I like it, and yes, interested in a bigger one, for at least a few guns. Also, I'm trying to figure out a way to not make it look like a compartment, so in case of a burglary it would be overlooked. Sinking it in the wall like a medicine cabinet wouldn't work in my case since my walls are logs.

Great build!! French cleats would work for the mounting. I think magnets all around with foam is my plan.

How would you secure it to the wall with French cleats? That could be easily taken with your guns inside.

Hey Max I think I will make this one for my garage over my work bench when we get all moved in. I will probably use it to hold my cordless drill guns and batteries, I think it would look cool also. Thanks for the video!! I like to keep my real guns where I can get my hands on them fast. But what would be fun is to put toy guns in it😂

Generally it's better to avoid staining any surfaces that are going to receive adhesive. Normally with segmented slab pieces like that, you'd want to edge glue all the strips and the union to each other.

To keep out kids or thieves?
Don't bother if it's for thieves. Won't even slow em down.
For kids...just poke around hardware stores. There's dozens of options. An RFID reader, a relay and a solenoid would be my choice.

Crimson stain will also work if Home Depot doesn’t have Scarlett for the red stain. Had to end up going to Sherwin Williams store to purchase it and find out why some Home Depot’s don’t carry it now. Just a helpful tip. You’re gonna be good with crimson.
