Ren directs all his own videos. His Cinematographer ,Samuel Perry-Falvey is friend since teens. He learned guitar from slowing down Hendrix and John Fruciante. Ren has a GREAT sense of humor. He does it all straight face too. His Instagram is a trip.
Frances is correct. Ren directs, composes, writes, and produces all of his own tracks. Sometimes, though very rarely, he will use samples for beats or rhythm. Ren is a true bard, a one stop shop for everything to be creative. Money Game Part 3? He composed the piano and string instrument portions of the song himself. Slaughter House, his newest track? Composed the instrumentation himself, the beat himself, and wrote the lyrics that Kit sings during the song, though I am 100% certain that he had Kit's input during the process of that portion as he always collaborates when working with fellow artists and makes sure that they get their just dues.
Ren is hysterically funny. That’s one of the reasons we hold him so dear. Many of us are ill like Ren; with autoimmune and chronic illness. You really have no choice but develop a dark sense of humor, and learn to laugh at your own pain situation. I’m home bound. I left my house four times in all of 2024. I’m a huge fall risk. My last two serious falls were devastating (brain surgery, full ankle reconstruction). I died during both surgeries. If I didn’t learn to laugh at it … I’d be dead. Great reaction, mate. This was fun! 😉❤️
@abbymathews5088 Dear god! Well, bless you! I'm getting that age where one slip, one fall, and it could go bad, I don't heal as quickly as I once did, Im very aware of my surroundings now. Nothing broke yet, but 2 sprained ankles at the moment from missing the last patio step in the dark. That was a good 5 minute just checking to see if I broke something.
Rens fan base make up all sorts of people and the one thing we all have in common is we all have a pretty good understanding of Ren. The depth of Ren is more ridiculous than you yet know. I’m hoping you’ll go down this rabbit hole and I’m looking forward to going down it with you. He definitely has a sense of humor, he’s super smart, and honestly, a lot of his songs you need a wealth of knowledge to understand everything that he says or refers to. It’s one of the reasons I love him so much. There’s not too many artists that I find myself having to look up things in their songs because I might not know what a word means or a concept, in fact off the top of my head, I can’t think of any besides Ren. His brain amazes me. What I wouldn’t give for an hour of conversation with this man. It also helps that Ren usually does a live with his fans when he has a new release and he speaks about the song the meaning behind it and the Easter eggs he hides in his songs. He has become one of my favorite artists. He is so multitalented it boggles my mind. His heart though is what endears me to him and I wouldn’t doubt most of his fan base as well. He has given countless people a voice when it comes to mental health or health in general. It’s honestly amazing. There’s never been an artist who has changed my life for the better, but Ren has. He gave me words that years of therapy didn’t. I actually had my psychiatrist watch Hi Ren and because I have a rockstar psychiatrist, she understood. It’s pretty unbelievable that an artist has given me tools that has actually improved my mental health immensely. I’m sure I’m not the only one I see these kind of comments all of the time. This is only one aspect of him, the fact that you cannot put him into a genre yet he kills every genre he decides to do is ridiculous. People like to say Ren is music and I would have to agree with that. He is also a light in this world that I think the world needs. I know for sure that he’s been a light already for millions of people. I feel the need to be clear about something, I am not obsessed with Ren. I’m not obsessed with anything or anyone. I am, however, highly impressed with him and he always seems to just raise the bar. Also, and this is the last thing, I find your sense of humor priceless. You laugh over the silly simple things like I do and I don’t find many people like that. You have made me hysterically laugh, I like that and it’s not easy to do. You’re pretty good at this! I realize that my last post I said that when I post it’s usually short and sweet, honestly, they usually are!! I don’t want to waste your time. I felt the need to give you a renegade’s perspective of Ren… I am sure you will find his fan base wonderful. Thank you for your reactions!

Yeah, Ren doesn't ask permission - but he doesn't monetize his retakes, either. FWIW, Fatboy Slim apparently heard Ren's band performing their version of Praise You in Brighton and shared them on social media. Also, the bassist from The Verve liked his retake so much he sent him a limited edition guitar and some inspirational reading (Ren was already in Canada for treatment at the time), as well as offering some insight and guidance for how to handle his rising fame.
