It’s extremely difficult to become a tenured professor. 3. If you actually get an adjunct professor job, you’ll likely be spending years teaching subjects you’re not that interested in before you actually get to focus solely on your topics of interest.

Have a stronger defence - avoid doing negative things
    1) Science-related degrees: weakest in STEM for its basic biology - universities are pushing woke propaganda. Curriculums are clashing with objective realities and clouding politics views
    a. Good for only those who have a plan of getting a Masters or PhD as this is a great prerequisite
    b. Oversaturated; too many biology majors which increases competition amongst other grad students majoring in biology
    2) Too general degrees: valuable degrees are the ones where you can specialize
    a. Generalists can have access to online courses
    b. Communications degree
    3) Too specific: don't overdo it where your future job can be obsolete
    a. Printer Technology degree - does not carry over into other jobs - rather get an IT or CS degree
    b. Entry level IT jobs are more helpful since they get your foot in the door - lots of growth and opportunity
    4) Education: low unemployment rate but low paying and lack of opportunity
    a. Dead-end job, little progress, dealing with woke propaganda that you're forced to comply with
    b. Work hard, don't get paid well
    5) No demand: ie sociology degrees
    6) No degree required: creative writing
    a. Academic writing vs compelling writers
    7) No degrees specification: criminal justice degree - where companies do not care what you graduated with, rather they only care that you were able to obtain an education (bachelors)
Degree isn't necessary: information technology (IT) - you do not need a degree to get a certain career - you can work your way up.

I regret having gone to college for a parks and rec degree because it led me to jobs in the parks (even though it was linear) I was looked down on a lot by management and patrons. So my suggestion is DO NOT major in that (some parks that you could apply to may not require a degree). At least my student loan debt is all paid off, thanks mostly to my grandparents and a couple of grants that helped me thru. And now I work a job where I'm a lot more valued and respected, albeit you don't really need a college degree for it. But, TBF when I was interviewed for this job, the hiring manager said he was impressed by my rich education and work experience and told me I was "good to go." Furthermore, when I got one of my first jobs after college, my grandfather foretold me that there will be many twists and turns and that many opportunities will arise in the future. He was certainly a very wise man.
I just tend to feel that I could've almost easily went straight to join the workforce after HS and/or gone to trade school and it would've saved me time and years of my life.

Hey, so I'll be giving you advice on what helped my choose my major (Agribusiness Management). It looks like you're focusing on what you can't do; focus on what you CAN do! Take some time to make a list of all the skills/talents you have - even if you think it isn't relevant to jobs, write it on the list! Then, on another sheet of paper, list down your preferred work environment (indoors/outdoors/pace etc) and the salary you want and need. Then research as much as you can about different degrees and narrow it down to 2 or 3 best matches. At that point, pick the one you will enjoy/thrive in the most and (better yet) aim for degrees that teach transferable skills! Hoping for the best!

I’m thinking about going into marketing but I honestly only like the writing advertising research side and not the analysis side so that would mean I really just like advertising. My school has a journalism degree with an advertising emphasis and I like the classes but I’m worried a journalism degree won’t be as valuable. Should I just grit my teeth and do marketing or take a risk on journalism/advertising?

In Australia, sociologists work in our environmental consultancies so there is demand for them. Our environmental impact assessments require analysis of social impacts and demographics. So it all depends where youre located and the demands of the country your in. Best for people to research skill shortages etc. Also creative writing degrees, people end up working in communication or marketing roles. For example our government employees thousands of communication specialists across the country to craft customer responses, media statements and speeches. That is fine if you just want a job but if your after the creative bit, that's where is gets harder to find a job. Regarding our medical degrees, our universities require ungraduate degrees within the health or science field. However it is easier to get into university in Australia in comparison to USA where the population is very large and then of course a lot competition exists. So its all a bit of a mish mash and hard to generalise these types of things.

If you’re gonna do IT, find a specialty or role you want to involve yourself in and learn using online resources. College is great for the reasons you mentioned, however do not solely rely on getting a degree in a field that has so many aspects to it.

They do that with the assumption that you’ll go on to get a master’s degree and PhD, but they neglect to tell you a bachelor’s degree in biology likely won’t get you a job in the thing you’re interested in.
If you can get into biotech, though, I’d say that’s the way to go, but yeah, university advisors do a disservice to students with the way they try and steer them into certain career paths without giving them the whole story.

While sciences are the weakest STEM category, a science degree, any science, can put you in a variety of careers. I have an environmental science degree and my internship was with health inspectors (30 hrs of science college credits as a pre req outside of all the training and testing). My first job was a consultant in the oil and gas field (coworkers ranged from geologists to biologists to animal science majors). My current job is groundwater monitoring (again, wide range of science backgrounds). Pay scale for me in these positions is 40k then 60k and now 70k, projected to be $100k in 5 years. The biggest issue I find with finding high paying jobs is being able and WILLING to move to the job. Being picky doesn't pay and that's where I've seen the most struggle.

Not my favorite part when everyone is preaching about tech degrees though biology may have confuse genders technology certainly teaches you being human is a sin, and eats your brain. Back to my point I wanna make money right now before college to easily pay off by debt and have it easy after college. Now to criticing, writing shouldn't be judged by normal people because they don't have the skill of analyzing excellent literature. Your videos are really entertaining, but I am afraid you fully misunderstand social sciences. Sociologists always had a good living as market researchers both at agencies and at big corporations. Also, with the rise of social data science, sociology is one of the best undergrad degrees (perhaps with a double major together with mathematics) for social data science. So overall you underrate not only sociology but also anthropology and psychology, too.
