Paul is indeed the perfect mix between Harkonnen and Atraides.
In the end he was what the Harknonnens wanted to come from their ambition. Emperor.

I guess in the end, it was always Feyd and the Harkonnens who were the good ones, while Paul and the Fremen were the evil ones. I was rooting for Feyd to win, but now we can only hope the Great Houses will put a stop to this madness in the third installment of the franchise.

Reading the books, I never thought of him as having Harkonnen traits. Obvious in retrospect.
Love how they showed so much in such little time, synthetic, brutal, industrial, corrupt and powerful, a rare show of hard work and dedication by the producers and actors!

I wish there was more of the Baron in the movie. There's a lot of interaction he has with his nephews, Piter, and the Emperor that was truncated in the adaptation. He's much more than just a spoiled sadistic brute.
He was so much more cunning and intelligent. Also, the way he escapes death from the tooth is lk hilarious.
I watched the SciFi miniseries.
Believe me, their depiction of the Baron was spot on. Playing being Flippant and Arbitrary to catch anybody around him off guard.
Until using those tactics bit him hard, both in the book and the mini series.
This version of The Baron is a dolt. I don't think Denis understands the characters too well or the themes of Dune for that matter.

Well Paul was Harkonnen all along. The craziest part of this is Paul was more Harkonnen, more brutal, more evil than any other person in the universe and more insidious because he was disguised

He became a believer and became the worse for it.
The Baron didn't mind Feyd killing him... He just wanted a Harkonnen strong enough to become emperor. He won! PAUL became emperor his grandson which is much better for him than the na Baron anyway. When he died tho he thought he lost like an animal when in reality he world the known umiverse
