He is the author of three books on shamanism and indigenous lifeways, “The Jaguar that Roams the Mind,” “The ShamanicOdyssey: Homer, Tolkien, and the Visionary Experience,” and “SacredSoil: Biochar and the Regeneration of the Earth,” along with numerous articles and reviews.
When not putting the final touches on his fantasy novel based on the Brothers Grimm fairytale “The White Snake,” he puts bread on the table by teaching at numerous colleges, all the while dividing his time between the Peruvian Amazon, Mendocino, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
