Seeing you and Leo shake hands in his last video was one of the highlights of 2024 for me. Best of luck Pete. Just have fun. Thats what its all about. Having fun.
Hi Pete, Tally Ho bought together a remarkable group of people who cared about craftsmanship and understood community. The joy for me is to see you once again representing those same values whilst undertaking a wider range of topics. Your aspiration to educate and entertain are more than met by these videos and I feel privileged to gain access to it from the other side of the pond. Thank you so much for being Pete - you are outstanding!
You're a good man Pete. Folks like you! As long as you are showing me something new, different, or interesting, I'm perched on my couch loyal and watching.
Being an amputee myself, I'm amazed at what you do. It's never slowed me down either. I restore furniture and always appreciate some wood working channels. I'll be watching for more wood working projects.
Thanks Pete, find what makes you feel most comfortable and don't change who you are to please an audience, share the content you want to share that makes you happy and those who choose to join you in that journey will support you along the way.
Circular saw used as an angle grinder? Yes! Work outside on a nasty piece of chip-board on old beat-up sawhorses? Why not! This is not any of those prissy, over-produced, product-hyping, perfectly-equipped "how-to" channels that you see everywhere on YT. This is my favorite Tally-Ho gremlin doing his YT thing and I love it. Thanks Pete!
Two for two! Kick ass, Pete! Had the pleasure of hangin out on Arminta two years ago at the festival, she was decidedly my kiddo’s favorite boat there… great to see her at work. Thanks.
I love to see that a free spirit like yourself, has found the swing of live that fits you best! I'm hooked to your channel. Greetings from the Netherlands for you and your loved ones 😊😊
Hi Pete, i'm a Londoner who lives on a narrowboat and have been watching tally ho for a long time. Was very excited to see you start your own think. I think you have an absolute knack for visual storytelling and interviewing - this vid was equal parts beautiful, informative, and funny. Keep up the good work!! Loving it.
Hi I am a Londoner too, Wandsworth Common and a world sailor. I have watched all the episodes of Tally Ho and now we have Pete, Keep it up Pete, nice smoker, almost too good. Aloha from the coffee fields of Kona, Hi.
Great watching some proper work done on the seas! Nothing wrong with flashy yachts or high end furniture building but this is the real thing! You’re doin’ great Pete, good luck!….
A testament to your character, abilities & resilience Pete - I hit like before I even watched your vid. And then not disappointed. Hoping for more.......... "What you doin (next) Pete"???......................
editing, audio quality, story telling all took a big step forward this video! really impressive stuff for a second video. content warning is thoughtful and appreciated. thank you.
I'm with you Pete (Brisbane, Australia). Personal opinion here .. I think once per month is great. Weekly posts can sometimes feel a little bit like saturation bombing.
...While the projects you record are definitely interesting and educational, and the shots of your work are fresh and interesting and show thought and purpose, and the background music is stuff I'd happily choose to listen to without the fun of an accompanying video, the bottom line is that I and obviously many more people show up to watch what you are up to because you are simply a person we like to hang with, even if we can only do that through your videos. I mention that because, let's face it, there's plenty of people putting up woodworking videos and videos on fishing out there. I watch because you give us all that but you also demonstrate some personal qualities that I find the mark of a good person. Your mentioning that there might be scenes that some folks might find hard to watch demonstrates a level of consideration most folks wouldn't ever even think to bring up. And then there's the random application of dog scratches. That kind of basic kindness goes a long, long way. I'm so looking forward to future visits! Thanks!
I am actually one of those people who didn't know that trolling is actually viable (and used) way to do commercial fishing! Thanks for the education as that really does make that kind of fishing operation feel sustainable.
Ahhhh Video #2 Thanks Pete. I enjoy the time I can spend with you via your sharing your life time activities through videos. I love smoke salmon. I lived in Milwaukee and traveled often around the great Lakes starting with Lake Michigan which had become a Salmon raising success for the last 50 years. I could buy smoke salmon chunks as I traveled around the great lakes. Many small fishing businesses sold their smoked salmon right from their small retail businesses located along the shores of those great lakes, YUM. Your smoker looks great. Those salmon steaks made my mouth water.
Excellent Pete. I’ve been a fan since the Tally Ho days, these new videos are so interesting as they shed some more light on what you’ve been up to apart from boat building. Keep them coming please 🙏🤙
Pete, Like the content and the music so far,, The Greg and Amy segment was very informative, really had no idea where/how, the higher quality salmon are harvested. Amy did a superb job of explaining the process. Thanks Pete, keep em coming !
Loved seeing the local people making a living at sea, caring about the environment. Always like some woodworking and, oh yeah, like seeing you as well. Looking forward to the next video! I think the mixture of craftmanship and local life works well!
pete, i love the tools and workshop in this video. it’s great to see quality work being done with tools that are affordable and also small enough that a dedicated workspace is not needed. please make this a priority for your future videos. thank you!
I gotta say that seeing a guy with the carpenter skills of your caliber as seen in your work all around various boats that frequent PT as well as the Western Flyer and Tally Ho busting out a project on some sawhorses in the mud and rain under a pop up tent lets us all know that its not how or where you wood work... its that you just have to do it... regardless of the caliber of tools or the shop space... amazing things can be made in the most humble and modest of circumstances. Thanks for bringing us along on the adventure too!
I fished Alaska and Washington State for seven years back in the 80's and early 90's. Worked on a few 30's and 40's wood boats. But that boat - That boat has got to be one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen. Wow.
Salmon trolling early 80's here age 12 to age 17 BC coast then used that seatime to get my marine qualifications at age 18, Master Mariner at age 25 all the way to Captain on supertankers. Then late 90's I owned Expatriate a 50ft freezer troller. No salmon left by the time I bought, moratorium shut down the salmon here so I went Tuna for 2 years all the way from BC to the mexican border and 600 miles offshore. Then sold the boat. Big mistake selling that boat. Big mistake i should have kept it. How things change I so much would like to go back salmon trolling but that way of life here in BC is gone forever now.
Love seeing your take on commercial fishing as well as all the other goings on in the pacific north west mate. Having worked as a fisho in the Southern Ocean I have much respect for anyone who does it for a living. Keep it up mate.
Not even 4 seconds into the video, went to hit the like button and noticed 2.3k likes and 4'812 views only after 3hrs since release - Magic. Can't wait to see what we learn from Pete today. Just pure MAGIC! Thank you!
It's fabulous to see your movin on in life and as the Tally Ho crew for the most part are/were ALL characters which of course you are one of them, it's great to see life from your perspective.
Hi Pete, I really enjoyed this video, I never thought about the specific meaning of trolling vs trawling so I learned something new. Your segment on fishing was beautifully done and impressed on how clean and good condition Greg and Amy kept Arminta. It is a joy to see the craftsmanship in these old boats and how time shapes their character. It never occurred to me that fishing vesicles that size would have a -40℉ freezer. It is understandable that if your only contact with meat is a nice little neat and clean package at your local supermarket you seldom (if ever) think that an animal needed to be slaughtered. Unless you are a vegetarian, most folks will have eaten beef, pork, chicken or some other meat. So at some point that animal will be slaughtered, that is a fact of life uncomfortable as that makes you feel. If you eat meat an animal will die. Stunning with a club is actually humane, unconsciousness is nearly instantaneous and little or no pain is felt. Pete, obviously you are working to get over your anxiety of being in front of a camera. Just be yourself and let your YT followers discover who you are and what interests you.
Thanks for bringing us along Pete. Always interested to see what someone who leads a different life from myself is up to. Your efforts to introduce small details are the spice of the channel. Keep em coming.✌
Pete, this is absolutely fantastic. For a second ever video it was stunning to watch. The pace, the music, and the visuals were first class. Having met you over on the Tally Ho channel I am thrilled to be able to continue seeing your work and learning along with you.
Nice improvement for your 2nd video (headphone user, audio was WAY better.. serious thank you). Love seeing things that are way outside my norm... Also, happy to see your cameo in the last Tally Ho video with some backstory. Hope we don't bug you here on your own channel, you just represent a person with unique stories and the capability of telling those stories well. Looking forward to your comfort level increasing so we get the more natural storytelling... I suspect you're very good at it when in whatever environment you find most comfortable (boat? around a fire? )
As a troller myself, I know Greg and Amy well from the docks in WA and AK. They are truly at the top of their game, and some of the nicest folk you'll ever encounter. Tell 'em Chris on the Diamond Lil says "good fishin'"
That's a nice looking outhouse too! Like the variety of your episodes. Great to have you back online... and to add nice filming, editing and sound... better everytime..
Thank’s Pete, great smoker! . Years ago I hot smoked eels In tubes made from corrugated roofing iron. Very tasty! I enjoyed the salmon fishing. Cheers!
I'm so glad you're doing this Pete like some others said just be yourself and have fun you have a Creator's soul, a complete restoration on that old pot-bellied stove would be a great video? In it for the Long haul!! I had to come back and edit this comment and say that that was an absolute fantastic interview with Amy if you can't fish for it yourself or grow it yourself or raise it yourself she is the type of person you want to get your food from.
Great vid, Pete. I marked out some stainless sheet to make a smoker this afternoon, now I’m thinking about parking that and firing up the table saw which I’d honestly not considered. All your fault and I’m grateful because 95% of what I Tig weld is Aluminium and I slightly suck at the job when long runs on thin stainless is involved… To each his own etc. and I’ve got a bunch of untreated lumber offcuts sitting in the barn, perfect! Apart from sheep farming regeneratively on 100acres we rod catch in the estuary here from an 18’ open inboard, Mackerel, Bass and Pollack mostly, plus put down a couple of strings of Crab pots. Thanks for highlighting not only the damage that commercial trawling does but also the connection between activities on land directly affecting nature in the sea, we have seen the direct impact of careless and excessive application of artificial fertilisers on land around the estuary, algae blooms and so on, but thankfully less so in recent years as the message has begun to spread and artificial fertilisers have become increasingly expensive. As a youngest brother, your sister has my sympathy.😂 Please keep up the filming, you’re a lot better at it than you give yourself credit for. Take care, stay well and Happy New Year to you from Cornwall, furthest SW UK. 🇬🇧🤝🍻
Film whatever you want mate, we'll watch it. Boats, skills, techniques, knots, fish, tools, toys, im sure we're all interested in a vaguely similar range of stuff. Nice one fella!!
"The pay's not great, but the days are long." 🤣
Love the videos, Pete.
@@AaronJohnsonSTL Positive pessimisms.

felt so so awkward though for me
@@smartgorilla that's because Leo and Pete are both awkward people.
@Josef_R really wow. Seems like it
@@smartgorilla I think that's what makes both of them likable characters. Patrick as well. I don't get the West Coast heebie-jeebies from any of them.
Came into the comments to say exactly this! 🎉
Hi Pete,
Tally Ho bought together a remarkable group of people who cared about craftsmanship and understood community. The joy for me is to see you once again representing those same values whilst undertaking a wider range of topics. Your aspiration to educate and entertain are more than met by these videos and I feel privileged to gain access to it from the other side of the pond. Thank you so much for being Pete - you are outstanding!
Great video, 12:12 and always something interesting.
Well said & our thoughts exactly.
Embarrassing your sister: that's some top-quality brothering right there 😂
You could even say he was doing a bit of trolling…
You're a good man Pete. Folks like you! As long as you are showing me something new, different, or interesting, I'm perched on my couch loyal and watching.
Of course we're returning dude, we love watching what you're up to.
Pete can do whatever he wants, I'm here for it.
Pete,
You are the kind of man who makes people glad to be alive
Thank you so much for the definition of trolling vs trawling. Nice to know there are those who care.
It’s not about the project, it’s about the people doing them. I look forward to all and anything you get up to.👍❤️🇬🇧
Pete is a natural, always has been.
Being an amputee myself, I'm amazed at what you do. It's never slowed me down either. I restore furniture and always appreciate some wood working channels. I'll be watching for more wood working projects.

Pete, You bring a fresh, much needed outlook on RUclips. Your unique camera angles and editing style are excellent. Keep up the great work.
I loved the grin up to camera on the overhead shot
Yes, ditto on the excellent camera shots. Nicely done Pete.

I love Amy's ethos and approach. Embedding ourselves inside the ecosystem is the only route to true sustainability. Loving the channel Pete!
Pete, you are a hell of an editor for being new to this. Really good content.
Pete's the kind of guy that makes you want to hang up with him rain or shine drinking beer and talking deep thoughts of life and friends
You're a natural narrator Pete! Great job sir. I'm looking forward to the next video. Love the content and presentation. 👍👍
Two for two! Kick ass, Pete! Had the pleasure of hangin out on Arminta two years ago at the festival, she was decidedly my kiddo’s favorite boat there… great to see her at work. Thanks.

"As her older brother, that brings me great joy" I feel same with my daughter, when similar opportunities present. Excellent video.
Good to see Pete again. And great to see fish being caught sustainably 👍
Thanks so much for interviewing Amy. I enjoyed learning more about the fishing industry and the salmon fishing you do. The smoker box looks great too.
I'm liking your choice of music. All the very best for the coming year Pete, from the UK
A testament to your character, abilities & resilience Pete - I hit like before I even watched your vid. And then not disappointed. Hoping for more..........

As a troller since the 1970's now retired, you and Amy perfectly described the art of trolling! Thanks for the great video and keep them coming!!

Cheers Pete.

Thanks for showing your daily life. I'm a landlocked Kansan so really enjoyed the video. Look forward to future videos.
