Quick halo (thin white outlines) removal tip that changed my life: Make sure you're clicked on the mask then Filter > Other > minimum, set to (usually) between 1-2 or 3 pixels or until no more halo! It can happen even with high quality assets and this is usually a pretty good way to eliminate it :)
