Sorry to hear that. I am English and have just moved to Scotland so don't worry too much, you are definitely more loved than we are!! There are also 2 types of racism I find. The first is just fuelled by lack of education or world experience and bemusement and doesn't go further than childish jokes or stupid insults, but deep down those same people would stand up for you if it really kicked off. The second type is nasty, venomous and violent and fortunately this type is limited to a few nobheads who are hated even by their own peers.
If I can do anything to help you in Scotland I will do my best, you only have to ask via replies and I will give you my email and we can discuss things there in privacy. I have also spent 25 years overseas so I know how it feels, and I just want you to know I have got your back and I have many friends here who are good people. So real world assistance or just a chat, I am here. Have a good day mate

Every nation has racism in it, that's just how it is, everybody is biased to their own background, that's just human nature, as humans are tribalist by instinct. So does Malaysia and England, they are just as bad. Scotland belongs to the Scots, it is their nation but there is the misconception many non-Scots have.

Racism is everywhere. Many black people get a hard time in China, and many Westerners face a kind of aloof racism in Japan. The Uyghurs face racism in China. Urban blacks in America chase Chinese guys down the street. I've heard some Chinese people complain about how Koreans viewed them when they lived in Korea. White people get stared at when they're in Africa. And that's just for skin color. People with different accents also face mockery around the world.

@rahuldahoob This general attempt to promote a generation of 'race grifters' into Scotland and do the place down. You would never see a Scot go to China and claim to be Chinese after living there for decades and then talk about how racist or bigoted it is, even though it probably is, more so infact by comparison. And you'd never see people blame the Chinese either for not seeing or accepting that Scot as Chinese, being Scottish is more than just living there, when you set foot in China, you don't just immediately call yourself Chinese, do you? If being Chinese means something, then being Scottish also means something distinct.
