Basically,

He mainly remembers Tanjiro because of his eyes, since they remind him of his late father. He also likes Tanjiro better than other slayers/Hashiras because he helped him regain his memories of his family. Also because he was nice I guess. So that means that he would remember some part of Tanjiro, which I believe are his eyes.
