I make them be compatible with each other? I'd not like playing in a 1024x768 screen.
select everything except dinput8.dll open winamp or any music player select song you like save the playlist non-unicode .M3U when you see a command prompt blank "Press Enter Repeatedly" P.S. If this method doesn't work, Download the older version of the mods
Everything ALMOST works, except for the fact that the game can't play ANY track from my playlist. Instead, I keep getting the following string of errors all the time: ERROR: Error creating stream handle for file: .mp3 | BASS Error: 2 ERROR: Can't set volume attribute (handle: music): BASS Error: 5 ERROR: Can't play channel (handle: music): BASS Error: 5 ERROR: Error resuming channel (handle: music, restart: FALSE): BASS Error: 5 ERROR: Error resuming channel (handle: music, restart: TRUE): BASS Error: 5 What can I do to fix this and what should I do if some of the tracks are not recognized by the game? (I checked the unrecognized track and it plays normally in a regular music player)

Have you set ExpandMemoryPools to 1 in the NFSMW Extra Options config?
Because if the memory pools aren't expanded, there's a possibility that the game will crash with more than 20 songs.
What do you mean by old version? 1.1? 1.2? 1.4?
Tried installing it, command prompt is just blank.

Thanks, but I think I made it work, had to install first the music player without the widescreen mod on, then put it back.
what are those icons?
