I constantly find myself back here. What a beautiful soundtrack to a beautiful show. I wish I had never watched shiki just so I could experience the whole thing again.
Honestly, it could have been better if the only vampire was Megumi and wasn't actually a vampire but some other kind of a monster, which was ressurected when she died unexpectedly and then took her revenge on the village or smth like that. I stopped watching Shiki the moment when more people became vampire and the anime stopped being centered over megumi

This show truly shows how grey humans are, easily changing to be able to carry (the village seems to be peaceful at the beginning but become filled with anger when finding out about shiki).

I actually strongly disagreed with this statement. Deaths can be comparably more or less terrible. I believe we can all agree that having your head crushed by a tractor wheel is quite an especially terrible death, for example

Always wondered where this song originated. I love it, it’s like a labyrinth of suffering and sorrow trapped within the very essence of my being. The abuse and suffering of life I have felt, and the advantage of it was only death, the most beautiful of it all.
This song used to make me feel giddy and warm. Like a mother’s embrace after a long fun day at school. Mostly how I was a child when I first heard this in a story. But now when things have came up, about the narrator, having grown up looking up to him when I was younger. It feels wrong. Sadden. Tainted. Farewell to he who helped me smile. I can only hope you’ll be held accountable for the sins you’ve committed.

I don't think anything Sunako did was inherently evil. She did what she did because she wanted to make a place where she and her kind could live without hiding or being afraid of being found by a population of people wanting to kill them.

Not at all. It's literally Megumi. The only-existing youth of Sotoba being the antithesis of the same village. Beautiful and charismatic from the outside but on the inside a trapped suffering soul wishing for a glamorous life somewhere outside of a village with judgmental close-minded people. She never gets to the city and her only source of escape Yuuki, in fact hated her. She never got what she wanted due to being in such a horrible position through out the show, even becoming malicious once she rose up, she finally found a community where she got accepted for who she was and got to express her hatred for the town in the position she was given. In the end she suffered the most and the whole show was totally against her from the beginning.

I was a bit disappointed that they killed her off like that but it was symbolic because she was different and now they had the rights to destroy the different in the worst way possible so the old generation could stay. In the manga Megumi's death would've fit with the Dance of death ost perfectly because she gets hit by a car as she crosses the road because she sees Yuuki finally for the first time after he died because she thought he was cremated and then she gets staked while her bones are broken. While she's having her last thoughts she thinks she made it to the city but it was actually just a magazine of hers with a picture of the city on the front cover and then she dies smiling, indicating her soul has been put to peace.
