That’s because the stock sounds in Logic (especially the legacy ones) are usually licensed out from various companies like Yellow Tools, ILIO, Ueberschall, and others. But the new stuff is usually made in-house.

Just opened this out of curiosity. thanks so much for sharing your amazement and enthusiasm for the piano, as well as your wondrous and mellifluous playing. Wow. happy holidays!!
Piano One by Sound Magic has been around for literally over a decade and it's pretty much the most versatile and best sounding free Piano VST that exists, especially for the extreme amount of customization options from the mic placement to the velocity response, volume envelope, etc. This does sound nice though. You'll probably still have to dice it up with an EQ to keep it from overtaking a mix where the piano isn't the premier instrument.
I had to respond to your video. Which I saw two days short after buying pianoteq 8. I’m totally pleased with it. But if I had a saw your video and realized I already had this plug-in in the new logic update I wouldn’t have purchased it. This sounds beautiful and just as good. I’m shocked like you. Purchased pianoteq on sale for the holiday for $200 maybe. I already had this and didn’t . I could’ve saved myself some money. Thanks for the demo and putting it out there.😊
My guy, you play so good you make any VST sound good. It’s like when they put Cory Henry to play a Casio, of course it’s gonna sound good these guys know how to play!
I'm usually the guy in the room watching and researching gear. However your review beckons my response. Your review was excellent. Your laying, phrasing along with specific exhibition of the pianos was awesome. I felt your genuine surprise at how good the piano upgrades are. My only question what keyboard are you using? It seems like a match made in heaven. Already subscribed a while back.
I so agree! It's really crazy especially the upright. It's very woody sounding with the different old noises it rivals any expensive VST I think. Very cool that they spend time on this ice. I'm assuming it's modelled and not sampled?
Bro, all three pianos are great. I used the studio and the upright one already in a few things. The concert one sounds great too. I love the release in all of them... all are unique. If you are looking for a good reverb, try the new one they just released a few weeks ago... there's a preset in the medium section called keys. Love that one. Turn the mix down a smidge and it blends really nicely.
