This song... made me feel like the observtory was the safest and most peaceful place in that sad world
@SweetChick10101 I actually find the observatory really soothing, a place to sit, relax and stargaze when night comes, for me, it's pretty far from being creepy and unsettling, really like it's the only safe place in the game
@SweetChick10101 i think its meant to be like that since its where the bomber kids call home who are presumably without their parents seeing as they wander the streets all day and night.
Funny enought that's where you do the 4th day glitch, making it so the world never ends, so you're right in a way
ikr
i listen to this song on bad nights. takes me right back to being a kid in front of a shitty CRT television with the purple and blue lights shining in my eyes.
life wasn’t perfect then either but it felt that way in the observatory.
Why did Koji Kondo go so hard for a song that you only hear once in a single game for a couple of minutes? That's a flex.
It sounds so simple at first, but then you realise that he’s using extremely specific chords which really show off his abilities as a composer.
sure, you only *need* to go there once, but as kids, when we had no idea where to go next and also much less experience with games and their constructed realities, we played them differently; exploring, adventuring, treating the game's world much more like a real world. Conversely, the sense of fear and trepidation was also that much more real. The Observatory is a truly unique place in Termina in every aspect, and the music adds to that otherworldly, safe yet mysterious feeling that drew me back there again and again as a kid, a haven of beautiful kaleidoscopic colour and soothing music in a world that created a sense of creepy, depressing foreboding that sticks with me even today. Also I spent way too long looking through the telescope trying to find secrets lol
Its because he know it’ll stick forever
you get the heart Piece from the deku merchant after you traded all the land papers tho
it flies out of clock town into a hole and you can ser it in the telescope
This song perfectly encapsulates how it sounds like in my head when I see her smile
Closest cover to The original sounds legit!
Wtf? It’s way too fast
@@linkvigilante21 lolno
@@linkvigilante21 the original music is this fast
@@linkvigilante21 I have a feeling you listened to the one hotdiggedydemon played on his video which is edited to be slightly slower
I wanted to hear a piano cover of this song, and when I looked it up I never expected to find anything this perfect. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for this beautiful rendition.
it's really so beautiful, goosebumps the entire time
How in the absolute hell does this not have hundreds of thousands of views yet
The algorithm is waiting for the perfect moment to showcase true talent to the masses. Fear not, it is only a matter of time.
It's quite an obscure piece in the grand scheme of Zelda music, but I think it's just special. It's so nostalgic for me this piece I really love it.
Right now while I'm posting this comment I'm in tears... this is so incredibly beautiful and nostalgic...
That’s what I was going for :) thanks for the lovely comment!
The music is truly nostalgic for the inner child in me
wtf dude i've always dreamed there was a way of successfully arranging it for 2 hands but i never thought it could actually sound this faithful to the original. the chords merged with the arpeggios sounds amazing. for the love of god share the sheet for this man
So beautiful. Good quality, no weird intro or outro. Just your talent all the way through the video so I can listen to it this over and over.
This song is actually insane, and your arrangement is simply AMAZING :)
If I didn’t know better, I’d say this was the song of healing.
this song always gave me an etheral kind of surreal vibe. i kind of tear up when i hear this song, maybe its cuz of the nostalgia and the moments associated with the time i used to hear this as a kid
anyway wonderful rendition, thanks for sharing
Wow. This is a stunning rendition. I would happily pay for sheets or a MIDI.
The REAL "Song of Healing"❤
Love this tune.. Wish it made a comeback in the series.
The request that did the user 'Silvereagledev' made this video and this cover the justice they needed. I came back to watch this video again because of how much I loved this cover, damn
If this song is part of your childhood, then you had a wonderful time as a kid. I'm so happy to have lived this game.
I could listen to this song for the rest of my life and be happy. You have a gift! The first time I heard this song in Majora’s Mask, I cried because I thought it was so beautiful! You made the best video game song even better!!
This is well played Simon, you've caught the dreamy ambiance of that theme
I like how you paused and nodded at the end like "damn indid a good job" lol this is the best version of this song ive heard. Your work is amazing.
Definitely most faithful cover on yt. None of the others capture the original quite like this
WOW! That transition into Zora's Domain and then back into Astral Observatory was amazing!!!

Just awesome rendition.
I appreciate it with all my heart.
Smooth as fucking butter. Well played, mate.
Amazing performance, especially the smooth transition to the calm section at 1:19 and these amazing chords at 2:43 👏 Hope the piano sheets can be found somewhere!
This is beautiful
I remember arriving at this place for the first time over 20 years ago and being so awed by the atmosphere there. I used to just stand around so I could listen to this music!

Thank you for brightening my birthday.
Really captures the unfathomable and otherworldly beauty of the stars
This is just what I was looking for ✨🎵🎶
By far the best rendition out there, gets the full twinkle fingers magic in there that you can't get anywhere else.
Well done sir, your performance has warmed my heart.
I was looking for a good piano cover and for the first and half minute I almost quit, 'cause, you know, lots of people play this song fast and with a lot of notes, but then at 1min40 something changed. A strange sensation. Like the one you have when ninjas cut onions under your eyes. I cried and laugh at the same time. Well done sir, that's the stuff.
Thank you that means a lot :)
One of the best songs in the game. Great work :)
WOW! 🎹 😊, thank you.
This was beautiful. Thank you for this, perfect way to start the day!
That’s it! I want this as my song when I walk down the isle.
This video deserves way more views. Awesome work, you're very talented.

Greetings from Venezuela, i love this song.
By the Moon’s Tear, that was perfect!
THIS IS SO SICK
Wow this was amazing! You are one talented dude! Huge reason why I loved Majora’s Mask was the music. Brings back lots of memories as a kid playing it 👌
This is absolutely beautiful. Pure nostalgia.
Everytime I play this video I end up watching/listening it all the way through
You are quite talented.
Great work.
Underrated
Love it. Do you know where I can find this piece of sheet music? I have looked everywhere and I can't find it. If I'm to learn this piece Id love to learn this arrangement. Either way, great job, loved it!!
Did u find it?
@@ebu5423 Nope, never did. I struggle doing it by ear myself unfortunately.
GREAT!
Sounds exactly like the game but better!!!💙💚☺️
he nods at the end because he knows those last two chords were perfect
oh good one
Beautiful.
Goosebumps
Man I really liked your cover. Wish I could play like you 👏
Its only few songs in decades of gaming that made me put the controller down and space out...
Astral Observatory MM
Forest Temple OOT
Lake Floria SS
Hyrule Castle theme from BOTW
There are more but these comes to my mind first.
Absolutely stunning cover..
Thank You
I really liked that ending note. The whole thing was beautiful however :) loooove this. dang it I almost tear up haha.
Fantastic!
Thanks RUclips for blessing the algo of this video and putting it in my TL. Trully wonderfull.
Amazing!
Is there a transcription of this cover? I'd pay for it Simon!
There isn't I'm afraid, sorry :(
You ended the theme absolutely perfectly. 💛 Beautiful.
This music can be imagined structured in 12 bars. 12 like the numbers on a clock. Going forever. Just counting 1 to 12 cyclically. Coincidence? I think not!
Excellent way to put it to someone learning it
I love these tranquil Koji Kondo N64 songs. Ever do any renditions of the Menu Select theme from Star Fox 64, or perhaps the credits theme for Yoshi's Island? Similarly beautiful compositions from Kondo that would fit your piano style incredibly well.
Great suggestions! I do play those tracks on Twitch :)
Bravo! I really needed to hear this always relax me when I'm feeling down, enjoy your playing.
Wow.
Amazing just amazing
I can almost hear the aahhs and sparkles in the background.
this is amazing
holy smokes!
I feel like this could be the song of goodbye to the ones we love 😢.
wow
Wooow!!!!
no fancy comment, just thank you for this.
this is absolute gold just 100 percented this game and listening to this cover makes me wanna play it again
